    Time:90'
    • Valencia CF
    • Bayern Munich
    • 90+4' The game ends in a draw and there is plenty of mutual respect as both teams go through, Valencia doing well to hold their hosts after playing for an hour with ten men. Dante is helping out Soldado on the floor after the final whistle, the Spaniard is suffering from cramp. The Group F winner will be decided on the final match day.
    • 90+3' Valencia show some late hunger and mount a couple of attacks, but Cissokho dives to try and win a free kick and Webb waves play on.
    • 90+1' Referee Webb has signalled via his assistant that there are to be four minutes of added time.
    • 89' Bayern look more like they want the win in the closing minutes, Valencia are tired with only ten men on the field.
    • 88' Then Guaita at the other end is shown a yellow card, Webb wants the teams to get on with it.
    • 87' Neuer is floored as Bayern defend the free kick for the earlier foul on Guardado and the Germans run down the clock.
    • 86' Nelson Valdez comes on Guardado goes off.
    • 85' Then there is another foul, by Lahm on Guardado, and Valencia have a chance to launch it into the box.
    • 84' Soldado with one of his typically moody fouls going in late on Neuer gets a yellow card.
    • 82' Schweinsteiger almost makes it two in two minutes but Guaita saves Valencia again.
    • 81' GOAL!!! Bayern hit striaght back through Muller who latches onto a miscontrolled touch from Gomez and finishes off nicely. Philipp Lahm set that up from the right.
    • 80' Valencia look to tighten things up and secure top spot in the group with ten minutes to go as they bring on David Albelda for Ever Banega.
    • 79' Mario Gomez comes on to replace Ribery.
    • 78' Yes the ball came off Dante's right hand and bounced in front of Neuer who was already diving to his right, with the deflection taking it over him into the middle of the goal. Fortunate for Valencia.
    • 77' GOAL!!! Feghouli makes a good run and gets a shot away but it is a big deflection of Dante which takes the ball past Neuer.
    • 75' It took Valencia an age to make that substitution, Tino Costa seemed to be injured too and Parejo was asking to come back on!
    • 74' Jonas comes on for the injured Parejo.
    • 73' Parejo seemed to seize up un challenged and is being assisted off.
    • 72' Valencia will need to make a change here, Parejo is injured.
    • 71' Bayern have never won at the Mestalla, drawing two and losing one of their three visits. Will that change in the next 20 minutes?
    • 70' Then Bayern's other substitute Mandzukic has a great chance from close range, directing a header onto the post on the right.
    • 69' Bayern sub Shaqiri has an effort on goal but Ricardo Costa blocks the shot.
    • 68' Martinez is keen to get on the scoresheet on his return to Spain this evening, but his left-footed shot from distance misses the target.
    • 67' A Schweinsteiger corner is headed over by Dante. If Dante could hit the target Bayern could have scored three or four from set pieces tonight.
    • 65' Double swap for Bayern. Xherdan Shaqiri for Kroos and Mario Mandzukic for Pizarro.
    • 64' Schweinsteiger's inventive play on the left feeds Ribery and he finds Muller who should do better as he hits it straight at Guaita.
    • 63' Bastian Schweinsteiger has been quiet so far but is coming into the game. He takes a corner on the left and then get it back and plays it into the box again.
    • 62' A golden chance for Soldado who is clean through and smashes the ball over the bar as Neuer advances towards him. He should have scored.
    • 61' Neuer was stranded there and Cissokho just couldn't get over the ball to head down into the open net.
    • 60' Neuer comes out to try and catch the corner taken by Tino Costa but Cissokho heads over.
    • 59' An Ever Banega shot is deflected wide and Valencia have a corner on their right.
    • 58' Ribery jinks into the Valencia box on the left and hits a low left footed cross-shot which Guaita reads well and parries to safety.
    • 56' Good defensive work from the tidy Cissokho who clears up at full back on the left for Valencia.
    • 55' A couple of crosses from both sides go into the Valencia box, but Pizarro is unable to find the space to take advantage.
    • 54' Tino Costa made that chance for Soldado with a good right footed inswinging cross, but in truth the striker would have done well to beat Neuer from that angle.
    • 53' A half decent chance for the gifted Soldado in the Bayern box, but the Spaniard heads straight at Neuer.
    • 52' It's that Kroos - Dante combination again from the corner and the Brazilian defender heads over again.
    • 51' Patient build up play from the away side and Bayern have another corner, this time on the right.
    • 49' So the Germans will aim to do better with a one man advantage in the remaining 40 or so minutes in Spain.
