A
Manchester City fan has been left red-faced after having a tattoo on his arm
proclaiming his team as European champions.

Kirk
Bradley, 25, had 'Manchester City - Champions League Winners 2011', along with
a picture of the famous trophy, inked on to his right shoulder before the start
of this season.

But defeat
to Tottenham on Wednesday ended City's hopes of qualifying for next season's
Champions League - and proved the fanatical Blue's prophecy wrong.

But
Bradley, from Birmingham, refuses to give up hope and may have the wording
changed to '2017'.

"I've
had a fair bit of stick for it already," he said in The Sun.

"I
don't regret it and can see the funny side. I'm getting stick from United
fans."

Bradley's
initial confidence was prompted by City's heavy investment in their squad,
which totalled more than £200 million.

Bradley
told the Daily Mirror when he had the tattoo last summer: "I really
believe we have the quality and the ambition to do it.

"All
my mates think I'm crazy, but I don't care. At least no one can doubt that I am
a true fan."

He is not
the first City fan to fall foul of a tattoo nightmare - fellow Blue Christopher
Atkinson had 'Kaka' emblazoned across his chest when the club made
their move to sign the Brazilian star from Milan.

The deal
fell through, and Kaka joined Real Madrid last summer.
