    Time:90'
    • Montpellier HSC
    • Schalke 04
    • 90+2' And that's it. As it stands an under-strength Arsenal are losing, so they finish top anyway. Thanks for joining me - stay here for the report.
    • 90+1' That’s two chances in succession for the hosts – he really should have won it with the second chance. This has been a great second-half showing and they'll be hoping to take this form into their domestic campaign.
    • 90' Herrera is found in the box by Utaka. He has found space in between the two defenders but lacks composures and Hildebrand easily saves. Two minutes of added time.
    • 89' Can either side win it? Great open game here.
    • 88' Pitau lifts a lovely ball over the visiting defence to Herrera who takes it down before thrashing it straight at an onrushing Hildebrand. Decent save but that has to go down as a miss.
    • 87' Great feet from Belhanda down the wing but Metzelder manages to get a foot to it. The delivery from the corner is poor and it is easily cleared.
    • 85' Obasi on for Pukki.
    • 83' Hilton is carded following a late challenge on Pukki – that was wild - no chance of getting the ball there.
    • 82' Höwedes has to be alert to come across to steal the ball from Belhanda following a lax pass from Draxler.
    • 80' Pitau is continuing to run things in the middle of the park – Jones is looking to get near him now though as the visitors look to close this one out.
    • 78' Huntelaar wins a free-kick from Hilton at the corner of the box. Soft free-kick that Holtby sends to the back post but Pukki’s header from close range is blocked by Hilton.
    • 76' Marica is off for Huntelaar, as Arsenal have lost the lead in Greece.
    • 74' Huntelaar is warming up as his side continue to labour.
    • 72' Barnetta is replaced by Jones.
    • 71' Draxler over-complicates things on the edge of the box and the hosts clear. He has shown some great feet tonight but that was a waste.
    • 69' Barnetta runs with the ball before finding Kolasinac ahead of him in the channel – the youngster elects to try to shoot from a near impossible angle and unsurprisingly it flies wide.
    • 68' Utaka immediately works a yard of space but his cross drifts out of play – good change of pace there but the ball needed to be better. Herrera was lurking again.
    • 67' DOUBLE SUB: Belhanda and Utaka for Mounier and Camara.
    • 66' The home side are bossing this now and Pitau is at the centre of it.
    • 65' Herrera is on the shoulder of Metzelder, he latches on to a ball in behind before slipping the ball between the legs of the big defender. He looks to curl it from just outside the box but he can’t get the required connection.
    • 64' This game is incredibly open. Pitau an inspired substitution.
    • 63' That’s a great response from the home side having fallen behind.
    • 61' That’s a first goal on his first Champions League start.
    • 59' GOOOOAL!! Mounier lifts a great ball to the back post to Herrera, who has a header cleared off the line by Metzelder. Looked like a handball but Herrera follows up to level things up. 1-1.
    • 57' Holtby delivers another testing set-piece but the hosts clear.
    • 56' GOOOOAL!! Holtby clips a free-kick to the far post, Metzelder rises highest to head back across the goal and Höwedes stoops at the far post to head the ball past Ligali. 1-0. Simple goal but very, very important.
    • 54' Cabella exchanges passes with Camara before attempting to chip Hildebrand from the edge – the keeper reads it though and makes the save look easy.
    • 53' Uchida clears off the line. Herrera with the follow up following a great save from Hildebrand at the feet of Mounier. That was a super stop and great cover from the defender but Montpellier should be in the lead.
    • 51' Pitau is late on Barnetta following a neat turn from the midfielder. The free-kick is worked back to the defence and then over the top but Marica went a fraction too soon.
    • 50' Cabella is picking up some pretty decent positions in between the Schalke midfield and defence but this time the ball is just behind him.
    • 49' Metzelder gets there before Herrera following a hooked ball over the top.
    • 48' Barnetta shapes up to shoot from distance with ample space to run in to and the effort whistles wide. Poor decision.
    • 47' The hosts make a change: Pitau has entered the fray at the expense of Stambouli, who was a little ineffectual in the opening half.
    • 46' We’re back underway.
    • 45+1' That's it from the first half.
    • 45' Only one minute of added time.
    • 44' Cabella will make it to half-time but Belhanda is a more than capable replacement if required. He gingerly hobbles back on.
    • 43' Cabella goes down under the challenge of Kolasinac and we have a hiatus while the physio tends to the stricken forward.
    • 41' Probably about a fair score-line here but Montpellier will be looking to get to half-time now on parity.
    • 39' Montpellier hold their shape pretty well to frustrate their visitors but Metzelder works a one-two to breach the back four, but, in unfamiliar territory, he looks to square the ball rather than shoot and Yanga-Mbiwa clears for a corner. The hosts clear the corner pretty comfortably but the Royal Blues are coming more and more into this game.
    • 37' Great feet again from Draxler to work some space before finding Marica with a cute ball with the outside of his boot. Marica's touch is a little heavy and Ligali bravely claims at the feet of the forward. Great save from the rookie.
    • 35' Holtby works a one-two with Kolasinac down the left but his cross is behind his colleagues and the hosts clear.
    • 34' Kolasinac does very well to get back at Camara with the winger bearing down on goal – but a moment’s hesitation lets the full-back in to clear.
    • 32' Barnetta finds Marica in the channel but his cross flashes across the box. Pukki collects and sends it back to Barnetta on the edge of the box but it is a complete air-shot.
