    • Thanks for joining us this evening. Remember we have Early Doors from Spain tomorrow morning when we will pick over the bones of this encounter.
    • Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is apparently arguing with the referee about the decision to send off Van Persie, who is fuming with the red card. He has described it as a joke. Eurosport's Lee Walker has been at the Camp Nou this evening to savour the atmosphere. Follow him live from inside the ground now... Eurosport's Lee Walker live from the Camp Nou..

    • 90' Four minutes to be added to this one.
    • 89' Maxwell replaces Adriano for the home team. Clock against the visiting side.

    • 87' Mascherano has taken a sore one there. He is replaced by Seydou Keita.
    • 86' Barca almost caught out at the back! Bendtner's control lets him down from Wilshere's pass as Valdes saves under pressure from Mascherano.
    • 85' Alves almost tees up Messi for the hat-trick! Ball flies across goal. Should have been the fourth goal there and then. Chances continue to come and go.
    • 84' Almunia saves from Afellay after a fine pass from Messi. Barca just rampaging through that visiting defence. Arsenal look to tired.
    • 83' Alves picks up a pass from Iniesta, but Arsenal somehow scramble the ball away. Really frantic defending from the visiting side.
    • 82' Afellay dashes through on goal. Djourou stays with him from Adriano's pass, but he flicks the shot wide of goal.
    • 81' Villa departs to be replaced by Ibrahim Afellay for Barca. Bit of a surprise perhaps.
    • 80' Messi deemed to be offside after forcing a fine stop from Almunia. Just so easy for the home team.
    • 79' Alves continues to make runs almost at will. He is deemed to be offside as he dashed beyond the back line of the home team.
    • 78' Barcelona with 16 shots on goal, compared to nothing from the visiting side. Says it all really.
    • 77' Another stunning stop from Alumunia to save from Messi. The keeper has had a fine match this evening. Nothing he can do about this scoreline.
    • 76' Fabregas departs after a forgettable night to be replaced by Nicklas Bendtner.
    • 75' Barca will all their players back, which is not a sight you have seen much of this evening. Fabregas is deemed to be offside from Arshavin's pass.
    • 74' The home crowd in party mood. They feel like the tie has been won. Arsenal need another goal. If the 10 men can score, they would be through on away goals. Still hope yet..
    • 73' Koscielny somehow avoids another yellow and a red card after a late tackle on Villa. He will walk surely for another late challenge.
    • 72' Going to be a change for the visiting side. Rosicky departs to be replaced by Arshavin.
    • 71' Adriano whacks the shot well wide of the goal. High and not so handsome from distance. Barca well in control.
    • 70' GOAL FOR BARCELONA! Messi rolls the ball low to the left of Almunia. No chance for the keeper. A 45th goal of the season for Messi. Barca lead 3-1 on the night. 4-3 on aggregae.
    • 69' PENALTY TO BARCA! Koscielny takes down Pedro late and that is a penalty. No doubt about that one. Chance for the home side to move ahead in the tie.
    • 68' Arsenal on the brink of exiting the tournament, you have to feel. Down to 10 men and suddenly Barca hold all the aces. The tie is level overall at 3-3 and on away goals.
    • 67' GOAL FOR BARCELONA! Xavi slips the ball beyond Almunia and the home side are back level at 3-3 on aggregate. Iniesta to Villa to Xavi. Wonderful, wonderful stuff...
    • 66' Messi attempts to control the ball in the area, but he is guilty of using his arm, says the referee. Almunia whacks a free-kick up the park. Can the Gunners survive this? That is the only question now.
    • 65' Superb stop by Almunia! Villa looked certain to score, but the keeper spread himself bravely to stop that shot from hitting the net. Lovely pass by Messi.
    • 64' Adriano continues to look for the extra pass. Just giving the visiting players that extra second to make the tackle. Sagna tries to find Nasri, but nothing doing there.
    • 63' Sagna is muscled off the ball by Adriano. Wilshere pulls out of a tackle. If he makes any errors in the tackle, the Gunners will be down to nine men. Barca back on the attack.
    • 62' Great tackle by Djourou to deny Messi space. Xavi fails to pick out Pedro. Ball safely back with Almunia, who launches it long.
    • 61' Almunia takes a boot in the head from Pedro. Free-kick to the visiting side. Arsenal making so many mistakes in trying to pass themselves out of trouble.
    • 60' Apparently the time between Van Persie's shot and the referee's whistle was a second. That is a disgraceful decision. Arsenal have a right to feel hard done by.
    • 59' Abidal bounds back to close down Diaby. This has given Barca the chance to break at the other end, but Alves lifts his shot over the bar. Somehow we remain at 1-1 on the night. An hour gone.
