    • - Well, that's it for tonight folks! Werder Bremen and Spurs have battled out a 2-2 draw in Germany, putting all four Group A teams perfectly level after the opening games. Still everything to play for for Harry's men when they face FC Twente next, on the 29th of September. See you then!
    • - There's a bit more argy bargy off the ball at the final whistle, with Theo Janssen angrily pointing to his eye after some shoving from McDonald Mariga before the corner. Eto'o flies in with some pushing and shoving of his own, but the referee quickly calms things down. Unfortunately, that's pretty much the story of the second half.
    • 90+3' Sneijder swings in the freekick, which is headed out for a corner. Twente clear the corner once again, and the referee blows his whistle to signal the end of the game!
    • 90+2' Douglas goes into the book in the closing minutes, after a rather robust aerial challenge on Coutinho, followed by some equally robust whinging to the referee
    • 90+1' The atmosphere remains tremendous in Enschede, with the Twente fans more than content with their side's performace this evening.
    • 90' Inter hoof the ball long to the Twente defenders, who swiftly return the favour. The referee's assistant signals three minutes of added time.
    • 89' We're into the final moments of normal time now, and both managers look to have settled for a point today
    • 88' Twente make another change of their own in response. Nacer Chadli goes off for Denny Landzaat, the former Wigan Athletic midfielder.
    • 86' Inter line up a final change, with striker Diego Milito going off for midfielder Sulley Muntari. Is Rafa shutting up shop?
    • 85' It's far from over here though, with Inter in possession and five minutes of normal time still to play. Can the visitors steal a late winner to start their title-defence with a win?
    • 84' It's all square in Germany, by the way, where Werder Bremen have equalised against Spurs to make the score 2-2. As things stand all four sides will be level in Group A, with one point each and level on goals scored.
    • 83' Janssen picks up the ball about 25 yards out, and gives the Ronaldinho look-away as he plays a deft ball over the top of the defence to DE JONG! The striker stretches his boot out to meet the ball but just can't reach it! Sublime, again, from Janssen.
    • 82' Sneijder advances with the ball for Inter, and picks out Milito. The striker tries to play a first-time ball square to Eto'o, but it's nowhere near its target and Twente regain possession.
    • 81' Twente steal the ball back and try to counter, but the linesman flags for offside straight away.
    • 80' Inter pass the ball patiently along the half-way line, as the clock ticks over into the final 10 minutes of this match.
    • 79' It's a teasing delivery, but once again Twente are solid enough in their own box to get the ball clear.
    • 78' Sneijder has a freekick wide on the right for Inter...
    • 76' Twente line up their first substitution of the night, with Marc Janko making way for Emir Bajrami
    • 75' Twente have the ball on the right in their own half, and switch left to Janssen in acres of space. The midfielder advances, before lashing a woeful effort wildly over the bar from about 50 yards. Wasteful.
    • 74' It's becoming end to end now! Coutinho is given too much time just inside the box, and squares for the advancing Mariga to shoot. The Kenyan makes solid contact, but drags his low shot inches wide of the left post.
    • 73' Janko breaks for Twente along the left wing, but his left-foot cross is easily taken by Cesar.
    • 72' Milito has the ball 20 yards out, and tries to play to Cambiasso's feet in the box. The Argentine midfielder goes down clutching his face under hardly any pressure from the defender, and that's a shocking display of gamesmanship from the Inter veteran.
    • 71' Bryan Ruiz brings down a diagonal ball on the right wing, before appearing to win a corner after Zanetti's sliding challenge. The linesman disagrees, however, and gives Inter the goal kick.
    • 69' Eto'o goes outside and sends a square ball low to COUTINHO! GREAT SAVE! Mihailov blocks the first-time shot well to keep out the teenage sub, and Twente hoof the ball clear. Wonderful football from Eto'o
    • 68' Slick passing from Inter to get the ball to Eto'o in the Twente box, but the home side form a red wall in front of the Cameroonian and give him absolutely no space to shoot
    • 67' Samuel goes down in the centre-circle for an Inter freekick.
    • 66' Nice two-touch football again from the home side to advance from the half way line, but once again Roberto Rosales hits an utterly awful attempt at a cross high over the bar.
    • 65' There's very little football being played at the moment, but Twente have the ball at the back and will look to finally settle into this second half
    • 64' This doesn't look good for Mariga, who goes down after a nothing challenge on de Jong. He limps off to the sidelines
    • 63' He does! It wasn't a very good one, mind you, swerving some distance high and wide of the goal.
    • 62' Inter have another freekick, a good 35 yards out. Sneijder is standing over it menacingly, surely he won't try a shot from there?
    • 61' It's getting tasty out there now! Mariga flies into a challenge on Janssen, and the Twente midfielder is none too pleased about it. Handbags galore.
    • 60' Inter confirm the substitution: the 18-year-old Brazilian Philippe Coutinho comes on in place of the stricken Pandev.
    • 59' The Macedonian is carried off on a stretcher, and it doesn't look like he'll be coming back on.
    • 58' This doesn't look good at all for Pandev, who is still down.
