    • 90+4' FULL TIME. Arsenal turned things around in the first half but they were completely outplayed by Montpellier in the second half and can count themselves lucky to come away with three points.
    • 90+2' A tense minute or so awaits now, can Arsenal hold out?
    • 90+1' Cabella goes around Coquelin and then throws himself to ground under contact from Diaby in the box. He was looking for it though and the ref is right to play on.
    • 90+1' We will have three minutes of added time.
    • 90' Here is Coquelin, and Theo Walcott, as they replace Cazorla and Podolski.
    • 89' Yanga-Mbiwa floats the ball into the box but Mannone copes well with the high ball and clutches it to his chest.
    • 88' Arsenal are getting Francis Coquelin ready in an attempt to tighten things up.
    • 86' Herrera gets in front of Mertesacker to meet a cross from the right with a poke at goal but he is caught offside.
    • 85' Belhanda goes into the book for a poor challenge on Arteta.
    • 84' Montpellier will kick themselves if they get nothing out of this game. They have had chance after chance in the second half.
    • 83' Stat from Opta: "Arsenal have never lost an away game in France, winning five and drawing four."
    • 81' Another huge miss! Montpellier can't believe it! The ball rolls to Belhanda in the box and after turning to lose Mertesacker, who goes to ground, he has the goal at his mercy. Weighing up his options, the playmaker gets his shot all wrong and thumps the ball into the chest of Mannone!
    • 79' The change has seen Ramsey go wide on the right, Gervinho switch to the left and Podolski play through the centre.
    • 78' Here comes a double change for Montpellier as Emanuel Herrera replaces Estrada and Benjamin Stambouli comes on for Souleymane Camara.
    • 77' Giroud didn't have much to play with tonight. Just one proper chance. If he'd have been playing for Montpellier he'd probably have scored two.
    • 76' Giroud is the man who is replaced. He gets a fine reception from the home crowd as Ramsey takes his place.
    • 74' Just as I say that, Aaron Ramsey is stripping off. Arsenal want more control in midfield.
    • 73' Arsenal are struggling to mount anything approaching a decent attack here and I think it's time Steve Bould freshened things up a bit.
    • 72' Ait Fana is in the thick of things again but from 20 yards he slips as he shoots and the ball dribbles through to Mannone in the Arsenal goal.
    • 71' Chaos in the Arsenal box as Mertesacker fails to deal with a loose ball in the box following a cross, but the big German is fouled by substitute Ait Fana just as he attempts to get rid of it for a second time.
    • 70' Diaby - already on a booking - is guilty of a push on his man by the byline. The midfielder needs to watch it here.
    • 69' Gibbs tries to find Giroud with another low cross from the left but Montpellier bundle the ball clear.
    • 68' A change for Montpellier as Mounier is replaced by Karim Ait Fana.
    • 66' Gervinho - where has he been for the past 20 minutes - tries to race onto a pass in the right channel but can't get control of the ball as Montpellier take possession again.
    • 64' Arsenal have had about 60 per cent possession so far but it hasn't felt like it in this first half.
    • 62' A bit better from Arsenal. They needed to stem the flow of Montpellier attacks and, at the moment, they have done that. Still, there is much for Steve Bould to be concerned about on the touchline.
    • 60' Arsenal have been under intense pressure at the start of this second half. If Montpellier had any composure they would be winning this game at the moment.
    • 58' Cazorla's first delivery is cleared and when he flings the ball back in, Jourdren clasps the ball at the back post.
    • 57' Arsenal need some relief here and Diaby breaks before playing in Cazorla with a neat pass. The Spaniard gets a firm shot away but Jourdren palms behind for a corner.
    • 56' The home side keep up the pressure as Estrada delivers a curling free kick from the right but he gets too much on it and Mannone saves at his near post.
    • 55' Montpellier hit the bar! Cabella has the ball 20 yards from goal and spots Mannone off his line a bit. His chip over the keeper is glorious but strikes the woodwork, and he can't hit the target when the ball bounces back into his path.
    • 54' Jenkinson gets caught out by a diagonal ball over the top but Mounier makes a terrible attempt to shoot - I think - with his first touch as the ball squirts towards Mannone. Arsenal being opened up time and again here.
    • 53' Cabella twists and turns Mertesacker before floating in a nice cross to find Bocaly at the back post. Sadly his effort is wild and he thumps the ball into the stands. Montpellier need a bit more composure here.
    • 51' The ball drops invitingly for Mounier on the edge of the box but he catches his volley incorrectly and scuffs it. To be honest, you'd need the technique of Paul Scholes to score that.
    • 49' That really was a terrible miss. Cabella either had to put that away or square for a team-mate. Awful decision making.
    • 48' A huge miss from Montpellier! Awful from Diaby as he gets himself in trouble in his own box when trying to turn way from a challenge. Cabella has the goal at his mercy yet produces a wild first-time effort that flies past the near post. He had far more time than he thought.
    • 46' KICK OFF! And no changes from either side...
