The second weekend of the 2013-14 Premier League season only saw one major upset but plenty of hyperbole from fans and pundits.

Common sense is hardly an attribute widely attributed to lovers of the beautiful game, but reactionary madness comes in spades.

Two games in and some fans have already hit the panic button, with a surprising number of Manchester City supporters rejecting Manuel Pellegrini’s ‘holistic’ approach to football after one win and one defeat…

Fulham 1-3 Arsenal

Hopefully this gentleman was being ironic/drunk…

This Arsenal fan gets over-excited after a routine win over weaker opposition:

Southampton 1-1 Sunderland

The concept of teams not winning every game appears alien to this fan…

Newcastle United 0-0 West Ham United Amazing how a goalless draw between two similar teams can provoke such contrasting reactions from supporters…

Hull City 1-0 Norwich City Hull fans do not want to be ‘rebranded’ as the Hull City Tigers. Except they are already known as the Tigers, and this supporter group even has Tiger in its name. Confused? You should be.

Chris Hughton has made some of the signings of the summer and is surely the man to stabilise Norwich as a top-flight club. But one narrow defeat away to Hull, and his time is up…

Everton 0-0 West Brom Steady on there fella…

Who?!

Aston Villa 0-1 Liverpool

No. Just no.

Cardiff City 3-2 Manchester City That’s a lot to take from one match!

I hope this is ironic. Not an isolated opinion, it must be said…

Tottenham Hotspur 1-0 Swansea You’d think Spurs fans would be happy with their 100% start to the season domestically and in Europe…
