This teen’s skateboarding is better than anything you can do

World of Sport

Back in the 1980s, the only skateboarding move almost any elementary boarder knew about was the ollie. Everybody could do one. Or said they could.

And then Tony Hawk changed the game. Airwalking and grinding became part of the sporting vernacular. He brought the 540, the 720 and even the 900 into our living rooms during the X Games, in video games and as part of movies like "Gleaming the Cube".

Nobody since has quite been able to emerge as a household skateboarding name the way Hawk has. But after this weekend Egill Gunnar has as good a shot as anyone.

The young Icelandic skateboarder posted a video of himself completing multiple backflips from one board to another, and it's awesome.

The video has received more than 50,000 views in a few days, and it deserves more. And if Gunnar isn't sponsored by Adidas already, he should be, since he clearly digs the brand.

Other than his sweet skateboarding name and even sweeter skateboarding moves, we don't much about Egill Gunnar. Well, except for the fact he's awesome at parkour, too. That is, if you think leaping from building to building like an action star is cool.

Thankfully, we've come a long way since the ollie. Now, we just need a name for the moving backflip from one skateboard to another... maybe the Gunnar?
