The Winnipeg Jets are a playoff team for the first time since relocating from Atlanta, giving the city its first playoff series since 1996.

This is super exciting, as the fans no doubt reminded us last night with their crowd surfing street party. We imagine everyone’s going to want in on these happy vibes …

… which means local radio stations are already cranking up their playoff anthem song parodies!

Virgin 103.1 is fast out of the gate with this song, cleverly titled “The Playoff Anthem,” that spoofs Eminem’s “Without Me.” Timely!

Here it is in all its ragged glory:

Hey, that … didn’t completely suck?!

And not just because they found a way to rhyme “Scheifele” within the flow.

Sample prose:

“Guess who’s back?/

It’s Peg City/

So everybody/

Stand up with me/

Drop the puck/

And get the Stanley Cup/

Shout it out/

[TRUE NORTH!]/

Strong and free!”

We’re also quite fond of transforming the “just settled all my lawsuits …” part into a tribute to Kevin Cheveldayoff trading for Tyler Myers.

Of course the lack of Lee Stempniak shout out leaves us cold.