    • 30' Cabella elects to shoot from the edge of the box when off-balance with Camara in a decent spot in the box. Camara is not shy in making his team-mate aware of his disappointment. The keeper easily claims the strike.
    • 28' Yanga-Mbiwa gets a foot to a Barnetta centre meant for Pukki. The hosts are looking good going forward but they have been exposed on the break a couple of times already.
    • 26' Decent little bit of interplay between a gaggle of Montpellier players but Bedimo brings that to an end with a theatrical dive on the edge of the box.
    • 24' That was a sitter. Draxler flashes the ball across the box but Pukki contrives to send it wide from no more than six yards.
    • 23' There has been a little bit of a slowing of the pace of the game – the pitch is partly culpable as it is far from conducive to crisp passing but Bedimo shows a great change of pace to get past his man but his cross isn’t good enough.
    • 22' The Royal Blues are getting a bit of a foothold in the game but the through ball just hasn’t been of the required quality thus far.
    • 21' Holtby reverses a ball in behind to Barnetta but Yanga-Mbiwa comes across to clear off the forward for a goal kick.
    • 19' Hilton with a pretty robust challenge on Marica on the half-way line.
    • 17' Camara again looks to get at Kolasinac in the corner but his cross is easily collected by Hildebrand.
    • 15' Ligali does well to get down at the feet of Draxler following a decent through ball from Neustädter.
    • 13' Montpellier appear to have highlighted 19-year-old Kolasinac as a possible weakness in the Schalke team as they have looked to get in behind on three separate occasions already.
    • 11' Camara rises highest to head a Bedimo cross handsomely wide. Decent move but that was ambitious from the edge of the area.
    • 10' Great overlapping from the hosts' full-backs at the moment.
    • 8' There’s a very relaxed atmosphere out there at the moment. Camara looks for Herrera in behind but his through ball is cut out.
    • 6' Estrada’s corner is cleared and the visitors break. Holtby is adjudged just to be offside but that was pretty close.
    • 5' Montpellier have started with a confidence that belies their lowly league position and have begun in the ascendancy. A high pressing game is working well. Bedimo makes a decent overlap to win a corner.
    • 3' Herrera has a first sight of goal but his effort takes a deflection to go wide for a corner.
    • 1' We are underway in France.
    • 19:40 The referee for tonight’s fixture is Antonio Mateu Lahoz of Spain.
    • 19:35 MATCH ODDS Montpellier 13/5, Schalke 21/20, draw 5/2.
    • 19:30 Huub Stevens: “We are here to win the game and the group. Things would be a bit different if we had to win to qualify, so I think that we will be a little bit more relaxed but still focused. Montpellier play good football. French football is usually quite skilful. Montpellier have less experience than the other teams in this group, but they showed our first meeting that they are a quality team.”
    • 19:25 MANAGERS QUOTES - Rene Girard: "I am frustrated because I know that it is only small things that have let us down. I have big regrets and leaving this competition with a defeat would be disappointing. We could have done better, but this is still a big game. The most important thing at stake is our honour."
    • 19:20 A win in France would make this Schalke’s best ever performance in the Champions League Group Stage - beating 2010-11’s haul of 13 by one point – and it will also see them finish top of their group, but they are having a bit of a stumble in the Bundesliga where they have failed to win in four.
    • 19:15 Having won Ligue 1 for the first time last season, René Girard’s men have struggled to build on last season’s success and sit in 13th place in France having been soundly eliminated from Group B. In mitigation, neither Emanuel Herrera or Gaetan Charbonnier have filled the void left by Olivier Giroud’s departure but it has been a disappointing season for La Paillade.
    • 19:10 The matchday two fixture between these teams gave ten-man Montpellier their first – and only – UEFA Champions League point following a 2-2 draw. Karim Aït-Fana put the competition newcomers ahead before Julian Draxler made it 1-1. Klaas-Jan Huntelaar's penalty gave Schalke the lead, but Souleymane Camara's last-minute equaliser rescued a point.
    • 19:05 Schalke coach Huub Stevens gives game time to fringe players as they chase top spot in the group. Christoph Metzelder, Tranquillo Barnetta, and Teemu Pukki are all in from the start with Klaas-Jan Huntelaar starting on the bench.
    • 19:00 TEAM NEWS: Geoffrey Jourdren, Teddy Mezague, Joris Marveuax, Karim Ait-Fana and Garry Bocaly are all out injured, but Hilton returns after a lay-off as Montpellier look for a consolatory first win in the competition. Third-choice keeper Jonathan Ligali, 21, made his first-team debut on Saturday in a 1-0 loss at Olympique Lyonnais and continues in goal.
    • 18:55 TEAMS: Montpellier: Ligali, Congré, Yanga-Mbiwa, Hilton, Bedimo; Estrada, Stambouli; Mounier, Cabella, Camara; Herrera. Subs: Valette, John Utaka, Charbonnier, Belhanda, Pitau, El Kaoutari, Deplagne /// Schalke: Hildebrand, Uchida, Höwedes, Metzelder, Kolasinac; Neustädter, Holtby; Pukki, Barnetta, Draxler, Marica. Subs: Lars Unnerstall, Escudero, Jones, Obasi, Fuchs, Huntelaar, Matip.
    • 18:50 PERMUTATIONS: Montpellier’s European sortie is over for another year, but Schalke are through. The Germans win the group if they get three points in France or if Arsenal are denied victory in Greece due to their head-to-head superiority over the Gunners.
