Slovakian hockey team pumps out AC/DC for playoff push (Video)

Screen grab vit YouTube

Teams generally go through great pains in order to figure out ways to shoot playoff montages to get their fans psyched up. Some work, some don’t. This gem from HK Poprad from the Slovak Extraliga totally just rocks. Literally.

Behold, the players doing a little air guitar type action to AC/DC’s Thunderstruck.

This is not the first time Poprad did something kind of awesome. Check out their 2012 video.

From the Slvak news website Korzar, translated via Google translate:

"Originally, we wanted to make something different," said Igor Lacuš in whose head the idea to make your own music video for pre-match anthem.

"The idea was liked and fellow players alike, so we embarked on shooting," said Lacuš.

This is a most excellent idea. For one, “Thunderstruck” gets most crowds going. Second, players doing air guitar only adds to the fervor. Third, there's some awesomely bad lip-syncing once the lyrics start.

We would love to see P.K. Subban doing this with the Canadiens this spring … while wearing a GoPro of course.
