    • Reading
    • 90+5' FULL TIME! And with three blows of his whistle, Phil Dowd signals that Swansea will be playing in the Premier League next season thanks to Scott Sinclair's Wembley hat-trick! What a game.
    • 90+4' Leigertwood has a free header but gets under the ball and sends it high into the Wembley sky. That should just about be that.
    • 90+2' Reading fans are beginning to depart the scene but Swansea's supporters are ready for a party.
    • 90+1' We will have four minutes of added time at Wembley.
    • 90' Luke Moore replaces Joe Allen as Swansea run the clock down.
    • 90' Silly behaviour from Williams as he reacts childishly to a decision from Dowd. He escapes a booking though.
    • 89' I don't think John Madejski will be dancing at the moment. Meanwhile John Toshack, spotted in the crowd, must be very proud of Swansea. He was the last man to take them up in 1981.
    • 88' Kebe loves a run, I think he thinks he's Ricky Villa. But this time a classic Wembley goal is averted as Swansea defenders swarm round him. Crisis averted.
    • 87' From OptaJoe on Twitter: "Scott Sinclair is only the second player to score a hat-trick in a Championship play-off final after Clive Mendonca in 1997-98."
    • 85' It looks for all the world as though Reading's comeback has been halted in its tracks. It's a shame beacuse they have been undone by some terrible defending. What on earth was Griffin doing?
    • 84' Reading go for it as Hal Robson-Kanu replaces Andy Griffin. They have to in honesty.
    • 82' Gower goes into the book but this is all about containment for Swansea now.
    • 80' GOAL! Scott Sinclair with the hat-trick as Swansea take a big step towards the Premier League. It was a very good spot-kick, right in the corner.
    • 79' Penalty for Swansea! Andy Griffin gives away a penalty with a silly challenge on Borini!
    • 78' Dyer turns away from his marker but gets in a mix-up with his own team-mate, Pratley, gifting possession back to Reading. Swansea have been a shadow of their first-half selves.
    • 77' Gower comes on for Swansea and he replaces Britton.
    • 76 Noel Hunt replaced by Simon Church, a Welsh striker for Reading.
    • 75' Leigertwood is guilty of a horrible tackle on Britton and that was certainly deserving of a yellow card. He gets away with it though.
    • 75' Dorus De Vries leaps high to grab the ball though as Reading fail to capitalise.
    • 74' McAnuff cuts inside on the left of the box and wins yet another corner when his shot deflects high and wide.
    • 73' Another twisting, searing run from Kebe has the Swansea backline's attention but the ultimate reward is only a throw, and the threat passes.
    • 72' Swansea are radying Mark Gower on the touchline.
    • 71' Pratley swings in a cross from the right but Khizanishvili clears. He has not repeated his terrible performance of the first half.
    • 70' No luck from a rare set-piece for the Swans.
    • 69' Darren Pratley picks up possession 25 yards from goal and clumsily stumbles into and across the box, somehow retaining control. He wins a corner.
    • 68' The pace has dropped just a touch and for that Swansea will be grateful. Can they cling on?
    • 66' Borini takes the free-kick square to Allen but his effort from range is blocked. That as a bit of a waste by Swansea.
    • 65' The pressure is lifted somewhat as Matt Mills fouls Scott Sinclair, giving Swansea the chance to slow the frantic pace of the game.
    • 63' This one comes to nothing though as De Vries clasps with ease. He will be grateful for that as both Reading's goals have come from corners today.
    • 62' Still the corners come and this is number 13 for Reading. The pressure on Swansea is unyielding.
    • 61' There is barely time to catch breath and Reading have another corner. They have been absolutely superb in this second half.
    • 60' Reading hit the post! Karacan's effort cannons off the upright and then Garry Monk produces a stunning block to prevent Reading tapping in from the rebound. Drama galore here.
    • 59' Wow. This is sensational stuff and the Swansea fans are staring nervously into their scarves. Borini wriggles into the box but the chance passes.
    • 57' GOAL! Surely not? Matt Mills produces a fine header from a McAnuff corner and Reading have pulled it back to 3-2. What a game!
    • 57' That man Kebe is in possession in the box once more and wins a corner.
    • 56' His punishment is to be substituted, with Darren Pratley coming on in his place. Pratley is more defensive than Dobbie so that's a sensible move.
    • 55' Dobbie races onto a ball over the top, cuts inside two challenges and makes a horrible mess of a shot that turns into a poor cross. Sinclair was available but Dobbie should have scored.
    • 54' Tempers reach boiling point. Williams is in the thick of things after Allen goes into the book for a poor challenge.