    • 58' A stunning shot from Adriano. A fierce cross or shot flies across goal, but Barca pick the ball up seconds later.
    • 57' Almunia saves from Villa. Arsenal whack the ball anywhere. This is desperate stuff from Arsenal. Somehow they retain the lead in the tie. Barca continue coming forward, as they have done all night.
    • 56' VAN PERSIE IS OFF! He is sent off for booting the ball away. A second yellow. He complains that he didn't hear the whistle for offside, but the referee has made the decision. Arsenal down to 10 men. As if life wasn't difficult enough..
    • 55' Well, quite unbelievable. The state of play: Arsenal lead 3-2 on aggregate. They only need to keep Barca out to reach the last eight. Still remains a big if.
    • 54' Almunia takes a boot in the face as Villa threatened to restore the home side's lead. Brave keeping. Arsenal survive that attack.
    • 53' GOAL FOR ARSENAL! Nasri throws over a corner and Busquets has nodded into this own net. Would you believe it! An equaliser. Great news for the Gunners.
    • 52' Abidal tackles Nasri and suddenly Arsenal have a corner. Chance here for the visiting side.
    • 51' Arsenal hemmed in as Messi tries a pass through the middle, but Djourou does enough to clear the ball.
    • 50' Xavi's corner is headed backwards by Abidal. Djourou knocks the ball behind seconds later. Pressure is relentless. Arsenal can't get out.
    • 49' Villa plays in Messi, but can't pick out Xavi. The visiting side give the ball away. Clicky tackles Messi and the home team have a corner.
    • 48' Wenger has apparently told his players to show Barca how tough they are in the second period. Something has to change in this match. Barca continue to work hard as Sagna takes a throw-in deep in his half.
    • 47' A little crumb of comfort for the Gunners. No side has kept a clean sheet in the previous meetings between these teams, which should give the Gunners a bit of hope. Barca back on the ball.
    • 46' 18 minutes of a break at the interval, but the nets have been checked by the linesmen and we are ready to go in the second period. Arsenal kick off.
    • Eurosport's Lee Walker is sampling the atmosphere inside the Camp Nou. See what he has to say after a pretty forgettable first period for the home team. Follow Lee Walker LIVE at the Camp Nou..
    • 45+5' The whistle goes for the half-time whistle! Barca well in control out there. Arsenal have to score in the second half otherwise they are out of the tournament.
    • 45+3' Guardiola is punching his fists in delight. Barca now lead on away goals. Can't say that goal wasn't coming. Has been all Barca this evening. Just to confirm that Wilshere was booked earlier on for his foul on Iniesta.
    • 45+2 GOAL FOR BARCELONA! Messi chips the ball over Almunia before smashing the ball into the empty net. Horrid mistake by Fabregas to give the ball away. Lovely pass by Iniesta to play in Messi.
    • 45+1' Super stuff from Messi! So much space in the visiting area, but he rattles the shot straight at Almunia from 18 yards. Best chance of the half, but he can't take advantage.
    • 44' We are into five minutes of time added on in this half..
    • 43' Van Persie takes out Alves late. Really stupid booking. He shoved the Brazilian to the deck.
    • 42' Wilshere down after a tackle from Mascherano. He needs treatment. Iniesta inferring that the young man is faking the injury. Abidal grabs the neck of Van Persie. Lucky the referee never spotted that.
    • 41' Van Persie wins Arsenal's first corner of the night. Came off him, but the linesman decides it came off a home shirt. Corner comes to nothing as Barca clear.
    • 40' Abidal needing a bit of treatment after a late one by Rosicky. Guardiola back out of his technical area.
    • 39' Another OptaJoe stat: "Manuel Almunia has conceded eight goals in 250 minutes of football against Barcelona for Arsenal before tonight. Correction." Follow OptaJoe on twitter
    • 38' Fabregas would be as effective sitting with a cup of tea in the stand at the moment. Abidal breaks through, but can't breach the defence. Clichy chests the ball back to Almunia.
    • 37' Xavi takes the free-kick, but can only find a yellow shirt before three Barca players are caught offside. Almunia hammers the dead ball long.
    • 36' Somehow Arsenal remain at 0-0. Somehow this game remains in favour of the visiting side overall. Alves is fouled by Clichy. Another free-kick to the home side.
    • 35' Wilshere is late on Iniesta. Crude challenge, but Messi's shot from the free-kick smacks into the wall. Solid stuff from the visiting wall.
    • 34' Desperate defending from Arsenal. Adriano clatters the outside of a post from an acute angle. That shot almost crept in.
