On a rain delay, H.S. teams decide to joust

Two high school baseball teams in Connecticut decided they weren't just going to sit in the dugout during a recent rain delay. Instead, the Darien High and Warde (Fairfield, Conn.) teams turned the opportunity into a medieval-style joust.

One player from each team lifted a teammate, wearing the catcher's gear, onto his shoulders, then ran at each other.

They also acted out a Revolutionary War-style battle scene, complete with drummer boys.

The game eventually resumed, with Darien winning 6-1. it's doubtful the final score will be the last memory, though, when these boys look back on the day.

"I've always heard about rain delay antics, so it was awesome to finally see in person," Alex Hager, Darien's play-by-play announcer, told MaxPreps. "The team spends so much time together and you can tell that a lot of the guys are great friends. Both of the teams were laughing a lot and just having an all-around great time."
