Touching moment 13-year-old carries twin sister over line

World of Sport

Sport has a happy knack of delivering wonderfully heartwarming stories if you look hard enough. This is one such tale.

Halfway through the 800m event at a school track meet, Chloe Gruenke felt an agonising pain in her thigh and was unable to continue.

Fortunately for her, however, twin sister Claire was also running in the race and decided that she simply could not leave her sibling behind.

What happened next has become a touching moment that made the pair famous for all the right reasons.

Demonstrating the true spirit of sport, Claire stopped, stooped down and hoisted Chloe up on her back.

Together, the twin sisters soldiered on towards the finish line, eventually coming in dead last.

Forever now being able to demand favours from her sister, Claire was the true hero of the whole day and provided a wonderful example of sportsmanship and selfless kindness.

Let's have more stories such as this, because it's what much of sport should really be all about.