    • 33' The home fans in full voice. Barca going at this again. Djourou gets the ball away from Messi. Wave after wave of Barca attack as we head for the last 10 minutes of the half.
    • 32' Adriano takes up a good position out wide. Throws the cross over, but nobody there to convert. Almunia then lucky to get away with a clearance after clattering the ball off the head of Koscielny.
    • 31' Villa races up the park. Gets the shot at goal, but no pace on the finish as Almunia makes the save. Barca continue to pile on the pressure.
    • 30' Barca continue to look for team-mates. Messi takes a tumble on the edge of the box. Diaby whacks him late, but no foul. Arsenal living dangerously.
    • 29' Iniesta picks the ball up. He finds Messi, who dances into the heart of the box, but Djourou is back to hoist the ball away.
    • 28' A thankless task so far the visiting side. Great tackle by Djourou on Messi before Pedro's shot. Had to make that tackle.
    • 27' Going to be another booking here. Sagna has been booked for Arsenal. Not sure what that one was for, but he is in the book as Barca build again.
    • 26' Pedro tries to lift a curling shot high into the right hand corner of Almunia's net from the edge of the area, but that is up and over the bar. The Gunners survive that one.
    • 25' Robin van Persie fouls Messi. Becoming a pretty familiar theme. One team attacks, the other defends. Arsenal on the back foot.
    • 24' Barca binging on an astonishing 77% of possession. That says it all really. Arsenal living off scraps with only 23% of possession. Can't keep that up surely.
    • 23' Can spot nine yellow shirts behind the ball as Mascherano flicks the pass to Iniesta. Alves throws the ball across goal, but too much pace for Villa to reach.
    • 22' Nasri has taken a sore one from Alves, and Wenger is not happy about that. Alves and Wilshere exchange "views". Looked like a good challenge, but he didn't pull out of it too quickly.
    • 21' Adriano tries to play in Villa, but that pass flies across goal. Arsenal squander possession immediately.
    • 20' Barca enjoying plenty of possession, but not really going anywhere with it. This will suit the visiting side at the moment.
    • 19' Eurosport's Lee Walker is not too pleased to see the arrival of Almunia in this one. "Nothing more upsetting for a Gooner than see Almunia remove the tracksuit top.." Follow Lee Walker LIVE at the Camp Nou
    • 18' Pedro almost picked up the pass from Villa from deep. Inches away. Barca really gaining the upper hand as Nasri runs the ball out of play at the other end.
    • 17' Szczesny is heading off injured. Maybe a dislocation. On comes Manuel Alumunia for the visiting side. He played in the 4-1 defeat to Barca here last season. Early blow for the Gunners, it must be said.
    • 16' Szczesny needing a bit of treatment to a finger injury. Think his finger was bent back. Arsene Wenger is studying his options as he prowls the touchline in a jacket that resembles a walking sleeping bag.
    • 15' Alves fires in the dead ball. Good take from Szczesny as he holds the shot. Bounced in front of him, but he is in a bit of pain out there. Game has been stopped for treatment.
    • 14' Koscielny has been booked for a foul on Pedro. Sticking to opponents like glue, but too close that time as the Barca man takes a tumble. Free-kick to the home side. 30 yards out.
    • 13' Xavi throws the corner into the area. Breaks to Alves, who tries to pick out Villa in the area, but Koscielny is on hand again to get the ball away. So far, so good for the Gunners.
    • 12' Alves closed down by Nasri and that is a corner to the home side which Xavi is going to take.
    • 11' Messi tackled superbly by Koscielny. Really superb defending from the Arsenal defender. Had to show some pace to get back there.
    • 10' Mascherano swings a ball right across the field of play to the feet of Adriano. Barca go backwards. Guardiola is out on the touchline making his feelings known.
    • 9' A quick tweet from OptaJoe. "Robin van Persie has scored just one of his 14 Champions League goals (excl. qualifiers) away from home; that coming in 2007. Challenge." Click here for OptaJoe on twitter..
    • 8' Flag goes up against Dani Alves as he galloped down the right flank. Looked like more than one was offside there. A lot of boos from the home support.
    • 7' Adriano dashes down the left flank. Looks up, but the pass is poor as the ball races back to Szczesny. Will take those all night long.
    • 6' Koscielny forced to make another superb intervention to knock the ball away from Messi. Can sense the danger every time Messi gets free in the box. Corner is again wasted before Alves clatters Fabregas moments later. Free-kick to the visiting side.
    • 5' Rosicky almost picked out Van Persie in the middle. Fine piece of play, but just too much pace on the pass. Goalkick to Barca. Game raging from end to end.
