Newcastle manager Alan Pardew has a reputation as a rather nasty presence on the touchline.

Only last season he apologised after calling Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini a "f****** old c***" and then headbutted Hull midfielder David Meyler to earn a seven-game ban.

Pardew also has previous with Arsene Wenger having tangled with the Arsenal boss in the past, but on Saturday he showed the lighter side of his personality in a humorous little incident.

Deciding he had to make a point to one of his players during their match against Aston Villa, he embarked on a mime routine apparently telling them to put a smile on their face.

He could have just pointed to Remy Cabella's hair - that would be enough to raise a grin out of anybody.
