Five highlights from the 2015 WWE Hall of Fame ceremony

The Turnstile will affectionately be known as The Turnbuckle this week as we count down to WrestleMania 31 from Levi’s Stadium on March 29. Check back all week on Yahoo Sports to get your daily wrestling fix.

The WWE’s Hall of Fame ceremony took place Saturday night at the SAP Center in San Jose as nine inductees were honored. In case you don’t have four (!) hours to spare in order to watch the entire show, here’s some nuggets that fill you in on what you missed.

Rikishi pays tribute to his family:

The number of WWE wrestlers (from The Rock to Yokozuna) to come from the Samoan Anoa’i family tree is impressive and Rikishi is the latest inductee in the Hall of Fame.

The Bushwhackers acting like … The Bushwhackers:

This has to be the only suit Luke and Butch own, right?

Lanny Poffo transforms into The Genius while inducting Randy Savage:

It took far too long but “Macho Man” Randy Savage was finally inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame. Savage’s brother, Lanny Poffo, accepted the behalf on his honor and returned to his rhyming ways.

Kevin Nash thanks his past opponents:

You have to respect a man who knows he wasn’t the greatest wrestler but could follow someone else’s lead in the ring.

Connor “The Crusher” Michalek is the first-ever recipient of the Warrior Award

Get the tissues ready.

By far the most touching moment of the evening was Steve Michalek talking about his late son and WWE fan Connor Michalek. Connor was diagnosed with a brain tumor at the age of 3 and his one wish before he died was to meet wrestler Daniel Bryan. Connor met Bryan in 2012 and beat the odds from doctors, as he was healthy enough to watch his hero win the WWE Championship at WrestleMania XXX in New Orleans. Connor died less than a month later and weeks following the tragic passing of The Ultimate Warrior. The Warrior Award was established to honor someone who has “exhibited unwavering strength and perseverance, and who lives life with the courage and compassion that embodies the indomitable spirit of WWE Hall of Famer, The Ultimate Warrior.”
