    • Tottenham Hotspur
    • Werder Bremen
    • 90' And that's the final whistle. Spurs have beaten Werder Bremen 3-0 and ease into the last 16 of the Champions League. They have also secured a rare clean sheet. They're making the Champions League look easy! Thanks for following the action with me tonight.
    • 90' Kranjcar went for it but it skims the top of the bar.
    • 90' Having said that, Modric has won a free kick for Spurs 25 yards out. Kaboul and Kranjcar are standing over it...
    • 89' The game is fizzling out to a predictable conclusion. Spurs seem happy with 3-0 and, strangely, so do Bremen.
    • 86' Bargfrede has fouled Modric, who is hobbling.
    • 84' Marin shoots, Gomes saves. Toothless.
    • 82' Bale leaves the field to a wonderful ovation.
    • 80' Spurs sub: Kranjcar on, Bale off
    • 79' Bremen sub: Thy on, Hunt off
    • 78' Bale is involved again as his cross brushes the top of the bar and falls to Lennon on the opposite side. Lennon rolls the ball to Crouch, who can't miss from close range. Tap-in.
    • 77' GOAL! Crouch makes it 3-0 Spurs.
    • 76' Great counter attack by Spurs after Marin gave the ball away. Defoe carried the ball forward and waited for Gareth Bale to arrive on his left. Defoe found Bale, but Bale's first time shot goes inches wide of the far post. Very close.
    • 74' Defoe gets into the box and tries to duck and twist and weave his way past Bargfrede, who stands up well to him.
    • 72' Wave after wave of Spurs attack but Bremen are somehow keeping this respectable. Not quite working for Spurs at the moment, who deserve at least 3.
    • 69' Another strong run from Hutton who is looking for Defoe. The ball eventually runs to Lennon who shoots from the edge of the box but it strikes Defoe. Who found it all very funny.
    • 67' Marin attacking Spurs again but Gallas does a superb job of putting himself between Marin and the ball, as it trickles into Gomes's hands.
    • 65' Marin breaks for Spurs after Hutton gives it away but Luka Modric gets back to deny Marin. Great play by Modric again. The little man has been fantastic again tonight.
    • 64' Gareth Bale is playing like he has a point to prove after that penalty miss! A tremendous cross in from the left is met by Wiese, who makes a crucial touch.
    • 62' Alan Hutton cuts in from the right and sends a curler at the Bremen goal but Wiese gathers. Good driving run by the Scot.
    • 60' This is Defoe's Champions League debut, by the way.
    • 59' Bargfrede has committed yet ANOTHER foul, this time on Hutton. It's been constant.
    • 57' Spurs sub: Defoe on, Pavlyuchenko off
    • 56' Bremen sub: Ayik on, Kroos off
    • 55' White Hart Lane has fallen silent. It was a bit too casual by Bale.
    • 55' Kroos was booked for that foul on Modric, by the way.
    • 54' Bale's missed! He went for power and Wiese saves it.
    • 53' PENALTY TO SPURS. Modric is felled by Kroos. Bale to take...
    • 52' How did Crouch miss? Bale did all the hard work and put a deep cross right onto Crouch's head - but he made poor contact and the ball went wide. Bad miss.
    • 51' Wonderful curling free kick. Imagine Beckham, but left-footed.
    • 50' Bale hits the bar with the free kick! Wiese was rooted to the spot.
    • 49' Prodl is carded for a foul on Lennon on the right corner of the box. Chance for Spurs...
    • 48' But the ball goes straight into Gomes's arms.
    • 47' Bremen have won a free kick wide on the right and a couple of big men are coming forward for this.
    • 46' The second half is underway.
    • 45' Join me in 15 minutes for the second half. At half time, why not follow me on Twitter at Twitter.com/mjdasilva
    • 45' That's half time at White Hart Lane. Spurs lead Bremen 1-0.
    • 45' Hutton's ball into the box is nodded down by Crouch to Modric, who sidesteps his marker to get the space to poke the ball home from close rnage. Spurs in the driving seat.
    • 45' GOAL! Modric makes it 2-0 Spurs
    • 44' His corner finds Kaboul, but his header is off target.
    • 43' Bale goes on a trademark mazy run and shoots from the edge of the box. Deflected out for a corner. Bale to take...
    • 41' Fritz sees yellow for dragging back Bale. That's been coming.
    • 40' Marin finds Jensen on the edge of the box but Gallas is there to intercept.
    • 38' Bale hits a free kick deep from the right to Crouch, but Wiese does just enough to clear. He was flapping at that though.
    • 36' Big miss by Pavlyuchenko. Lennon gets into acres of space on the right wing again, pulls his cross back to the Russian who didn't have the confidence to shoot first time. His touch gave Mertesacker the chance to position himself to block. Wasteful by Pavlyuchenko there, should be 2-0.
    • 34' Assou-Ekotto takes a chance by trying to dribble out of his own penalty box, but is fouled. Lucky boy.
    • 32' Spurs have definitely lost their momentum since Jenas's exit.
