Syracuse unveiled new Nike uniforms for the 2014 season (Photos)

Syracuse football unveiled its brand new Nike uniforms for the 2014 season on Wednesday which were designed to “connect the team’s past and present.” The uniforms feature custom “taller and more narrow” numbers, which were designed to resemble the height of New York City’s skyline, which goes along with that "New York's College Team" campaign they've been running.

At home, the Orange will wear a navy blue uniform with an orange helmet. On the road, the squad will wear white jerseys and pants with navy stripes and a white matte-finish helmet. An alternate grey look is also available with orange stripes and a navy helmet.

The color schemes and helmets are really sharp, but the long, thin numbers are pretty ugly in my opinion. And iff you didn't already notice, none of the uniforms are Orange either, and fans don't seem too happy about it.

Syracuse fans were not too fond of the all-blue uniforms and two-tone helmets that were introduced last season either.

The Orange, who are coming off a 7-6 season which was capped off by a Texas Bowl victory over Minnesota, will debut the new uniforms on August 29 against Villanova. Head coach Scott Shafer announced that for every ticket bought for that game, he will purchase an additional ticket for the fan.