    • 52' Replays show that Noel Hunt didn't get the decisive touch on the corner and it will go down as an own goal for Joe Allen.
    • 51' Nerves appear to be setting in as Swansea fail to produce a decent clearance in several attempts. The Reading fans are in full voice now, they can anticipate something special.
    • 50' Now let's see how Swansea cope. Reading haven't been all that bad so far, some horrendous defending aside of course.
    • 49' GOAL! Noel Hunt for Reading! A superb goal from the striker as he meets a corner at the near post with a brilliant glancing header. Is the comeback on?
    • 48' Kebe causes panic once more with a driving run but Williams, a rock at the back for Swansea is across to block and concede a corner.
    • 47' Karacan has a shot blocked from range as Reading attempt the virtually impossible and seek to get something out of this game.
    • 46' KICK OFF!
    • 45+4' We are hearing that Reading assistant manager Nigel Gibbs and substitute Jay Tabb have both been sent off for foul and abusive language at half-time. What a disaster.
    • 45+4' Swansea are 45 minutes away from the Premier League. Scott Sinclair wih two and Stephen Dobbie with one in a game that they haven't exactly dominated with ease.
    • 45+2' Leigertwood unleashes a shot from 25 yards that forces De Vries into a reaction stop as he throws out his right arm to block the ball. A glimmer of hope for Reading, but only that.
    • 45+1' We will have three minutes of added time.
    • 45' Seconds left of the half and Reading waste a great opportunity! Karacan's deep cross unexpectedly falls at the feet of Long and he mis-times his effort when attempting to stroke the ball home, producing an air shot.
    • 43' It is harsh to say, but Swansea's man of the match so far has been Khizanishvili. An absolutely disastrous performance from a player with Premier League experience.
    • 41' It is going to take something very, very special now to prevent Swansea becoming the first Welsh team to secure a place in the Premier League.
    • 40' Stephen Dobbie makes it 3-0! Disaster for Reading. Dyer's cross is turned into Dobbie's path by a poor attempted clearance from that man Khizanishvili. He only succeeded in p99oking the ball straight to the Swansea man and he produced an accomplished finish.
    • 39' Jobi McAnuff is the third Reading player to go into the book, for a poor challlenge.
    • 38' Hunt takes aim from 25 yards and unleashes a fierce effort that cannons off the torso of a Swansea defender and away to safety. He really caught that.
    • 38' A corner for Reading, but Swansea clear after Mikele Leigertwood gets underneath the ball.
    • 36' This game isn't over just yet of course, so while complacency may set in in the stands, Rodgers will be determined to ensure it doesn't on the pitch.
    • 35' Sinclair has been the outstanding player so far of course, but Swansea's midfield as a unit are working the ball very well. Oles ring out around Wembley. This really is just like watching Barcelona.
    • 34' Stat courtesy of OptaJoe on Twitter: "This is the first time that a player has scored more than once in a Championship play-off final since 1997-98 (Mendonca & Quinn)."
    • 33' Sinclair, continuing his excellent performance, dazzles two defenders with a series of stepovers before squaring for Borini, who cannot hit the target with a blocked effort.
    • 32' The strains of a Welsh male voice choir is filling Wembley. Oh, it's just the delirious Swansea fans. Reading supporters are not in the same jovial mood.
    • 30' A poor pass from Andy Griffin just about sums up the shocking first half that Reading's back four have had. Two goals conceded, two yellow cards and there should have been a red as well.
    • 29' Reading win a free-kick and Hunt hares to the near post, hurling himself horizontally before flicking the ball wide of the goal.
    • 28' Swansea's natural inclination is to attack, but will they rein in their instincts in order to keep a lid on this game? Let's hope not, it could make for a fascinating second half.
    • 26' Play-off finals never disappoint, do they?
    • 24' So what have Reading got? Conceding two goals in such quick succession will be a big blow to Brian McDermott's side, after so much build-up to this match.
    • 23' Well, well, well. Just 40 seconds or so between the two goals. Sinclair has put this game firmly in Swansea's control now.
    • 22' GOAL! Scott Sinclair again! Scott Dobie produces a good touch to find space before accelerating past Ian Harte with ease. His cross is deflected by Federici into the path of Sinclair, who calmly slots home. Superb.
    • 21' GOAL! Swansea take the lead as Scott Sinclair confidently rolls the ball home. Khizanishvili was on a booking so was probably lucky to get sent off for a clumsy challenge on Dyer.
    • 20' Penalty to Swansea! Khizanishvili with the foul!
