Price isn't right for Knill

Scunthorpe manager Alan Knill is expecting to make offers for several new players this week but is concerned his targets could be out of his price range.

Knill has held talks with numerous agents and is now ready to firm up his interest in players who will add experience to his squad.

"We're going to make some offers to players this week," Knill told the club's official website. "But I've got to say it has proven quite difficult this year as everybody seems to want more than we have.

"So we'll just have to see whether they accept what we can offer or not. They have all played in the league. They know this league and on top of that are the right age for us. That will be key if we are to build on the good end to the last season.

"But I have to say that comes at a price and probably that's what we're finding hard at the moment - that their prices are quite a way higher than our's. Hopefully that will change in the month to come."
