Jess Varnish powered to the 500 metres time trial title at the British Cycling Championships in Manchester.
Varnish, a team sprint silver medallist at the World Championships earlier this year, clocked a lifetime best 34.500 as Commonwealth Games medallist Becky James and world team pursuit champion Laura Trott completed the podium.
"My aim was to do a personal best and I can't ask for anymore than that, winning is a great bonus," said Varnish.
Steven Burke, the Olympic bronze medallist, won the men's individual pursuit title ahead of Sam Harrison, clocking 3:59.758 while Jonathan Dibben beat Doug Dewey to take bronze and Jon Allen Butterworth set a new Para-Cycling time trial world record, crossing the line in 1:07.459.
