    • 90'+2 There goes the final whistle! And Barca win it 2-0! Rubin head out of the competition with barely a whimper...
    • 89' Messi! Ooooh! Wide of the mark from the Argentine ace!
    • 87' The home fans finally bring up some sustained noise as they celebrate another victory.
    • 85' So, Barca look to have ended Rubin's hopes this season, although the Russian side did themselves no favours...
    • 83' Mascherano puts in a typically robust challenge and Rubin have a free-kick.
    • 82' GOAL! BARCA MAKE IT TWO! Vazquez keeps his cool to finish after Busquets plays his in on goal! Excellent finish! 2-0 Barca!
    • 79' No, they go short instead and decide to just keep possession.
    • 78' Busquets wins a free-kick and Barca now have the chance to stick in a decent ball...
    • 76' Messi again hares off on another run to the heart of the Rubin defence... they're scared stiff of him - and rightly so!
    • 74' Rubin make another change... off goes Karadeniz and on comes Bystrov.
    • 73' Messi! Brilliant! He passes four Rubin players before seeing his eventual strike well blocked! He really has lit up this game!
    • 72' Prior to tonight, Messi has fired in 15 shots on target, the joint-most in the Champions League along with Cristiano Ronaldo.
    • 70' Twenty minutes remaining and it looks very bleak for Rubin - Copenhagen are 2-0 up in the other game.
    • 68' Vazquez lets fly from distance... it's a terrific strike, but it's well blocked!
    • 67' The goal and Messi's introduction have changed the tempo of the game completely. This is far more enjoyable to watch now.
    • 66' Messi again teases the Rubin defence... his control of the ball is simply sensational!
    • 65' Martins is sacrificed for Medvedev as Rubin make another change.
    • 65' Here comes Messi! He cuts inside across the face of the penalty area before unleashing a shot! Wide this time, but menacing!
    • 64' Barca are still dominating possession... and still Rubin are doing little to upset their play...
    • 63' So, there may well be more goals to come tonight now we have the mercurial Messi on the pitch.
    • 62' So too Barca.... here comes Leo Messi, on for Jonathan!
    • 61' Rubin make a change now... off goes Ryazantsev and on comes Kasaev.
    • 58' Barcelona have only allowed seven shots on target against them in the Champions league, the joint-fewest along with Marseille.
    • 56' Great run by Thaigo now... he bursts through the Rubin defence... this is more like it! It comes to nothing in the end, but Barca are already looking liberated by that goal!
    • 55' Rubin really have a mountain to climb now... a goal down and needing events to take a turn for the better in the other game... let's face it, they're going out.
    • 54' Here come Barca again now, looking for a second, but Adriano's shot is wayward.
    • 53' Rubin have won only two, but lost only three of their 11 Champions league matches.
    • 52' On possession, you have to say that Barca deserve the lead....
    • 51' GOAL! BARCA TAKE THE LEAD! It's far from the pretty goals you expect from Barca but it'll do! Thiago does well to waltz into the Rubin box before playing it back to Andreu Fontas who fires on target! It strikes Kaleshin on the way in, diverting the ball past the keeper and into the back of the net!
    • 48' The first half starts in much the same way the second ended: Barca playing the ball around, and a long range shot going wide.
    • 47' No changes to tell you about at the break... it's as you were.
    • 46' Back under way at the Camp Nou!
    • 45'+2 There goes the half-time whistle! And the teams head in goalless at the break after a pretty disappointing opening period.
    • 45'+1 Hand ball shout against Navas as the corner comes over! Not given!
    • 45' Here's a little chink in Rubin's back line though... Bartra nearly gets onto the end of a clever pass though... Kuzmin clears behind for a corner in the end!
    • 44' Two minutes of added time to be played at the end of the half...
    • 43' There's almost an air of a training ground game to this one at the moment... Barca are playing the ball around in midfield and Rubin are letting them.
    • 42' There has been little action to speak of this half... pretty disappointing, considering what is at stake for Rubin.
    • 40' Noboa takes the ball off Jonathan before the young Mexican petulantly kicks out in a desperate attempt to win it back. He fails and Rubin have a free-kick.
    • 38' Rubin absolutely need to win here, as things stand. There's been a goal in the other Group D game.... Copenhagen v Panathinaikos
    • 37' To be honest, it's making for a pretty dull game. Surely Rubin should have come out a little more adventurous.
    • 36' Barca are playing some neat passing football, but Rubin are well organised and quite happy to sit back and wait to counter attack.
    • 35' No, Bojan won't make it. He's whisked off in the buggy as another homegrown youngster Marc Bartra comes on to replace him. Any more substitutions tonight and we'll see one of the big boys come on.
    • 34' Kaleshin fires in a long-range shot... it's blocked.
    • 33' Actually, it looks like a facial injury for Bojan, so there's a good chance he'll come back on after being patched up.
    • 32' Barca down to 10 men for the time being as Bojan receives some treatment on the sideline... he may come back on.
    • 31' It doesn't look good for Bojan, who landed awkwardly.
    • 30' Bojan goes down under a heavy challenge by Bocchetti... he immediately calls for the trainer.
    • 28' Not much of an atmosphere in the Camp Nou tonight... the game has entered a slightly dull patch...
    • 27' Barca have enjoyed 76 per cent of possession so far - although they haven't really penetrated so far.
