Shea Weber injured with 'subluxed kneecap' against Blackhawks

The Nashville Predators announced defenseman Shea Weber suffered a subluxed kneecap in Game 2 against Chicago and is out 4-6 weeks. Alas, the Predators lost to Chicago in Game 6, so really, the injury timetable means little because it happened in the playoffs. Also, isn’t it amazing that a player can go from 'day-to-day with a lower body injury’ as the team called it, to having surgery and being out 4-6 weeks. Gotta love the playoffs, and teams that think injury disclosure puts them at some sort of disadvantage. It’s one of the reasons why we love the NHL. Every team does this, but we must thank Nashville for the specificity in making us all search the term "subluxed" which isn't in my spellcheck.

Oh, and here’s another Nashville injury that just got specified now that the Predators’ season is over.

Fisher was previously called “day-to-day” with a “lower body injury” early in the series according to the team, before returning for the last two games.

So if Nashville made a run into the playoffs, Weber would have maybe been back? Huzzah! Oh well wishful thinking.

Between the “subluxed” kneecap and the weird noises during the Predators broadcast earlier in the season, Nashville wins the award for most nefarious sounding type … stuff during the 2014-15 season. As for Weber, he’ll make a full recovery per the release and probably anchor what should be one of the best defenses in the NHL next year.
