    INDIANAPOLIS -- Melvin Guillard won a split decision over Jeremy Stephens at UFC 119, 29-28, 28-29 and 30-27. This is Guillard's third win in a row

    Stephens started the round by knocking down Guillard, but the tide quickly changed. With strong movement and powerful punches, Guillard ruled the first round. He got the better of each exchange with Stephens, and even showboated a bit when avoiding strikes.

  • Joe Doerksen knows submissions so C.B. Dollaway was going to be cautious in his UFC 119 fight on Spike. But Dolloway isn't half bad with his sub game either. Doerksen got a little sloppy during some action along the cage and left his head exposed. Dollaway latched on an arm-in choke and dropped to his back. But it wasn't over just yet. Dollaway showed patience and eventually let the arm go and locked on a guilltoine choke that Doerksen couldn't survive. Dollaway got his sixth UFC win at 2:13 of the first round.

  • Hometown boy Mitrione wins exciting decision at UFC 119

    INDIANAPOLIS -- Matt Mitrione won an exciting and aggressive decision over Joey Beltran, 29-28 on all three judges cards, in front of his hometown crowd.

    With the crowd chanting "Matt" and "Meathead," Mitrione and Beltran had several furious exchanges. Beltran managed to get Mitrione to the ground in the first round and control him throughout. Mitrione tried for submission attempts but was nowhere near successful.

    Mitrione landed a head kick to start the second round and a flurry of punches, but Beltran again went to the clinch. Beltran used the clinch to get out of big striking exchanges

  • Tavares wins quickly, Lowe wins decision at UFC 119

    INDIANA -- Thiago Tavares made a statement in the UFC's lightweight division with a fast submission of Pat Audinwood at UFC 119.

    Tavares controlled the whole bout, slamming Audinwood down to the ground. As they stood back up, Tavares locked Audinwood in a standing guillotine, causing Audinwood to tap at 3:47.

    Lowe wrestles way to decision

    Waylon Lowe won a bloody decision over Steve Lopez, 29-28, 28-29, 29-28.

    Lowe's wrestling was impressive in the first round, as he managed to control Lopez throughout the round. He sealed the round with a takedown in the final seconds.

  • UFC 119: The Rock is in the building

    INDIANAPOLIS -- Dwayne Johnson -- also known as "The Rock" -- enjoyed the fights at UFC 119 from cageside. He showed up early to see the preliminary fights, and stopped in to chat with UFC commentator Mike Goldberg. He took time out from filming a movie with Vin Diesel to see the bouts.

  • McCorkle, Grant start UFC 119 with wins

    INDIANAPOLIS -- Sean McCorkle started off UFC 119 at the Conseco Fieldhouse with a bang, submitting Mark Hunt in an armbar in just 1:03.

    Hunt got the first takedown but McCorkle got him in a quick armbar, stretching him out to end the fight. The already raucous crowd stood and cheered for their hometown fighter.

    “If I get submission of the night, that would be awesome too," McCorkle said after the fight. "I never fought in front of more than 1,500 people so this was amazing, especially fighting in front of your home crowd.”

  • UFC 119 shapes up to be a good one tonight. The card isn't filled with superstars but it appears to possess some nice matchmaking by Joe Silva. It'll have to deliver on a high level to match last night's MMA event in Japan. DREAM 16 had plenty of pomp and circumstance and some nasty finishes.

    The card was highlighted by Jason Miller's easy win over Kazushi Sakuraba. The 41-year-old legend was overmatched from the get-go.
