Bob Uecker and crew were temporarily trapped in Miller Park radio booth

This is no way to treat a Hall of Famer and his friends.

Legendary Milwaukee Brewers radio voice Bob Uecker, his broadcast partner Joe Block, and several other members of the Brewers radio production crew were temporarily trapped inside their Miller Park radio booth on Wednesday night when the outside handle broke off the door leading in to their booth.

With the door also locked from the inside, that meant no one could get in or out of the booth until the door was taken off its hinges.

The ladder was necessary because the hinges were on the inside of the door, and because we're guessing no one preparing to broadcast a baseball game brings the necessary tools for such circumstances.

Thankfully, help was quick to arrive.

The odd incident happened during the sixth inning of Milwaukee's 6-3 victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers. It did not impact the game on the field. We're guessing it didn't knock the famously quick-witted Uecker off his game in the booth either. If anything, it will give a season's worth of material to use during broadcasts, especially if the Brewers season continues trending as it has during the first month.

Strangely enough though, this wasn't the only mechanical malfunction at Miller Park on Wednesday night.

Following the game, the elevator carrying MLB.com's Ken Gurnick to the Dodgers clubhouse became stuck.

This time, it was the Milwaukee Fire Department to the rescue, and soon all was well again.

The Brewers are three games into a 10-game homestand. It would be our suggestion that once the homestand ends next Wednesday, they take inventory and test some equipment just to make sure no other surprises are awaiting them. We're sure the fans, and especially those in the media, wouldn't appreciate that.
