    • 35' Schalke's Jones is fouled and is then booked for calling for a yellow card for the perpetrator!
    • 34' The German side must be wondering how they are behind here. They've just about shaded it so far.
    • 33' They also boast an unbeaten record against Turkish opposition with two wins and two draws from four matches.
    • 32' Plenty of reasons for Schalke to be positive here. Their last two away games in Turkey have both ended in a 3-3 scoreline, against Trabzonspor in October 1996 (UEFA Cup) and Fenerbahce in October 2005 (Champions League). They'd take that right now!

    • 20' Farfan gets in down the right but sees his low cross blocked out for a corner. From the resulting kick it's absolute choas in there and Bastos gets the ball stuck between his feet. Gala manage to hack it clear.
    • 19' The home crowd are buzzing now. They like what they have seen so far. It's been a very entertaining start.

    • 9' Neat approach play by Schalke. The ball is worked to the left and deflected into the area where Huntelaar tries to ruffle the feathers of Fernando Muslera. However, the keeper claims well under pressure.
    • 8' Whistles for Schalke whenever they are on the ball. This is a fervent atmosphere.
    • 7' As for Schalke, they have reached the knockout stages of the Champions League for the third time after 2007/08 and 2010/11.
    • 6' Relatively new territory for Galatasaray tonight as they hadn’t reached the knockout stages of the Champions League since 2000/01 when they were beaten by Real Madrid in the quarter-finals.
