The Pole received an innocuous backpass with Giroud yards away, but dawdled on the ball. As the Frenchman approached, Boruc manoeuvred the ball to his left, successfully evading the striker.
But rather than hoof the ball away, Boruc turned back the other way, then back AGAIN - whereupon Giroud decided he'd had enough. He nicked the ball off the hapless keeper and scored the easiest goal of his career, putting the Gunners 1-0 up and on course for what would end up as a 2-0 win.
Didn't believe your eyes? Neither did Early Doors, so let's all see that again:
Anyone else having flashbacks of long-forgotten PE teachers or under-9s coaches screaming "What on earth were you playing at!?!??" while standing three inches away from your face?
The strangest thing is that this is the second brainfart in just a few weeks from Boruc, who had been enjoying a fine season with Southampton.
Just three weeks ago he conceded to Stoke keeper Asmir Begovic, whose long clearance bounced over his head after just 13 seconds.
Following that embarrassment, which meant the game ended in a draw rather than a Saints win, Boruc said: "I promise I will get those two points back."
After this latest calamity, it looks like he probably owes his team-mates another couple of points or so.