    • - What did you make of the first half? Let me know on Twitter now! Follow Tom Adams on Twitter
    • 45+1' HALF TIME. Goals from Podolski and Gervinho have Arsenal in front following Belhanda's opener from the penalty spot. A fine comeback from the Gunners.
    • 45' Giroud has his first chance of the evening. Gibbs curls in a cross from the left and the striker edges in front of his man to have a swing at a volley at the near post. He can't quite get enough purchase on the ball though and it flies wide.
    • 44' Gervinho embarks on another slalom-like run but sees his effort loop off a defender and into the path of Jourdren.
    • 42' Diaby tries to open up the defence for Gervinho but the pass has just too much on it. Jourdren races out to claim the ball.
    • 41' Yanga-Mbiwa catches the leg of Arteta as the Arsenal midfielder passes the ball and then clatters into him with his left leg as it follows through. A bad challenge and a yellow card.
    • 40' Bocaly plays in Belhanda square and the playmaker tries to execute a clever turn in the box before being dispossesed.
    • 39' Mounier gets a sight of goal from a tight angle but thunders a shot from range into the arms of Mannone. Still, this has been a better passage of play for the home side.
    • 38' Giroud, Podolski and Gervinho surge forward with intent but the German plays a slack pass. Montpellieer break through Yanga-Mbiwa but can't carve out a decent opportunity.
    • 37' Giroud is having a tough time of things up front for Arsenal and gets a kick from the accomplished Yanga-Mbiwa as he tries to cushion the ball and find a team-mate.
    • 35' Estrada gets another chance when the corner is worked to him but his effort is wild and Mannone is untroubled as he watches it wide.
    • 34' Good save Mannone! Estrada cuts in from the right and 20 yards from goal unleashes a low effort that appears to be sneaking inside the near post. However, Mannone gets down superbly well to tip it round the post.
    • 33' Diaby is on the receiving end of a hard challenge but the midfielder gets up and is fine to continue.
    • 32' Stat from Opta: "Montpellier haven’t won any of their last four home games in European competition, (two draws, two defeats)."
    • 30' Montpellier are struggling to gain possession at the moment with Arteta, Diaby and Cazorla again functioning well as a midfield three. Giroud is putting in a good shift, though he hasn't had a chance just yet.
    • 28' Montpellier go short from the corner and Vermaelen has to leap high to head clear when the ball is eventually lifted into the penalty area. Steve Bould presumably looks on admiringly.
    • 27' Mounier embarks on a clever run into the box but is finally denied when Giroud follows him to the byline and blocks his cross. Corner.
    • 26' Diaby is starting to get into the game more now. The midfielder executes a couple of clever passes reminiscent of that display against Liverpool a few weeks back. Meanwhile, Arteta continues his brief as an unlikely enforcer with another messy tackle.
    • 25' Cabella gets a clattering from Podolski, though there's no foul. Arsenal try to play on but eventually put the ball out of play. Very sporting. But he wasn't even hurt.
    • 23' Here comes Belhanda again. After muscling Arteta off the ball, he tries to bend a shot into the far corner but sees Per Mertesacker stick a leg in. The ball spoons into the air and Belhanda clatters into Vermaelen in an attempt to win it, fouling him in the process.
    • 22' Giroud lifts a nice ball over the top for Gervinho but the forward is miles offside.
    • 21' Montpellier win a free kick on the right but the delivery from Belhanda fails to beat a row of red shirts congregated on the edge of the penalty area. Disappointing.
    • 20' It has been quite the response from Arsenal, but Montpellier coach Rene Girard is absolutely furious on the bench. His side threw their lead away too easily.
    • 18' GOAL! Montpellier 1-2 Arsenal! They've turned things around immediately! It's Gervinho with his third goal in two games. The Ivorian embarks on a dangerous run from the right and after the ball rather luckily rebounds into Carl Jenkinson's path, the right-back finds Gervinho, who has since drifted in the centre, with a low cross, allowing the forward to tap home from close range.
    • 16' GOAL! Montpellier 1-1 Arsenal! Podolski with his third goal in three games! Cazorla looks for Giroud on the edge of the box and the striker lays the ball off to the German with a neat first-time pass. Podolski reeks of composure as he takes the ball forward and slots it under Jourdren.
    • 15' Gervinho breaks free down the right and tries to pick out Giroud with a fierce cross. Montpellier clear, and just as Belhanda looks set to lead a dangerous breakaway, Arteta halts him with a perfectly-timed tackle.
    • 14' As the free kick is headed up into the air, Lukas Podolski gets his clearance wrong as the ball pops out to Anthony Mounier. He hits a volley first time from 30 yards but it flies off target.
    • 13' Remy Cabella nicks the ball away from Mikel Arteta and the Spaniard makes sure he knocks his opponent to ground with a rather unsubtle push. Free kick to the home side.
    • 12' Smoke drifts across the pitch from flares let off in the crowd. It's fair to say the Montpellier fans are enjoying this.