    • 48' Bayern's seven-match winning run away from home in the Bundesliga ended on Saturday as their former midfielder Markus Feulner earned a 1-1 draw for a 1. FC Nürnberg side that played the last 14 minutes with ten men.
    • 47' Yet another Bayern corner, taken by Kroos on the left, is cleared by Valencia.
    • 46' Bayern kick-off in search of a breakthrough at the Mestalla. No changes for either side at half time.
    • - At half time the visitors will be happier. They perhaps shaded that first half in terms of performance after a slow start by Valencia and the Germans will also look to make the most of their numerical advantage in the second period.
    • 45+1' Spaniard Javi Martinez is cautioned by the referee, the Bayern player going in late and heavy on Feghouli.
    • 44' Valencia are playing better with ten men than they were before Barragan's sending off. A fairly evenly matched first half overall.
    • 43' Soldado's clever backheel feeds Feghouli in the box and he should test Neuer again but the shot goes over the bar.
    • 42' Dante and Cissokho clash and the home fans want the Brazilian sent off as his opponent crashes to the ground. Dante is already on a yellow of course, but he got to the ball before Cissokho and Webb saw that correctly.
    • 41' Valencia have won just two of their last 17 European games against German opposition (excluding qualifiers), W2 D8 L7.
    • 40' Soldado has a shot from way out after the Valencia corner is cleared and the Spanish striker hits it well over.
    • 39' At the other end there is confusion in the Bayern defence and Neuer concedes a corner as he tips the ball over the bar, after Dante heads in the wrong direction.
    • 37' Pizarro has an effort on goal - finally - but Guaita blocks the shot.
    • 36' Bayern have scored ten goals so far in the competition, the joint highest total in the group stage before kick-off alongside Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid and Valencia. Now they want an eleventh strike.
    • 35' Bayern immediately turn up the pressure streaming forward to try and take the lead against their ten-men hosts.
    • 34' What a needless red card that is. Barragan was already on a yellow card and the Spanish defender leaves his teammates in a difficult position now against such potent opponents.
    • 33' Valencia right-back Barragan is dismissed following a stupid lunging challenge on Alaba.
    • 32' A fantastic save from Bayern goalkeeper Manuel Neuer who keeps out Sofiane Feghouli, the Algerian blasting a shot on goal in the area as he picks up a rebounded Soldado effort.
    • 31' Another foul on the lively Ribery, this time it's Barragan who floors the talented Frenchman in midfield.
    • 30' Valencia have won nine and lost just one of their last 12 home matches in European competitions, that defeat coming against fellow Spanish side Atletico Madrid.
    • 29' Cissokho fouls Kroos, climbing all over him in the air and a Valencia attack ends prematurely.
    • 28' Bayern are attacking well but that man Pizarro has been quiet so far.
    • 27' Pizarro's first goal on matchday four was Bayern's 500th in the European Cup. They have conceded 394 in UEFA competition.
    • 26' A cynical Dante foul on the counter attacking Soldado is rewarded with a yellow card for the big Brazilian centre half.
    • 25' A dangerous looking cross from Ribery with his left foot on the right wing is cleared by the Valencia defence.
    • 24' Frenchman Aly Cissokho and the Mexican Andres Guardado combine nicely on the left for Valencia but there is no end product after the former overhits a cross.
    • 23' A gentle period of play for the first time in the match as Valencia spray it round in defence and midfield. No danger for the men from Munich.
    • 22' Yet another corner for Bayern, but Kroos can't find Dante or anyone else this time and Valencia clear.
    • 20' Barragan is booked by Webb for going in late on Ribery.
    • 19' Bayern can seal qualification and knock BATE out with a point this evening. But this game is all about who takes top spot in the group, as both teams have nine points.
    • 17' A great save by Guaita diving low to his left to keep out a powerful Dante header from another Kroos corner, this time from the right.
    • 15' Valencia went into the last 16 before kicking a ball this evening as Group F rivals BATE Borisov lost 2-0 at home to Lille, as we mentioned earlier. The Spaniards have progressed because they are three points above BATE and have a better head-to-head record over the Belarussians, who have only one match left at Bayern.
    • 14' Then Alaba has a Bayern free kick on the right and puts it straight over.
    • 13' Then the Spaniard suddenly springs to life and wins a free kick. Tino Costa takes that free kick from the right and there is a foul on the Bayern defence before Ricardo Costa has the ball in the net. No goal.
