Terrelle Pryor now the Seahawks' problem

The Raiders traded quarterback Terrelle Pryor to the Seattle Seahawks on Monday, a league source confirmed.

Pro Football Talk originally broke the news on Monday evening. The Raiders announced that they received a 2014 seventh-round pick in return.

Pryor asked to be traded or released in late January during a conversation between the Raiders and Pryor’s agent, Drew Rosenhaus. The team hoped to get something in return for the athletic quarterback, but was prepared to cut him prior to the start of the team’s offseason program on Tuesday.

Pryor started nine games in 2013. He kept the Raiders competitive early on, but fell out of favor and lost his starting job near midseason. He started the season finale against the Denver Broncos, but struggled in that game as he had before Matt McGloin took over the No. 1 spot.

Pryor finished the season with 1,798 passing yards, seven passing touchdowns, 11 interceptions and a 69.1 quarterback rating. He also had 576 rushing yards (6.9 yards per carry) and two rushing touchdowns.

Pryor responded to the trade on Twitter saying, "Thank you Mr. Davis and Raider Nation for the unbelievable support!! I will miss the fans and all the teammates I have met over the years with the Raiders organization."

Seahawks general manager John Schneider addressed Pryor's acquisition in a statement released on the team website.

"Terrelle is an incredible explosive athlete, and we're excited for him to come in and compete," Schneider said.

Pryor was fan favorite, with a diehard faction that believed he would be a superstar. The Raiders selected Pryor with a third-round pick in the 2011 supplemental draft. He was the last draft pick made by owner Al Davis before he died.

The Raiders now have seven picks in the upcoming draft, including three seventh-round selections.