    • 11' Bedimo charges down the left wing and tries to throw a deep cross into the box but gets his delivery wrong. The ball flies out of play.
    • 10' An audacious finish from a very confident player. Vermaelen looked angry at the award but his challenge was just in the box and it was a foul, so he can have few complaints really.
    • 9' GOAL! Montpellier 1-0 Arsenal! Belhanda steps up and pulls off a textbook Panenka. Mannone dived to his right and almost had time to get back up and save it.
    • 8' Penalty to Montpellier! Vermaelen comes across to deal with Belhanda right on the edge of the box and fells him with a messy challenge.
    • 7' Stat from Opta: "Arsenal have only kept one clean sheet in their last 20 Champions League away games, that was in France against Marseille last season."
    • 6' Santi Cazorla takes the set-piece and thumps his effort against the wall. It looks as though he was hoping that the wall would break up. Gervinho collects the loose ball but Montpellier clear.
    • 4' Santi Cazorla takes the set-piece and thumps his effort against the wall. It looks as though he was hoping that the wall would break up. Gervinho collects the loose ball but Montpellier clear.
    • 3' Souleymane Camara receives a pass to the centre of the box from Henri Bedimo but as he tries to get a shot away the Senegal striker is given offside.
    • 2' Souleymane Camara receives a pass to the centre of the box from Henri Bedimo but as he tries to get a shot away the Senegal striker is given offside.
    • 1' It takes only 21 seconds for Diaby to be booked! The midfielder got to the ball but his studs were up when sliding in on Marco Estrada. Seems a bit harsh this early on.
    • 1' KICK OFF!
    • 19:45 It would be a huge surprise if Arsenal were beaten tonight. Really they should be looking for a win against a side that have lost three of their five league games so far this season. Arsenal by contrast are unbeaten.
    • 19:40 You can send me your thoughts during the game via the medium of Twitter, should you wish. Why not give me a cheeky follow? Follow Tom Adams on Twitter!
    • 19:35 So who should you be looking out for in the Montpellier side? Well, Yanga-Mbiwa is a France international in defence and playmaker Belhanda is a lovely player, and a big mate of Giroud's. He used to supply the bullets for the striker before he made his move to North London.
    • 19:30 By the way, Wenger is not on the touchline today as he serves a three-match ban following some naught comments in the last-16 defeat to AC Milan last season. That means Steve Bould, promoted to assistant coach this summer, will be the man who takes the team-talks and takes charge of Arsenal throughout the night.
    • 19:25 Time for some Opta stats: "Montpellier are one of three teams to make their debut in the Champions League this season, along with Malaga and Nordsjælland. Arsenal have never lost an away game in France, winning five and drawing four. Arsenal’s last three away games in France have all ended 1-0 to the Gunners."
    • 19:20 You could hardly get a bigger contrast between the relative experience of these two teams: Arsenal are in the group stages for the 15th season in succession, while Montpellier are enjoying their first campaign. The last time they played an English team in European competition was Manchester United in the Cup Winners' Cup in 1991.
    • 19:15 It is noticeable that Theo Walcott is once again on the bench for Arsenal. He scored as a sub in the 6-1 win over Southampton at the weekend but his future is very much in doubt as he refuses to sign a new contract. Wenger's warning for Walcott
    • 19:10 This is the French side's first ever Champions League fixture. Want to know more about their unexpected rise and the insecurities now affecting them? Read our blog from Tom Williams. Doubts intrude on Montpellier’s big day
    • 19:05 Montpellier recall Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa and Remy Cabella after they were left out of the weekend loss to Stade Reims. However, Giroud's replacement, Emanuel Herrera, is dropped after a poor performance in Friday's 3-1 loss to Reims.
    • 19:00 Vito Mannone stands in for the injured Wojciech Szczesny but the Italian has not conceded a goal in two appearances this season. Otherwise Arsenal look pretty settled: all eyes on Giroud as he seeks his first goal since joining Arsenal in the summer. It is interesting to note that Per Mertesacker retains his place above Laurent Koscielny again.
    • 18:55 TEAMS: Montpellier: Jourdren, Bocaly, Yanga-Mbiwa, Hilton, Bedimo, Saihi, Estrada, Mounier, Belhanda, Cabella, Camara. Subs: Pionnier, Congre, Stambouli, Marveaux, Fana, Jeunechamp, Herrera. /// Arsenal: Mannone, Jenkinson, Mertesacker, Vermaelen, Gibbs, Arteta, Diaby, Gervinho, Cazorla, Podolski, Giroud. Subs: Shea, Koscielny, Santos, Coquelin, Ramsey, Walcott, Oxlade-Chamberlain.
    • 18:50 A quick bit of team news for you: Olivier Giroud starts against the side he left to join Arsenal in the summer, while Abou Diaby is also in the visiting starting XI. Full teams with you shortly.
    • 18:45 Hello and welcome to our live coverage of the Champions League game between Arsenal and Montpellier at Stade la Mosson. It's the first matchday in this season's competition and it's good to have the Champions League back.
