    • Ajax
    • Real Madrid
    • 90'+3 There goes the final whistle! And Real win it 4-0, although their copybook has been tarnished by those two late red cards!
    • 90'+2 Questions have got to be asked of Alonso and Ramos's intentions here - they were on bookings and both have seemingly looked to get a second one. They'll miss the meaningless Auxerre game now but will have the slate wiped clean for the knockout phase.
    • 90'+1 Now Ramos is sent off! What's going on? Ramos almost looks like he wants to get sent off... he's off for time-wasting and Real are down to nine men!
    • 86' Here's another Ajax change: Sulejmani off, Eriksen on.
    • 86' Alonso is sent off! Amazing! He picks up a second booking and he's off! He will miss the match against Auxerre!
    • 84' Suarez takes it... into the wall. Disappointing. Again.
    • 83' Suarez is brought down by Albiol right on the edge of the Real box... Albiol is booked and Ajax have a chance to save some face...
    • 81' Real make two changes... Benzema and Diarra off, Canales and Mateos on.
    • 80' GOAL! Ronaldo makes it four with a delightful penalty kick, dinked straight down the middle!
    • 80' Penalty! Emanuelson brings down Ozil in the box and Ronaldo has the chance for a second!
    • 79' Alonso delivers but it's slightly overhit... Ozil picks it up though and the danger is still there.
    • 78' Here come Madrid again... Di Maria cuts in from the left wing before firing on target! Deflected behind for another corner!
    • 76' Ajax make a change: De Jong off, Lindgren on.
    • 75' Ronaldo is over it... but Ozil takes it! He bends it round the wall and Stekeleburg is equal to it with a great save!
    • 74' Benzema wins a free-kick and Real have another free-kick in a dangerous position...
    • 72' De Zeeuw goes for goal again... and again it's off target.
    • 71' Game over... Real have been imperious tonight and they fully deserve this lead.
    • 70' GOAL! Ronaldo bags the goal he deserves! It's a terrible pass that gifts the ball to Di Maria... he jinks inside before lofting the ball over to Ronaldo who takes a touch and blasts across Stekelenburg and into the back of the net!
    • 69' Oooh! Cracking effort from Vertonghen! What a strike from the free-kick! But it's matched by an equally sharp save by Casillas!
    • 68' Suarez is nudged to the ground by Albiol and Ajax have a free-kick... Alonso is booked for throwing the ball away.
    • 65' Real make a change now: Pedro Leon off, Di Maria on.
    • 63' Nice, flowing forward move from Ajax which ends in De Zeeuw firing tamely wide. And still Casillas isn't brought into action.
    • 62' Suarez loses his footing as he attempts to get a shot off on goal... oh dear, that pretty much sums things up for the Dutch side tonight.
    • 61' Much ado about nothing really... although Ronaldo can consider himself unlucky to have been booked. Enoh, on the other hand, could easily have seen a second yellow for his late challenge... lucky boy.
    • 60' The ref decides to book Ronaldo.... replays show Enoh to have committed a late foul on Ronaldo, who wasn't happy, De Zeeuw needlessly got involved and he is also booked.
    • 59' There's a problem here as Ronaldo and De Zeeuw clash off the ball...
    • 58' This is a better period of play for Ajax... although De Jong is penalised for a shirt tug on Marcelo.
    • 57' Suarez takes it... but it's straight into the defensive wall.
    • 56' Suarez wins a free-kick off Alonso in what could be a dangerous position! And the crowd suddenly come to life!
    • 54' Benzema delivers a few stepovers to tease some space out of Van der Wiel... but his eventual shot on goal is over the bar!
    • 53' Real are just toying with their opponents here...
    • 52' Stekelenburg has to stretch to reach a cross, but his large frame allows him to claim.
    • 51' Madrid haven't won the Champions League for nine years, which is a long time for them. Could this be their year? Certainly on tonight's showing it could well be.
    • 50' Vertonghen is penalised and the ref calls him over for a word.
    • 49' It appears to be a question of how many Real can score now, not whether Ajax can get back into the game.
    • 48' Marcelo wins a free-kick with a superb Maradona turn on the ball... Real are really flying now.
    • 47' Ronaldo! Oooh! What a run! But Stekelenburg makes a fantastic save to put the ball onto the bar and over for a corner! Sensational stuff!
    • 47' De Zeeuw is welcomed to the game by a brisk sliding challenge from Marcelo.
    • 46' One change to tell you about at the break - El Hamdaoui replaced by De Zeeuw.
