Howe disappointed with draw

Burnley manager Eddie Howe was left frustrated after seeing his side draw 1-1 with Bristol City, who played the final 30 minutes with defender Liam Fontaine in goal.

Fontaine had to don the gloves after former England international David James suffered an injury on the hour mark, with Robins boss Derek McInnes opting not to name a goalkeeper among his substitutes.

Danny Ings put the home side ahead 13 minutes later but against the run of play Ryan Taylor celebrated his first appearance since mid-October by levelling from 25 yards for his first goal for the club.

Howe said: "I felt we had enough chances to win the game but we let it slip. After we scored we thought we had done enough. We had a good spell in that part of the game where we had plenty of possession.

"We were passing the ball around with ease and I thought we were going to see the game out comfortably. But the nature of the division is that if you make one mistake you can get punished and that's what happened for us.

"We scored a great goal but the overall feeling of having been good in spells but lacking in consistency really sums up our season."

  2. What happened to Fortress Turf Moor this season? Away form was brilliant in the main but at home we were abysmal which is something Eddie nees to sort out for next term. A more positive approach in the Summer transfer market is much needed, are the Board of directors listening or will it be more of the usual hoping to pick up "give aways" and delving into the loan market. Ian Holloway at Blackpool hardly had a team to put on the pitch a month before this season started did'nt spend a fortune and are in the play-offs again.
