Chris Young struck out against pitching machine in Yankees intrasquad game

Chris Young will want to put this blunder behind him quickly.

The Yankees played an intrasquad game on Monday in preparation for their Grapefruit League opener on Tuesday. Since most of the team's pitchers were working out elsewhere at the complex, a pitching machine was used for the game.

It appears Young had a little trouble picking up the machine's fastball.

To make matters worse, Young was the only one to go down swinging.

We're sure that the rest of the Yankees will be giving him an earful for that. There's also a good chance he incurs a fine in the team's kangaroo court. Young projects to be New York's fourth outfielder this season and is among the group of players trying to take away DH at-bats from Alex Rodriguez.

Speaking of A-Rod, he went 0-for-2 against the machine, but at least he didn't strike out.
