    • 58' Straight into the grateful arms of Adan. A better delivery is needed.

    • 56' A reminder of how it stands - Ajax will qualify for the Europa League if Manchester City do not beat Dortmund.

    • 52' Ronaldo peels away down the left and cuts across a low ball that is cleared at the near post. There are more goals here for Madrid if they really want it.

    • 43' Thoughts on the first half? Get involved and tweet us your thoughts.
    • 42' Viktor Fischer cuts inside and shoots straight Adan. Finally an opportunity for the away side.
    • 41' The corner causes more chaos in the Ajax box but deflects off a defender to safety. That could have gone anywhere.
    • 40' Lasse Schone on for Christian Poulsen.
    • 40' Sami Khedira shoots! Great save Vermeer.
    • 39' Wondering what's going on elsewhere in Group D? View the live matchcast of Dortmund v Man City
    • 38' That really was poor from Eriksen. He's got a reputation as the 'new' Laudrup but he's not showing anything to suggest why he's so highly-rated so far tonight.
    • 37' Eriksen lines it up.... what a waste. Straight at the wall and easily cleared.
    • 36' Free-kick to Ajax in a decent position on the right. Can they test Madrid's back-up keeper?
    • 35' A good spell for Ajax but whenever they give the ball away Madrid look likely to pounce.
    • 34' Prior to kick off Ronaldo boasted 22 attempts on target, more than any other player in the CL. He's added a fair few to that already tonight.
    • 33' Ronaldo cracks one towards goal that takes an almighty deflection. Fortunately for Vermeer it dribbles right into his hands.
    • 32' Delightful flick by Ronaldo picks out Benzema who is brought down on the edge of the box. ANOTHER free-kick.
    • 31' Vermeer flaps at the corner and eventually the ball is worked to Nacho who fires way over the bar.
    • 30' It's all Madrid here. A corner to the hosts and they haven't got out of second gear yet.
    • 29' Another free-kick. Ronaldo shoots from 35 yards but the wall does its job.
    • 28' GOAL! 2-0 MADRID. Jose Callejon races onto Modric's through pass and coolly slips the ball in off the far post. A mountain to climb for the visitors now.
    • 27' Only one team in it now. Ajax still have a chance even if they lose. But they need to improve if they are to keep their destiny in their own hands.
    • 26' The Real star fizzes in the shot that Vermeer pushes away in a somewhat bizarre fashion.
    • 25' And he could have another one here. Free-kick to Madrid 25 yards out.
    • 24' Another stat for you: Cristiano Ronaldo has now scored 16 goals in his last 15 Champions League appearances.
    • 23' Meanwhile, Ajax coach, de Boer is getting just what he had anticipated - a tough match regardless of who turns out for the Spanish champions. He said: "It won't be a weak Real Madrid team even though some important players are not going to play. Xabi Alonso is a fantastic player and Iker Casillas is probably the best goalkeeper in the world, but the team have enough without them. Victory against PSV gave us strength. We proved we could beat a great opponent playing the way we want."
    • 22' Pepe on for the injured Coentrao.
    • 21' Ahead of the match Real coach Jose Mourinho claimed his side have enjoyed success in Group D despite finishing as runners-up. He said: "I think our qualification is a success in this group because a candidate to win the title will be out. Manchester City are a powerful team with great attacking skill and Borussia Dortmund are among the best in Europe. We must play with the desire to win in our mind. Obviously, we will try to win."
    • 20' Superb run down the left by Blind ends with a sizzling cross that is brilliantly touched clear on the stretch by Varane.
    • 19' The visitors make a hash of defending the near post delivery but are fortunate that the ball drops away from the Madrid attackers.
    • 18' A succession of Madrid corners. Ajax need to be strong here.
    • 17' Benzema races down the right, cuts inside a weak challenge and drills in a shot that Kenneth Vermeer pushes to safety.
    • 16' That goal was a real blow to Ajax. They had started quite brightly but look like they will be carved open at will by the hosts.
    • 15' Free-kick to Madrid on the far left. Ronaldo to take - well blocked by the wall.
    • 14' That was Ronaldo's 21st goal of the season - in his 22nd game. Impressive.
    • 13' GOAL! 1-0 REAL MADRID. Benzema gets in behind the Ajax defence and picks out Ronaldo who smashes the ball into an empty net.
    • 11' Coentrao marauds into the box, receives a pass from Luka Modric and stabs a shot against the post. First real opportunity goes to the hosts.
    • 10' Christian Eriksen is played in down the left. The Dane has acres to run into but treads on the ball and the break is lost. Poor touch by the Ajax man.
    • 10' Likewise, if Ajax lose this match, it will be their worst ever performance in a Champions League Group. So something is likely to give when the full-time whistle blows.
    • 9' I'm reliably informed that if Real Madrid don’t win this match, it will their worst ever performance in a Champions League Group Stage. Not bad considering they are still going to qualify.
    • 8' Karim Benzema gets a sight of goal but sees his long ranger well blocked. And seconds later the Frenchman has the ball in the net from close range but the flag is up and the goal is disallowed.
    • 7' Daley Blind breaks down the left but sends a high cross over the bar. A wasted opportunity.
    • 6' Ajax's last success in Spain was a 3-2 victory at Atletico Madrid in the 1996/97 UEFA Champions League quarter-finals. Current coach Frank De Boer played and his brother Ronald scored.
    • 5' A nice STAT: Real's draw in Manchester on matchday 5 was Mourinho's 100th UEFA Champions League game as a coach. It is a tally surpassed only by Sir Alex Ferguson, Arsene Wenger and Carlo Ancelotti.
    • 4' Ajax have started quite brightly with some tidy possession early doors. No action of note yet.
    • 3' Madrid's home record against teams from the Netherlands is W9 D1 L2. The visitors' away record against Spanish sides is W5 D2 L7.
    • 2' These two great names of the European game have met five times in the past three seasons and Madrid have won each game, registering an aggregate 16-1 goal difference. The most recent was a 4-1 victory in Amsterdam in October.
    • 1' KICK OFF! Ajax get us underway.
    • 19.43 A big occasion for Ajax tonight. Can they keep their European adventure alive? Things could get interesting, so stick with us and make sure you don't miss a kick.
    • 19.42 Ajax also faced a fierce rival at the weekend. The Amsterdam outfit thumped PSV Eindhoven 3-1 to give them a huge lift ahead of the encounter in the Bernabeu. Eredivisie standings
    • 19.40 Ronaldo ended a run of three games without a goal – the longest he has gone without registering this season – by striking direct from a free-kick as Los Merengues closed the gap on second-placed Atletico to five points. It was Ronaldo's eighth goal in as many Madrid derbies. La Liga's top scorers
    • 19.35 Madrid warmed up for tonight's encounter with a 2-0 derby success over second-placed Atletico Madrid. Ronaldo and Mesut Ozil were on target. La Liga standings
    • 19.30 Elsewhere in Group D, Manchester City need to win in Dortmund to keep their bid for a Europa League spot alive. View the live matchcast of Dortmund v Man City
    • 19.15 Real Madrid have already qualified for the knockout stage as Group D runners-up. Ajax are currently third and in a battle with Man City to clinch the Europa League spot. Ajax lead City by a point. Group D standings
    • 19.10 As expected, Jose Mourinho has rested some of his key personnel tonight, with six changes to the team that drew at Manchester City on matchday five. Iker Casillas is replaced by Antonio Adan with Raphaal Varane, Ricardo Carvalho, Nacho, Jose Callejon and Kaka also in. The Brazilian attacker has been handed the captain's armband. For Ajax Toby Alderweireld is fit to start while Daniel Hoesen will be looking to add to his tally of three goals in his last four matches.

