It has been a remarkable week or so for Jason Puncheon, who, following last weekend’s penalty miss at Tottenham, is now rubbing shoulders with some of Europe’s elite in our European Team of the Week.
Puncheon grabbed the winner as Tony Pulis’s Crystal Palace beat Stoke City 1-0 to move out of the relegation zone and he lines up alongside two other Premier League starlets in midfield.
Yohan Cabaye, a reported target of PSG, slots in alongside Puncheon following his star turn in Newcastle’s 3-1 win at West Ham; while Santi Cazorla’s double for Arsenal against Fulham earns him a spot on the left.
Arturo Vidal is one of two Serie A players to make the team, with Manuel Pasqual’s assist and three interceptions in Fiorentina’s 3-0 win over Catania enough to secure a spot at left-back.
Inside of Pasqual sits Norwich’s Ryan Bennett, whose goal secured what could be an invaluable win against Hull City on Saturday.
