Bo Jackson drills 331-yard drive at charity golf outing (Video)

Bo Jackson may be 51 years old, but he’s still in great shape. The Auburn great put that on display at Monday’s Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl charity golf tournament by hitting a whopping 331-yard drive, the best the day.

Monday, day one of the event, featured “Long Drive” and “Closest to the Pin” competitions. Jackson’s 331.5-yard strike was the longest of the day, 13.1 yards further than former NBA player and current ESPN basketball analyst Jon Barry’s 318.4-yard effort. Among the 13 college coaches in the competition, Ole Miss’ Hugh Freeze’s 287-yarder was the best.

In the closest to the pin challenge, Auburn head coach Gus Malzahn hit a shot within 7’9” of the pin to win that event.

For coming out on top, Jackson, Freeze, Malzahn and former Maryland quarterback Scott McBrien (whose shot came within 8’2” of the pin) each received an additional $5,000 for the charity of their choice.

Here are the full results of both competitions:

The full field of participants are scheduled to compete in the full tournament round on Tuesday for a share of $500,000 which goes to “endowed scholarships at participating universities and charitable foundations selected by the coaches.”