  4. Amir are you gay? Why do you think everybody is gay, for being Handsom? Soccer has nothing and even in Basketball in the USA have gays. Cristiano Ronaldo had a BABY before mmmmessigay. What does that tell you? Do you know how messi ended in Barcelona at 11 yrs old? Read and let us know. Cristiano Ronaldo has only been playing at Real Madrid for 3yrs. And in 3 different leagues, different players and on and on and he is not a NR 10 a stricker(9)(10). well, on and on. Just read a little and READ well, if you can. Maybe you did not go to school. Ask some friends to read to you. #$%$/Gay is not vocabulary.... in fact is lack of.

  5. whenever Mr. Cristiano Ronaldo scores they win. Why? Why Di Maria is not playing like last year supply the balls. Higuain: zero, Benzima has days- one good two bad. Ozil, was better last year to impress, this year is as Higuain. Why this team is useless, is not the Manager, is the different nationalities--- Cristiano Ronaldo-Messi-- Argentina players helping the Argentinians. Last year they had to prove they were good to get money. Di Maria Useless.Higuain-Useless. Ozil- almost useless. Arbeola- always in front of attacker, never behind. The youngster Alan always trying and getting better- what a future! Kaka- Once in a blue moon, I know he is old, but very good salary. Callejon, best and Cristiano Ronaldo. Good luck to you Real Madrid and Mr. Mourinho. Win th champions . Madrid are the team forever.

  6. i like how the match commentator highlights Hoesen goal against PSV, but has clearly not seen it. Hoesen declared the goal as Fischers. It was Hoesen who poked the ball in, but not even a meter from goal. Fischer slipped past 4 players before passing it to him. If you don't know the full measure of the facts, then don't mention them. MATCH COMMENTATOR, read and learn from us down here who know a thing or two.

  8. "That really was poor from Eriksen. He's got a reputation as the 'new' Laudrup but he's not showing anything to suggest why he's so highly-rated so far tonight." A young player at 20 years who is a huge talent, not a star yet, can't shoot a freekick into the wall without having to hear "If your the new Laudrup, then why do you do that". How dumb are you match tracker? i know you read the comments so please answer? And is it Eriksens fault that Ajax are playing really poor tonight? Does a TEAM have I in it? Does a team depend on one player? No i don't think so. Try understanding the game ignorant.

  17. I think JM is now beginning to get his starting line right especially in the midfield. This should have been it all along: Modric, Callejon and Ozil. I expect a very good game from Madrid today. JM please do not change this midfield anymore. Back in the league, you can bring back ramos and arbeloa. You will notice that Ronaldo will see alot of play today and the strike force should be lethal because of the ample midfield talents. I am sorry to say but Di Maria's form has deepened of late. He needs some rest and experiments with say copa del rey. Please JM stick to this midfield and all the controversies will disappear. I wish u luck.
