With Yasiel Puig out, Zack Greinke will handle all of the Dodgers' bat flips

The best teammates are the ones who pick you up when you're down. Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Yasiel Puig may not be able to flip his bat now that he's on the disabled list, but that's OK, because Zack Greinke is happy to oblige.

Greinke was able to show off his skills in the seventh inning of Tuesday's game against the Brewers. On the second pitch of his at-bat against Rob Wooten, Greinke smashed a double to center. After making contact, Greinke flipped his bat as if he's been a hitter his entire career.

For a pitcher, Greinke is actually not bad at the plate. He owns a career .213/.261/.323 line over 278 plate appearances.

Following the contest, Greinke said the bat flip has always been a part of his game.

It was quite an entertaining game for Greinke. His next time at the plate, Greinke asked for an appeal at first base and was called out on strikes.

He also had his adventures on the mound. After issuing a walk to Elian Herrera, Greinke reminded the second baseman, and possible the umpire, of the count.

Things went pretty well overall, though. Greinke gave up just one run on two hits over 7 2/3 innings during the contest. He struck out seven and walked two. With the win, Greinke improved to 5-0 on the season.

Yasiel Puig may have vowed to cut down on his bat flips, but we may have already found his successor. With any luck, this will ignite a little bat flipping rivalry once Puig returns.

Anything that gets Puig back to his bat flipping ways is a positive in our book. Plus, the king of bat flips can't be a pitcher. As entertaining as Greinke is, that just doesn't seem right.