    • 57' He tries to play a one-two with Eto'o into the box but finds himself the recipient of a rigorous challenge from that man Dwight Tiendalli! He's really thrown himself around tonight, but he did appear to catch the ball with his slashing slide.
    • 56' It's all Inter again, and Pandev has the ball in the middle
    • 55' Inter have all the time in the world on the edge of Twente's area, and Sneijder takes four or five touches before smashing a right foot shot into a red shirt. There were options either side for the Dutch midfielder then...
    • 53' Maicon tries to play a one-two with Sneijder on the right wing, but finds his path blocked. He was rather looking for the freekick, and the referee decides not to give him one. Serves him right. Sort of.
    • 52' Wisgerhof plays a dangerous game against Milito, waiting for the last possible moment to spread the ball wide from centreback.
    • 51' STAT TIME! FC Twente have completed 183 passes so far to Inter's 210.
    • 50' Inter commit men forwards, but Twente are working hard again at the start of this half, closing the space effectively
    • 49' Twente play some wonderful approach play, with a series of one-touch triangular passing to work the ball from the half way line to the edge of the box. The ball is eventually swung in from the right wing, but Maicon watches it out for an Inter throw.
    • 48' CRRRUNCH! Maicon's up for it this half then! The Brazilian fullback flies into a sliding challenge on Nacer Chadli, getting plenty of the ball, and plenty more of the man! He can't complain too much as he becomes the first player to enter the book
    • 47' Igor says: "Benitez isn't bad, he won almost everything with Valencia and with Liverpool he won CL, only in last 2/3 years he didn't do well." MichaelS isn't convinced, however; "Why did Inter hire Benitez? We all know jobs with Italian clubs are very precarious so expect Benitez to be gone within 2 years!"
    • 46' The players are back out for the second half, and Twente immediately form a group huddle in the middle of the pitch. Can they force another goal here tonight?
    • - Photo: Sneijder celebrates his opening goal for Inter
    • - It's just gone half-time in Group A's other match too, and Spurs are enjoying a 2-1 lead in Germany! The Premier League side will be kicking themselves, however, having allowed the hosts a lifeline in the match with a goal in the 43rd minute. For all the details of that match, head over here.
    • 45+1' The referee blows for half-time, and what a first half that was! Twente have more than matched the illustrious Nerazurri, with Theo Janssen's set-piece play a thing of beauty!
    • 45' They almost do more than that! Chadli swings in a tempting cross from the right touchline, and Janko heads just over from five yards out! Another chance goes begging for the hosts.
    • 44' Twente back on the ball, and desperately try to keep hold of it for a while
    • 42' It's all Inter now, with Twente scrambling a cross clear before watching the visiting midfield try some target practise from 25 yards. The ball eventually flies over the bar, but Inter regain the ball back straight from the goal kick
    • 41' GOAL! ETO'O EQUALISES! Milito lays off to the Cameroonian, who plays a one-two with Pandev on the edge of the box and places a low-first time shot just inside Mihailov's left post! Stunning finish from the former Barcelona striker, who could have put that ball through the eye of a needle.
    • 40' Milito does well to keep the ball under pressure on the edge of the Twente penalty area.
    • 39' Inter are in full control of possession at the moment, but have still only had two shots on goal this half. Twente, on the other hand, have had five.
    • 38' Another sweeping cross from the left from Inter, but Mihailov rises highest to pluck it out of the air
    • 37' Tiendalli throws himself into another slightly reckless challenge, this time on Pandev. Any more of that, and he'll find himself in the referee's book for sure.
    • 36' That was better from Inter, who are going to have to really chase this game now
    • 35' After a lengthy spell of pressure, Eto'o dinks a lovely ball through to Esteban Cambiasso, who drags a first-time left footed effort across the face of goal and onto the bar from five yards out!
    • 33' Inter enjoying some more possession at the moment, trying to dictate play for the first time in this match
    • 32' This is just stunning from the hosts, who are breaking against Inter like water over rocks at the moment. The guests will be happy to sit back and punch on the break, but Twente are really making their long spells of possession count in this first half.
    • 31' OWN GOAL! TWENTE GO AHEAD! Janssen whips the ball wickedly to the near post, and Diego Milito glances the ball expertly into the back of his own net! Who knows what the striker was thinking then, but Twente don't care, they take the lead with 31 minutes played!
    • 30' Jansses prepares to take the corner...
    • 29' Janssen whips it in... WHAT A SAVE! Cesar claws the dipping, curling ball out of the top left corner, and that was another tremendous freekick from the Twente midfielder!
    • 28' There's a brief pause for the referee to sort out Inter's wall...
    • 27' Janssen lines it up again...
    • 26' Twente are givign a really good account of themselves at the moment, playing the ball quickly around the midfield as Brama draws another foul from Lucio, some 25 yards out.
    • 25' It goes right through the defence to the far post, but there's no red shirt there to tap it in! Sloppy defending from Rafa Benitez's men. Mind you, at least they weren't zonal-marking!
    • 24' Dwight Tiendalli lets fly from 25 yards out, and Cesar plays safe with a punch over the crossbar. Another corner for Twente...
