Patrick Kane, NHL scoring leader, injured after boards crash (Video)

Patrick Kane entered the night tied for the NHL lead in points.

He left the Chicago Blackhawks’ game against the Florida Panthers, and it didn't look good.

In the first period, Kane fell awkwardly against the boards, stumbling down and crashing into the dasher with his left shoulder and hand. He skated off, slumped over, back to the Blackhawks' dressing room.

Alex Petrovic of the Panthers was given a 2-minute minor for cross-checking, after his stick jab to Kane’s back preceded the crash. (Dirty play or a player losing an edge? Let the debate commence…)

The Blackhawks announced that Kane would not return to the game, having suffered an “upper body injury.”

Kane was tied with Nicklas Backstrom for the NHL lead with 64 points.
