Mad Dash: Curry, Warriors fulfilling promise of tweet from 2009

Social media has given us plenty of regrettable moments that athletes would prefer to forget, but a Steph Curry tweet has been passed around in the last few days that shows just how special the online exchange between an athlete and his or her fans can be. In the midst of an ugly 2009-10 rookie campaign where Curry was struggling to play for a team that stumbled to a 26-56 record, Curry tweeted a promise that the team would turn things around. It took a few years and a lot of changes, but Curry is still on the floor for Golden State, is the league MVP, and the team is poised for a championship showdown with LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers. Ball Don't Lie's Dan Devine wrote more about it here, and it's worth your time. What a cool moment to remember.

A quarterback has to have quick feet, so maybe it's no surprise that Baker Mayfield is poised to be the starting signal-caller at Oklahoma in the fall. Mayfield's dancing ability has made a video shot by teammate John Humphrey, Jr., go viral this week. Anyone looking for tips on how to do the "Whip" should definitely take the time to watch. Also anyone just looking for a little amusement to close out the week.

You may not know that Victor Oladipo's sister, Kendra, is deaf, but it's had a dramatic impact on his life. It's one reason he'd like to one day hold a basketball camp for deaf players, and it's also why he paid a visit to the Model Secondary School for the Deaf in Washington, D.C. Oladipo gave a speech (with translator nearby), and even left an inspirational message on a whiteboard for the school's athletes. That's a pretty cool way to give back to a group near to your heart.
