Gareth Bale will grace the cover of FIFA 14, the latest instalment of EA Sports’ football video games.
He will be pictured alongside regular cover boy Lionel Messi on this year’s edition of the best-selling game, and in circumstantial evidence which may cheer up worried Spurs fans, he does so in full Tottenham garb.
Bale has been linked with a big-money move away from White Hart Lane all summer, with Messi and Barcelona’s rivals Real Madrid the most speculated destination.
In fact, when new £34 million signing Asier Illarramendi was unveiled last week, Real fans overshadowed the occasion with mass chants of ‘We want Bale!’
Though far from conclusive, the popular gaming franchise’s decision to go with a Spurs-kit-clad Bale suggests every bit as much as Madrid’s purchases of Illarramendi and Isco that their fans may not get what they want, this time.