    • 4' Koscielny puts in a timely tacke to deny Pedro on the edge of the box in the opening minutes. Had to make that block otherwise could have been the opener. Barca dominating possession already. Corner comes to nothing.
    • 3' Push by Nasri on Alves. Free-kick to Barca. The visitors obviously pumped up. They are really pressing the home shirts. The home fans singing. Here come Barca on the attack.
    • 2' Barcelona have won their past eight matches at home. A 1-0 win would seal their spot in the last eight. Clichy catches Villa early on. Late tackle. Lucky to escape a booking there.
    • 1' Fabregas and Xavi shake hands before the match. Barcelona are going to get this one off and running. Hold on to your seats, folks. This could get interesting..
    • 19.40 The teams are on their way out. Arsenal are in yellow with Barcelona in their traditional home kits of blue and red. The Champions League music sounds, and we are almost ready to go in this one.
    • 19.38 With the tension mounting before kick-off, Eurosport's Lee Walker continues to offer up his views on the goings on from deep inside the heart of the Camp Nou.
    • 19.35 Here is Wenger discussing the decision to play Van Persie. "He worked very hard and he is fit to play, so there is no reason to leave him out," says Wenger. "There is no risk in play him tonight. He gives us confidence, and is important to the balance of the team. They are quite offensive, but so are we. It is vital that we believe we can do it."
    • 19.30 A bit more news on those key decisions by Wenger this evening to play Fabregas and Van Persie. Former Barca youth player Fabregas has not played since injuring his hamstring in the victory over Stoke almost two weeks ago and missed the Carling Cup final. Van Persie was substituted during Arsenal's Carling Cup final defeat against Birmingham after suffering a knee injury while scoring the equaliser at Wembley. Both are fit for action, which is the key news ahead of the big kick-off.
    • 19.25 So what about Barcelona? They don't have their troubles to seek, even if everybody in the football world feels otherwise. The La Liga leaders are without Carles Puyol due to injury and the suspended Gerard Pique, but Barca manager Pep Guardiola is confident his side can handle the tension of the occasion. " Click here: Barca can handle pressure of Arsenal game - Guardiola
    • 19.20 Here is a fact that Arsenal should be looking to exploit. "This is only the 2nd time that Barça start a competitive game with Abidal & Busquets as centre backs. Experiment." That information will no doubt have been noted by Arsene Wenger. Click here..OptaJoe on twitter.
    • 19.15 Eurosport's Lee Walker is out and about with his camera at the Camp Nou. In between sinking a few Mick Jaggers, he is sampling some of the sights around Europe's biggest football stadium. Does anybody remember the final between Arsenal and Barcelona in 2006? How long did the Arsenal keeper Jens Lehmann last that evening? Wojciech Szczesny you have been warned.. Click here for Lee Walker LIVE at the Camp Nou...
    • 19.10 Manager of many clubs Graeme Souness is making his thoughts clear on what lies in store for Wenger's side. "I think Arsenal might have to score twice tonight to go through," says the former Liverpool midfielder. Alan Smith feels that the Gunners can travel in confidence. "They beat Barcelona in the first leg, and that can give them confidence heading into the match." Wouldn't stick my mortgage on the Gunners this evening, but where there is life there is hope.

    • 18.55 There has been a lot of talk going on in the Eurosport office today about how this match is going to unravel. One of the learned members of our team has £10 on Emmanuel Eboué getting booked tonight. He got 4/1 on that from one bookmaker. Eboue doesn't start the match so his cash is looking in some danger. Arsenal are 17/2 in some quarters to get the job done in winning this evening. Anywhere, here is the reading from The Debate, when you got the chance to pick the brains of our pundits.. • 18.30 Team news should be available in the next 30 minutes. The big debate from an Arsenal point of view is whether or not Robin van Persie will start this evening. There are early suggestions that Van Persie may start on the bench despite suspected knee ligament damage with Cesc Fabregas in from the opening whistle after his hamstring problems. Time will tell if any of this is rumour or fact. Arsenal fans will be hoping both are fighting fit.
    • 18.25 Eurosport's resident Armchair Pundit Alex Chick has sat down over a cuppa, got his coaching hat on and thought about the problems that may face the Gunners this evening. He has come up with a few ideas of his own. Alex says: "As Arsene Wenger says on these pages today, you can't stop Leo Messi, but you can limit his impact. The time and space he was allowed to score his four goals at the Camp Nou last year defied belief, and Arsenal clearly cannot make the same mistake again." • 18.20 Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is relishing the trip to face Barcelona. His side lost 4-1 to Barcelona at this venue a year ago in the last eight after a 2-2 draw in the first leg.