    • 46' Back underway in Amsterdam!
    • 45'+3 There goes the half-time whistle! And Jose Mourinho's side head in at the break 2-0 up and looking good!
    • 45'+2 Replays are showing that Arbeloa's strike took a deflection off an Ajax heel... so that's why it swerved so much!
    • 45'+1 Two goals up at the break and you can't really argue...
    • 45' Two minutes of added time to be played at the end of the first half...
    • 44' GOAL! Ronaldo's free-kick is only blocked as far as Arbeloa, who unleashes a stunning drive from 30 yards that swerves in the air so much that Stekelenburg is left rooted to the spot! What a goal! Real lead 2-0!
    • 43' Ronaldo lines up a free-kick... straight into the wall.
    • 41' Ronaldo heads off to hget his eye seen to... replays show there to have been contact with Anita's trailing arm, but not much and it certainly wasn't intentional.
    • 40' Real fired in 14 shots on target in the first game against Ajax, a competition high this season.
    • 39' Ronaldo goes down clutching his face... the ref blows, but only for offside, much to the Portuguese's dismay.
    • 38' Marcelo does well to get past his man on the Real left... he fires in a shot on target which Stekelenburg has to deal with!
    • 37' It had been coming that goal... the only surprise is that it wasn't Ronaldo on the scoresheet!
    • 36' GOAL! BENZEMA PUTS REAL INTO THE LEAD! Madrid take the free-kick quickly, short to Alonso, who dinks a ball forwad to Ozil who backheels on the volley down to Benzema.... he does the rest with a magnificent finish past Stekelenburg and Madrid have the lead they deserve!
    • 35' Here's another booking.... this time Enoh sees yellow for a lunge on Pedro Leon... there's no contact at all, but it's more for intent than anything else.
    • 34' Benzema! Oooh! Decent strike from the big striker, but straight at Stekelenburg, who does well to keep it out.
    • 33' Suarez himself takes the resulting free-kick, but his effort hits the wall and Real can break...
    • 32' Sergio Ramos goes into the book for a crude challenge from behind on Suarez...
    • 31' Before kick-off tonight, Real Madrid had fired in 36 shots on target, a joint-competition high.
    • 30' Half an hour on the clock and still no score in Amsterdam. Surprising really, considering some of the quality of Real Madrid's play.
    • 29' The crowd have started booing Ronaldo - you know he's playing well when that happens.
    • 28' In fact, Alonso's hurt himself making that block... play is stopped as the former Liverpool man is looked at.
    • 27' Sulejmani nearly gets a shot off on target... only Alonso's excellent block ensures he doesn't.
    • 26' Great run forward by Marcelo, but his little ball through for Benzema finds the striker offside and the flag goes up.
    • 25' Neat footwork in a tight space from Benzema leads to him firing a shot off on goal... but he rather stabs at it and it goes wide of the mark.
    • 24' The ref plays a good advantage with Arbeloa on the ground but nothing comes of it this time. Real look menacing every time they come forward though.
    • 23' Ronaldo now lines up a trademark long-range blockbuster... but it goes well wide.
    • 22' The ball falls kindly for El Hamadaoui around the six yard spot! How's he in so much space? Ah, he's a mile offside. The flag goes up and the excitement around the stadium dies down.
    • 21' Van der Wiel's having a torrid time here - he got absolutely turned inside out then by Ronaldo... not sure it was a pen though.
    • 20' Ronaldo wants a penalty here as he tumbles to the ground under Van der Wiel's challenge! No dice says the ref!
    • 19' Oooh! Benzema unleashes a vicious strike on goal from a narrow angle! Stekelenburg stands firm though and repels the Frenchman's effort!
    • 18' Mourinho's making friends on the touchline... this time with the assistant referee, who he's sharing a joke with.
    • 17' Ajax have a chance to build now but that's a really poor cross from Van der Wiel and the ball sails out for a throw.
    • 16' Benzema threatens to latch onto a ball through but he can't quite control it and Vertonghen is able to nod back to his keeper.
    • 15' Ajax have only won one of their last eight matches in Europe against Spanish opposition. Oh dear.
    • 14' Real are just playing the ball around now and Ajax can't quite get a sniff. That is until Arbeloa loses it and then Sulejmani is fouled rather agressively by Diarra.
    • 13' Ronaldo's running the show so far. What a player he still is.
    • 12' Ronaldo now fires a cross-shot low and hard past Stekelenburg... but there's no one up their in support of him and the chance goes begging.
