German striker Kevin Kuranyi was guilty of a shocking miss in his latest
Russian Premier League match.

The
29-year-old has been out of favour with the national side ever since a run-in
with national coach Yogi Loew three years ago.

But he has
continued his stunning strike form ever since, and has netted 13 times in 33
matches since joining Dynamo Moscow last year.

The
Brazilian-born star's touch deserted him spectacularly on Sunday, however, when he
somehow contrived to miss an open goal from three yards out against struggling
Volga.

With a
perfectly-weight pass from midfielder Igor Semshov finding him in space right
in front of the goalmouth, all Kuranyi had to do was side-foot the ball into
the net to open the scoring on 18 minutes.

But somehow
he managed to scoop the simple tap-in miles over the bar with a miss which has
to be seen to be believed.

Semshov ended
up saving his team-mate's blushes, however, going it alone to find the back of
the net on the hour mark to put Dynamo ahead, with Alexandr Samedov adding
another in injury time to guarantee all three points and keep the side in the
title race.
