Omega Pharma-Quick Step sign Keisse
Omega Pharma-Quick Step have signed Iljo Keisse for the 2012 cycling season.
The Belgian, who is currently serving a doping suspension, will be free to ride again on January 27.
Keisse tested positive at the Gent Six Day Race in November 2008 and was handed a two-year suspension.
That was lifted at the end of 2009 but, after signing for Quick Step, the Court of Arbitration for Sport ruled that he must serve his worldwide ban.
That suspension expired in August but he still has to sit out a Belgian ban, which expires at the end of next month.
As a result, chances for Keisse to ride last season were limited and his contract was not renewed for the forthcoming campaign.
But Omega Pharma-Quick Step have now offered a way back into top-class cycling for the 29-year-old.
"Fantastic news! So proud being part of the Omega Pharma-Quick Step team next year!" Keisse tweeted.