    • 23' Maicon is running with a pronounced limp at the moment, after getting clipped on the ankle
    • 22' Janko does incredibly well to bring down a long ball at the far post with his chest, but the left foot snap-shot on the spin trickles harmlessly wide for a goal kick
    • 21' Twente back on the ball, and that goal has lifted the entire stadium!
    • 20' GOAL! WHAT A FREE KICK! Janssen curls the free-kick right into the top corner with his left boot, leaving Julio Cesar helpless! Fabulous strike.
    • 20' Theo Jansen steps up to take the free-kick...
    • 19' Twente break immediately themselves, and Walter Samuel commits an old-school foul right on the edge of the area, with a clumsy boot through the back of Bryan Ruiz.
    • 18' Schneider and Milito link up on the break, and the ball almost bobbles through TO SNEIJDER OFF BRAMA'S HEAD! Great goalkeeping from Mihailov, who charges out to collect the ball before Schneider can get a touch!
    • 17' Twente again clear the corner comfortably
    • 16' Pandev cuts in from the right, and switches to Eto'o on the left wing. The Cameroonian cuts inside too, and clips an early right footed effort just over the bar! The linesman flags for a corner, so it must have taken the slightest of deflections...
    • 15' It's cruel on Twente, who have probably been the more effective team in the opening quarter of an hour, but Inter score from their first real chance, which is exactly what you'd expect from the reigning European champions!
    • 14' GOAL! That's what Inter can do on the break! Straight from Cesar's punch, Inter commit numbers forwards and are duly rewarded. Diego Milito, Inter's two goal hero in last season's Champions League final, breaks into the penalty area from the left, and forces a decent save from Mihailov. The keeper palms the ball clear, but only as far as Wesley Sneijder, who hammers the ball into the empty net!
    • 13' The first is cleared behind by the first man, but Janssen's second effort forces a strong punch from Cesar.
    • 12' Twente win another corner off Zanetti. Theo Janssen to take...
    • 11' Lucio's foot is a yard off the ground as he slides in on Nacer Chadli, but the Brazilian's challenge is right on the ball, and the ref waves play on.
    • 10' Mariga picks up the ball on the edge of the area for Inter, who can break, but the Kenyan just hoofs the ball long and it falls to a red shirt.
    • 9' Bryan Ruiz tries to be clever on the right wing for Twente, but sees his over-ambitious backheel almost go out for a throw. Samuel Eto'o is back for Inter, and that's fabulous harrying from the wing-forward to win the ball back deep
    • 7' Twente go route one, with a thumped ball into Julio Cesar's box. The Brazilian keeper bravely punches clear, and Sneijder draws another free-kick from the rebound. The home side are going to have to look out for that this evening, Sneijder's going down rather easily at the moment!
    • 6' Chadli shows some flashy footwork on the left wing for Twente, and swings in a cross to de Jong at the far stick! Just over the target-man's head!
    • 5' Inter clear their lines comfortably, but that's promising from the hosts, who look intent on taking the fight to their illustrious visitors from the off
    • 4' Twente earn their first corner of the night...
    • 3' It's swung in towards the far post, but easily headed clear by an organised Twente backline
    • 2' Wesley Sneijder takes a tumble after some nothingy pressure from Wout Brama, and wins a free-kick from some 35 yards on the left wing
    • 1' Inter get the match underway! Playing from right to left in their traditional black and blue stripes, Eto'o immediately plays back to Julio Cesar
    • 19:40 The teams are lined up in the tunnel! We're approximately five minutes away from kick-off in De Grolsch Veste!
    • 19:35 Well, the team line-ups make this evening look even more ominous for the home side! Inter start with 10 of the players who lined up against Bayern Munich in the Champions League final in May, with the fabulously-named Kenyan McDonald Mariga coming in for the injured Christian Chivu, who doesn't even make the bench. The good news for Inter fans is that Maicon, a pre-match injury concern is, has been deemed fit to start.
    • 19:30 The referee this evening is Mr. Pedro Proenca, from Portugal. I'm going to call him PP. From P.
    • 19:25 TWENTE: Mihailov, Rosales, Franco, Wisgerhof, Tiendalli, Brama, de Jong, Janssen, Ruiz, Janko, Chadli. Subs: Boschker, Kuiper, Bengtsson, Landzaat, Bajrami, Parker, Buysse.

    • 19:15 Tonight's other Group A match sees Tottenham Hotspur taking on Werder Bremen in Germany. To keep tabs on how they get on, click here! (Make sure you come back though...!)
    • 19:10 The signs look ominous for the Dutch champions tonight: Inter have yet to be beaten in Europe by a team from the Netherlands, and Barcelona are the only side to have defeated the Italian treble-winners in Europe since the 2008/9 season.
    • 19:05 This is the first meeting between these two sides in European competition, and FC Twente's first ever appearance in the Champions League proper, having been eliminated at the qualifying stage for the last two years running!
    • 19:00 Good evening and welcome to our live text commentary of Inter Milan's opening Champions League clash against FC Twente at De Grolsch Veste, Holland!
