Ryan Miller out 4-6 weeks after Sunday collision: Report

The Los Angeles Kings and Minnesota Wild are hot. The Vancouver Canucks are playing pretty well, but probably need to step it up slightly with the rest of the Western Conference making a big playoff push.

What great timing for your starting goaltender to be out for potentially six weeks.

The report comes from Sportsnet’s Dan Murphy that Miller will be out 4-6 weeks after suffering an injury against the New York Islanders on Sunday.

Here is the video of Miller getting hurt when Jannik Hansen slid into Miller's lower body:

Not good for the Canucks, who have 71 points and gone 6-4-0 in their last 10 games.

Enter the Lack … backup Eddie Lack that is, whose goals against average is identical to Miller’s 2.47. His save percentage is at .917, a few ticks above Miller’s .913. He has played in 20 games, so it’s not like you’re throwing someone untested into the mix.

So will this end OK with the Canucks? It could. But it’s still bad timing.
