5 crazy things you missed: Boy’s dance is REALLY terrifying, Ronaldo’s new, new haircut

The Rio Report

Often some of the funniest, most interesting and quirky moments at huge sports events go almost unnoticed, rarely featured in reports or blog posts.

So here are five ridiculous things you may not have already seen or heard about from the last few days with the World Cup, in particular, bringing us all some wonderful stories.

Did you see anything particularly noteworthy that passed off without mention? Feel free to bring it to our attention in the comments section below...

1) THIS FAN'S DANCE WILL STICK WITH YOU - ...and not in a good way. Quite frankly, it's utterly terrifying

Little Kid's terrifying dancing by SFSNTV

Well, you may like us begin looking at the man on the right to see what he is going to do, only to realise that it's the little boy on the left who is really grabbing his few minutes of fame.

By the looks of his astonishingly striking moves, this may well not be the last we see of the attention-loving kid. Quite what his parents must be thinking when watching this clip is anyone's guess but it's, well, interesting.

The scary facial expression, tongue wagging and gyrating hips all make for one very memorable image, and one we perhaps wish we had not taken in. Oh well.

2) WHAT HAPPENED TO THE ZIG-ZAG, CRISTIANO? - Ronaldo shows off his latest, latest haircut

If there is one thing you should do before a do-or-die World Cup match it is to get your haircut, even if you'd only just done that days before anyway.

That's exactly what Cristiano Ronaldo made sure of before Portugal's huge clash with Ghana, and he showed off his latest brutal cut - this time a mohawk - at training.

The Real Madrid maestro's earlier cut was thought to be a tribute to 10-month-old Erik Ortiz Cruz, who had £50,000 brain surgery paid for by Ronaldo. That one was SO the last few days.

3) CAN'T WAIT UNTIL PAY DAY? - No problem, here's a chartered flight with your cash, Ghana stars

Why did the Ghanaian FA fly $3m in CASH to Brazil?

Who says that the World Cup spirit has been lost? Wish your money would be with you just a little bit faster? The Ghana squad share your pain.

They want their appearance fees for competing in the World Cup. But instead of sitting tight and complaining on social media about their collective skintness, like the rest of us would do, they insisted the Ghanaian government charter a plane to fly out the $3m - in cash.

Deputy Sports Minister Joseph Yamin told Ghanaian radio station Citi FM: "The government had to mobilise the money and a chartered flight to Brazil." Now they really should try to beat Portugal...

4) THE PARTY IS IN THE STANDS, NOT ON THE PITCH - French WAGs show their support and unity to reflect the team

Now this is what you call real support.

The French players' wives and girlfriends turned out in force to watch them face Ecuador in the Group E finale, and looked ready to take to the pitch themselves as they donned their blue and white colours.

The wives of Yohan Cabaye, Loic Remy, Mamadou Sakho, Bacary Sagna and Patrice Evra didn't look too worried pre-match, though, as the five posed for photographs ahead of the stalemate.

5) IS THIS FUNNY OR VERY DISRESPECTFUL? - Watch Argentina star squirt his manager with isotonic

Watch hilarious footage as Argentina star squirts manager

His side may have started their quest for World Cup glory with three consecutive victories, but it’s been far from routine for Argentina manager Alejandro Sabella.

Question marks over formation, mutterings of dissent and a failure to coast a favourable group have only increased the pressure on the 59-year-old, who is seeking to secure his nation the trophy for the first time since 1986.

But when he ushered Ezequiel Lavezzi aside from some tactical advice during Argentina’s match with Nigeria, there appeared to be little chance of anything going wrong.

Unfortunately for Sabella, his forward’s response was cruel and comical in equal measure – Lavezzi refusing to make eye contact before cheekily squirting water on the gaffer.