    • 30' Hutton is fouled but the referee lets play go on with Bremen attacking Hutton's vacant position. But Palacios gets across to cover for Hutton with a superb tackle to halt the Bremen counter attack.
    • 29' The game has become a scrappy affair in the last few minutes.
    • 27' Bremen getting stronger, with Spurs surrendering possession too easily at the moment. Marin looks for Wagner again with a cross from the right but it's just too high for Wagner to connect.
    • 25' Bale's free kick is just over the bar. Was dipping.
    • 25' Bargfrede hacks Pavlyuchenko down from behind 25 yards out. Free kick in Gareth Bale territory...
    • 23' Great chance for Spurs created by guess who? Yes, Bale. He beats Fritz with ease and finds Crouch with his cross. Crouch lays the ball to Pavlyuchenko, but the Russian gets caught in two minds and neither shoots nor passes back to Crouch and, in the end, the chance goes. Too intricate.
    • 22' Spurs have taken their foot of the gas since taking the lead.
    • 21' Hunt tries his luck from long-distance but the shot flys wide.
    • 20' Losing Jenas so early is a blow for Spurs. Looked like a calf injury.
    • 19' Spurs sub: Palacios on, Jenas off
    • 18' Infact he's walked straight down the tunnel...
    • 17' Jenas is down injured an he doesn't look good.
    • 16' Bremen clear and launch an attack with Marin, who plays the ball wide to Wagner on the right. Modric and Assou-Ekotto combine to dispossess him.
    • 14' Assou-Ekotto 'does a Bale' and teases the full back before putting a deep cross in for Crouch. It's too high for Crouch but Spurs have a corner.
    • 12' Spurs in complete control here. Bremen look lost out there at the moment.
    • 11' Bale puts a free kick in from the right that is only half cleared to Jenas. Jenas shoots from the edge of the box but it was always rising.
    • 10' Spurs clear.
    • 9' Marin looks for Wagner with a dinked cross from the left and the ball is flicked out for a Bremen corner.
    • 8' That's 2 in 2 games for Kaboul after he had waited 2 years for a goal.
    • 7' Bale's corner is flicked clear but finds it's way to Lennon on the opposite flank. Lennon beats his man, pulls a cross back to Kaboul, who was still in the box from the corner, who hit his shot into the ground and into the back of the net. Not the cleanest contact but they all count.
    • 6' GOAL! Kaboul makes it 1-0 to Spurs!
    • 5' Bale wins a corner on the left and whips it in himself. It's headed clear, but at the expense of another.
    • 4' Spurs win a free kick on the left but Assou-Ekotto hoofs it straight out of play on the opposite flank. That was awful.
    • 3' Spurs controlling possession so far, but a slow start to this one. Neither side making serious inroads.
    • 2' Marin tests Hutton with an early run from the left but Hutton catches up with the German danger man and puts a foot in.
    • 1' And we're underway.
    • 19.40 The players have emerged from the tunnel at White Hart Lane and the Champions League theme is ringing out. We are just a couple of minutes away from kick off.
    • 19.30 The clubs shared a 2-2 draw on Matchday 1 and more goals appear likely on the evidence of Tottenham's games so far in the Champions League. The London club's six matches, qualifying included, have produced 29 goals and at home they have scored 11 in three.
    • 19.20 Bremen's hopes took a huge dent with a home defeat by FC Twente in their last match, a result that leaves them three points adrift at the bottom and still seeking their first win. If Twente earn a point at Inter in the group's other fixture, Bremen will need to beat Tottenham to keep alive their prospects of finishing third and stepping into the UEFA Europa League.
    • 19.10 Harry Redknapp's side moved above Internazionale on goal difference at the Group A summit after beating the defending champions 3-1 on 2 November. That was their third successive home victory in the competition and they will guarantee their progress to the last 16 if they can manage a fourth against Bremen.
    • 19.00 Big news from White Hart Lane then is that Gareth Bale starts but there is no place for Rafael Can der Vaart, who picked up a knock just above his ankle in the win over Arsenal on Saturday. Pavlyuchenko and Crouch start in attack, with Defoe on the bench.
    • 19.00 TOTTENHAM: Gomes, Hutton, Gallas, Kaboul, Assou-Ekotto, Lennon, Jenas, Modric, Bale, Pavlyuchenko, Crouch. Subs: Cudicini, Keane, Palacios, Defoe, Bassong, Kranjcar, Corluka. WERDER BREMEN: Wiese, Fritz, Mertesacker, Prodl, Schmidt, Kroos, Jensen, Bargfrede, Marin, Hunt, Wagner. Subs: Mielitz, Pasanen, Huseinovic, Andersen, Thy, Testroet, Ayik
    • 19.00 Tottenham Hotspur will look to keep up their dream start to life in the UEFA Champions League when they host Werder Bremen at White Hart Lane tonight.
    • - Welcome to our LIVE text commentary - the match starts at 19:45 UK time. We'll have all the latest news and build-up from an hour before kick-off.