    • 26' Rubin get through the Barca back line on the break! But Karadeniz fires wide of the target!
    • 25' Thaigo again goes for goal... it's not a bad shot but it's dealt with by Ryzhikov...
    • 24' Well this is a little bizarre - Rubin keeper Ryzhikov is booked for time wasting. In the 24th minute. With them needing to score goals.
    • 23' Barca's bench tonight isn't bad - Messi, Valdes, Iniesta, Puyol and Abidal...
    • 22' The corner comes across and finds Pique.... there's a hint of hand ball but the ref doesn't spot it... nothing comes of the situation anyway.
    • 21' Dos Santos attempts to deliver a cross, but it's blocked behind for a corner!
    • 20' Only Manchester United have conceded fewer goals than the two shipped by Rubin Kazan this season.
    • 19' It's not the best free-kick though and Martins is able to celar easily enough.
    • 18' Back come Barca and Bojan wins a free-kick... good opportunity to whip a ball into the box now...
    • 17' Another chance for Rubin! It falls kindly to Karadeniz on the edge of the Barca box but his lash at the ball skews wide of the mark!
    • 16' Prior to this evening, Barcelona have only allowed seven shots on target against them in the Champions league, the joint-fewest along with Marseille.
    • 15' Lovely stuff from Adriano and Maxwell down the Barce left now! Super interchange between the two and they win a corner!
    • 14' Oooh! Ansaldi bursts forward down the Rubin left... he slightly slices his cross, but that nearly catches Pinto unawares! In the end the keeper is forced into making the save, low down at his near post!
    • 13' Needless to say, Vasquez is another product of Barca's youth system...
    • 12' This is disappointing for Jeffren... he's pulled something and he's forced off the pitch. Victor Vazquez comes on to replace him.
    • 11' At the other end, Martins gets past Pique but his cross is overhit and it sails all the way over the box.
    • 10' Maxwell lets fly from distance! But it's not the best shot ever witnessed at the Camp Nou and keeper Ryzhikov isn't troubled.
    • 9' Barca are just keeping the ball again now... Busquets and Mascherano are happy to play it among themselves in the middle for the time being.
    • 8' Martins is pulled up for a foul on Busquets and Barca have a free-kick deep in their own half.
    • 7' Good sliding challenge by Cesar Navas on Bojan.... he's a former Real Madrid B player so he's got plenty to prove tonight.
    • 6' Thiago fires in a long-range effort on the half-volley! Over the bar this time but a decent strike nevertheless!
    • 5' Here come Rubin now, on their first break of the night... but again the cross is poor; this time it sails over Pinto's bar for a goal kick.
    • 4' Adriano does well on the left to cut back inside, but his delivery into the box is poor and it is easily cleared.
    • 3' Barca are in control of this game already. Rubin have barely had a touch.
    • 2' Barca begin in a familiar fashion: playing the ball around and keeping it from their opponents.
    • 1' Here we go! Under way at the Camp Nou in Barcelona! Are we on for another shock result? Or are Barca's second string more than capable understudies?
    • 19:41 Gerrard Pique is the Barcelona skipper tonight. He tosses up with his Rubin counterpart Christian Noboa, the Ecuador midfielder.
    • 19:40 Here come the teams! Barca in their traditional Blaugrana and Rubin in all green.
    • 19:35 Unfortunately for Rubin, Roman Sharonov has failed to recover from injury and fellow defender Aleksandr Orekhov is out with a knee issue of his own. Carlos Eduardo (also knee) failed a late fitness test.
    • 19:30 Well, looking at the team sheet, Rubin will probably never have a better chance to get something from a game at the Camp Nou again. Barca boss Pep Guardiola has opted to send out a second string side, which is rather disappointing for anyone wanting to watch his masterful first XI play their beautiful brand of football. But fair enough, given they have nothing to play for.
    • 19:25 The man in charge in Barcelona tonight is Mr Jonas Eriksson (Sweden).
    • 19:20 Barcelona: 13-Jose Manuel Pinto; 21-Adriano Correia, 3-Gerard Pique, 26-Andreu Fontas, 19-BARCELONA: Maxwell; 30-Thiago Alcantara, 16-Sergio Busquets, 14-Javier Mascherano, 34-Jonathan dos Santos; 11-Jeffren, 9-Bojan Krkic /// RUBIN KAZAN: 77-Sergei Ryzhikov; 2-Oleg Kuzmin, 27-Salvatore Bocchetti, 4-Cesar Navas, 3-Cristian Ansaldi; 8-Aleksandr Ryazantsev, 19-Vitaly Kaleshin, 16-Christian Noboa, 15-Rafat Murawski; 28-Obafemi Martins, 61-Gokdeniz Karadeniz.
    • 19:15 Barca may of course be out to put Rubin in their place after only managing a 1-1 draw in the first fixture back in September. Then, David Villa had to rescue a point after Christian Noboa had given the Russian side the lead. And, of course, Rubin won here last season with that famous 2-1 win.
    • 19:10 Put simply, Rubin have to win or get a high-scoring draw in Barcelona to stand any chance of going through. If they lose, Copenhagen will join Barca in the knockout phase.
    • 19:05 Barcelona are in the knockout round as group winners, meaning this game is of real interest to Rubin only.
    • 19:00 Welcome to our coverage of Barcelona v Rubin Kazan at the Camp Nou in the final game of Group D.
