Get this house for free*! (*assuming Brighton get promoted)

A football fan has pledged to give away his house if Brighton make it to the Premier League.

And it's no dingy two-bed terrace we're talking about, but a luxury £1.4 million mansion in the seaside town of Hove.

Brighton & Hove Albion supporter Martin Senior has his house on the market - but he has pledged that he will refund the entire purchase price should his beloved Seagulls make it into the top flight this season.

And it's not as if it's a particularly unlikely scenario. Despite bookies' odds of 12-1, Brighton currently sit ninth in the table and on 50 points, putting them firmly in the hunt for a play-off spot at just four points behind third-placed Birmingham.

"Whoever buys the house will certainly be backing Brighton and Hove Albion to get promoted to the Premier League this season, even if they are not a football fan," says 45-year-old Senior, who designed and built the modern house himself.

"It would be the perfect end to the season for an Albion fan: a free house and their team in the Premier League.

"We promise to anyone who buys my house that if Albion get promoted this season, we will give the buyer all their money back."

Shiny floors, the sort of TV a looter would be proud of and a pull-down projector screen

The four-bedroom pad might make an ideal purchase for one of Brighton's players, particularly if they do go up this term: with fancy chrome lighting, polished wooden floots and stunning views of the English Channel, it resembles a set from 'Footballer's Wives' - as the pictures on this page (from local estate agent Winkworths) show.

And Senior sees it exactly the same way: "It's a real footballers' wives house and I could see an Albion player at home here," he said.