    • 11' Nothing comes of it and Real come forward again, with Marcelo leading the attack... he plays it into Ronaldo, who gives it straight back with an audacious flick!
    • 10' Suarez looks to make a nuisance of himself in the Real box now... and Albiol is forced into conceding a corner!
    • 9' Ronaldo is up for this one tonight... and with him in that kind of form, Ajax are going to struggle.
    • 8' Another chance! Lovely stuff by Ronaldo to fashion the chance himself... his eventual prod finds Ozil, but his stab at goal in deflected behind for a corner!
    • 7' He should really have done better there... and Real should be in the lead.
    • 6' Ooh! Chance for Real! Benzema and Ronaldo combine until the ball pings off a defender's shin and into the path of Pedro Leon... but he takes too long over his shot and by the time he unleashes an effort on goal it's blocked!
    • 5' That's a nice turn by Anita to get himself out of a bit of trouble at the back. He strides forward to the half-way line before laying the ball off and letting someone else take over.
    • 4' Ronaldo looks for another free-kick, this time after a challenge by Enoh, but the ref's not having any of it. Ronaldo puffs out his cheeks and looks upset.
    • 3' Real are on the front foot straight away. But here come Ajax with their first attack of the night - Suarez gives it away to Alonso though.
    • 2' And Ronaldo wastes no time in winning his team's first free-kick of the night, Van der Wiel tripping the Portuguese forward on the left wing.
    • 1' And we're off! Under way in Amsterdam!
    • 19:44 It really is an impressive stadium, the Amsterdam ArenaA, even if it has a funny capital A at the end of its name.
    • 19:43 Here come the teams! Ajax are in their traditional red and white strip, Madrid are in their change kit of all dark blue.
    • 19:42 But tonight we're in Amsterdam, and backed by the vocal local crowd (albeit with some stick-less Spanish nutters in there too) and with Suarez in their starting line-up, Ajax might just fancy an upset.
    • 19:40 Ajax less so. They're in third place in Group G on four points having won one, drawn one and lost two, including a 2-0 defeat on the opening day to Madrid. An own-goal and Gonzalo Higuain's strike was their downfall that night.
    • 19:35 Real have been brilliant in the competition this season, although they head into tonight's encounter off the back of their only dropped points so far - a 2-2 draw against Milan at the San Siro.
    • 19:30 Slightly worrying news ahead of kick-off: Spanish police have intercepted a group of radical Madrid supporters who tried to fly to Amsterdam with 19 sticks of various sizes that they intended to use to fight Ajax fans. The "Ultras Sur" were stopped at Madrid's Barajas airport after trying to check in a bag containing the sticks. Amazingly, officers confiscated the weapons and allowed the fans to continue their journey to the Dutch capital, so there are some nice people at the ground tonight.
    • 19:25 For Madrid, Gonzalo Higuain and Sami Khedira both miss out through injury, but as you can see, it's not a bad team Mourinho is able to put out. Scary in fact.
    • 19:20 So Dracula himself Luiz Suarez starts despite having bitten an opponent's neck at the weekend. He's been sanctioned by the club, although his ban doesn't start until after last night. Funny that... Urby Emanuelson is fit enough to start despite complaining of a pain in his ankle but Prescas Oleguer does miss out with a hamstring problem. Florian Jozefzoon (knee) and Evander Sno (heart condition) remain sidelined.
    • 19:15 And the man in charge tonight is Scotland's very own Craig Thomson.
    • 19:10 AJAX: Stekelenburg, Van Der Wiel, Alderweireld, Vertonghen, Anita, Enoh, De Jong, Sulejmani, Suarez, El Hamdaoui, Emanuelson. Subs: Verhoeven, Eriksen, Ooijer, Lindgren, Tainio, De Zeeuw, Ozbiliz /// REAL MADRID: Casillas, Sergio Ramos, Albiol, Arbeloa, Marcelo, Lassana Diarra, Alonso, Ozil, Ronaldo, Pedro Leon, Benzema. Subs: Dudek, Pepe, Mahamadou Diarra, Granero, Mateos, Canales, Di Maria
    • 19:05 A draw or a win would be enough for Jose Mourinho's side to qualify as group winners; Ajax really cannot afford to lose this one. If they do, and Milan beat Auxerre in France, the Dutch side are out.
    • 19:00 Real Madrid travel to Amsterdam to take on Ajax hoping to confirm their progress into the knockout phase as Group G winners.
