It is sometimes very difficult to make good decisions when you are in the thick of sporting battle - or in this case celebrating an Olympic medal.
For Russia's Olga Graf, a 'wardrobe malfunction' very nearly saw her embarrassed in a big way on her special day.
She won a surprise bronze medal in the women's 3000m speedskating event but her celebrations almost turned sour - or sweet, depending on your perspective.
Graf unzipped her skintight suit almost to her waist, not realising that she was not wearing anything underneath.
Normally seen with an underlayer or vest, it was a rare occasion when a speedskater literally had NOTHING on underneath her top half.
Without a stitch of cloth under her suit, viewers watched on in amazement (or horror) before a huge embarrassment was just about averted.
"I totally forgot," Graf told the Associated Press.
"We have very good suits and they are very tight. … You just want to breathe and you want to take off your suit.
"Only afterwards did I realise that maybe this video will appear on YouTube. But I don’t think it will be so bad."
Graf, of course, hastily zipped up her suit the second that she realised her mistake, but by that point it had already become a talking point.
Russian President Vladimir Putin clearly didn't mind, however.
"You brought an unforgettable moment of triumph and utter joy to millions of fans by taking the first medal for our team," he told Graf in a public statement.
For many reasons, it will have been a day that Graf will never forget.