    • 12' Roberto Soldado has scored 15 goals in his last 14 Champions League starts. But he has hardly had a touch yet.
    • 10' The Germans are dominating and not allowing the home side a second on the ball.
    • 9' It's all Bayern in the opening minutes. Thomas Muller has a good chance on the right but fires across Vicente Guaita's goal to the left. Goal kick for the hosts.
    • 8' Then Bayern get another corner on the right and it's a great chance for Brazilian centre half Dante who heads wide from Toni Kroos' cross. That should have been on target.
    • 7' David Alaba takes the corner for Bayern, but Valencia clear the danger quickly.
    • 6' A great run by Ribery down the left causes concern in the Valencia box, but he just can't find Pizarro. Anyway, it's a corner to Bayern.
    • 5' Valencia are eight games unbeaten at Mestalla in the UEFA Champions League, since a 1-0 defeat by Manchester United FC on 29 September 2010. They have won six, including the last four home matches.
    • 3' Both teams are getting forward easily enough, using their left wings to good effect, but no real penetration thus far.
    • 2' A great atmosphere as you'd expect for this big Group F clash, both sets of fans making lots of noise at the Mestalla.
    • 1' An usually loose touch for Ribery down the left in the first minute, the Frenchman playing the ball stright out of touch.
    • 0' Away we go then and Valencia kick-off in their usual white and black strip, with Bayern in all red.
    • 19.40 Tonight's match odds: Valencia (5/2) Bayern Munich (21/20), Draw (13/5). And by the way the referee is Howard Webb.
    • 19.35 Bayern opened the 2012/13 competition with a 2-1 home win against Valencia, Bastian Schweinsteiger and Toni Kroos on target before Nelson Valdez pulled one back in added time. The 19 September contest was the first between the teams since the 2001 UEFA Champions League final in Milan.
    • 19.30 Bayern have lost only one of eight European meetings with Valencia, including a victory on penalties over the Spanish side in the 2001 Champions League final.
    • 19.25 Heynckes is of course so familiar with Valencia from his time as boss of Tenerife, Real Madrid and Bilbao, having coached 274 games in Spain.
    • 19.20 Jupp Heynckes: "A win would put us through to the next round but it will not be easy. Valencia have great offensive players. Roberto Soldado is a brilliant player whom I know very well but they also have players like Jonas and Nelson Valdez. We are very strong defensively but we have to be very careful. We are very happy with Javi (Martinez). We have to forget how much he cost and continue the integration process so he can play at the highest European level."
    • 19.15 Mauricio Pellegrino (Valencia): "We have nothing to fear. It will be a top-class match which will take a lot of effort, so we hope to do well enough to get the victory. We are getting better every day, although I am aware that there are things we still need to improve on. We are on the right track and we must continue working to achieve our goals. We are a competitive team, and when we have to make changes we will, and hopefully this game will be no exception to that."
    • 19.10 Bayern Munich manager Jupp Heynckes rested several players for last weekend's Bundesliga match against Nuremberg – and so he restores, Philipp Lahm, Franck Ribery, Thomas Muller and Claudio Pizarro to his starting line-up. Arjen Robben is still out injured.
    • 19.05 Valencia boss Mauricio Pellegrino has made three changes to the side that beat BATE Borisov on Matchday Four. Fernando Gago is still out injured, whilst João Pereira is dropped, Jonas is on the bench and Antonio Barragan, Ever Banega and Daniel Parejo come in.
    • 19.00 Teams: VALENCIA: Guaita, Cissokho, Rami, Barragan, Ricardo Costa, Feghouli, Ever Banega, Guardado, Parejo, Tino Costa, Soldado… subs: Diego Alves, Victor Ruiz, Albelda, Viera, Bernat, Jonas, Valdez. /// BAYERN MUNICH: Neuer, Dante, Lahm, Badstuber, Ribery, Javi Martinez, T. Muller, Alaba, Schweinsteiger, Kroos, Pizarro… subs: Starke, Van Buyten, Rafinha, Shaqiri, Tymoshchuk, Mandzukic, Gomez.
    • 18.55 That 2-0 win for Lille was almost the worst possible result for both sides - Lille needed to score three to have a chance of coming third and now finish bottom; BATE now sweat on Valencia beating Bayern, and then must beat the Germans themselves, in Munich.
    • 18.50 The other game in this group tonight was BATE Borisov vs Lille at the Dynamo Stadium in Minsk, which kicked off at 5pm UK time and resulted in a surprise 2-0 win for the French side. BATE Borisov vs Lille – as it happened