    • 19' Sinclair suddenly darts into the box and is denied a shooting opportunity by a great challenge from Khizanishvili.
    • 18' Noel Hunt works ever so hard to keep the ball in play and his attempted cut-back strikes the arm of Garry Monk. His hand was down by his side though and the pass had real pace on it, so it would have been desperately harsh to give a penalty for that.
    • 17' Karacan collects a pass from Kebe and fires one in from the edge of the box. Williams throws his body in the way of the ball and is lucky to avoid deflecting it past De Vries. Reading are looking ominous.
    • 16' Still no clear cut chances for either side but both are showing attacking ambition, which is making for a fairly open contest.
    • 15' A lovely run from Jimmy Kebe causes panic in the Swansea defence but when the ball is worked wide to McAnuff, he carries it out of play. That showcased why Kebe is such a dangerous player when the mood suits him.
    • 13' So 13 minutes in and two of Reading's back four are booked already. It hasn't even been a dirty game by any means. That's pretty careless on their part.
    • 12' A bout of what can only be described as handbags as Borini and Zurab Khizanishvili both get a booking. Borini interrupted Federici's goal-kick and Khizanishvili took exception, knocking him to the floor.
    • 11' Jobi McAnuff wastes a corner for Reading as he fails to beat the first man.
    • 10' Some hopeful shouts for handball in the Swansea box after Shane Long pulls down a high ball but nothing is doing.
    • 9' Some hopeful shouts for handball in the Swansea box after Shane Long pulls down a high ball but nothing is doing.
    • 8' Swansea swarm forward again but Borini's pass lacks direction and Reading respond, driving up the other end of the pitch before Kebe wins a throw in an advanced position.
    • 7' Referee Phil Dowd has to separate a crowd of players after Andy Griffin goes in hard on Scott Sinclair. The Swansea man was unimpressed but Griffin appeared to get a bit of the ball. He is booked.
    • 6' Borini, by the way, has scored six goals in nine games since joining Swansea in March. He is quite the talent.
    • 5' Chances for both sides then. I don't want to jinx anything but we could be in for a good game.
    • 4' Fabio Borini, on loan from Chelsea, takes tiny steps in his run-up but then lifts the ball well over the wall and over the bar. That was a waste from the young Italian.
    • 3' Reading skipper Matt Mills fells Scott Sinclair 20 yards from goal and the Swans have a free-kick in a dangerous position...
    • 2' Now Jimmy Kebe causes havoc as his cross from the right is spilled by De Vries, Long is lurking and looking to score but Swansea bundle the ball away. It has been a very good start by the Royals.
    • 2' A worrying moment for Swansea as Ashley Williams lazily plays the ball back to goalkeeper Dorus De Vries allowing Shane Long to charge in and attempt to close the ball down.
    • 1' KICK OFF!
    • 15.59 Swansea win the toss, not that it makes any real difference. This isn't cricket after all. Right, just seconds away to kick-off in this huge, huge game.
    • 15.58 Swansea's similarities to Barcelona also extend to the physical attributes of their side. Leon Britton and Nathan Dyer are tiny little guys. They are a lovely side to watch though, look out for Angel 'Dani Alves' Rangel.
    • 15.57 Oh dear me, we have just caught a glimpse of Reading chairman John Madejski dancing in the stands and it was horribly embarrassing. 'Dad at wedding' springs to mind. Now the teams emerge to a fabulous atmosphere at Wembley. What pressure the two sets of players are under.
    • 15.55 There is something special about play-off final day, and given what is happening over in Zurich, let's hope this occasion reminds us just what football is all about. Oh, and you can follow me on Twitter should you wish. Tom Adams on Twitter
    • 15.50 Just to highlight Swansea's inexperience and the context of their rise to prominence, eight years ago the club were close to slipping out of the Football League but survived when beating Hull on the final day of the season. Defender Alan Tate played in that game in 2003. What a story it would be if he managed to snaffle the winner today.
    • 15.45 Just two days ago, this stadium hosted the Champions League final as Barcelona defeated Manchester United 3-1. We might not have Messi on display today, but it is not too ridiculous to call Swansea the Barcelona of the Championship. I make them slender favourites, though Reading have the greater experience in their ranks and over 500 Premier League appearances amongst their starting XI. Ian Harte played in a Champions League semi-final after all.
    • 15.40 Reading are coming off a run of form that has seen them lose just once in their past 12 games. Under McDermott they have finished the season very strongly, but a final is a different proposition altogether, as Huddersfield discovered yesterday when their 27-game unbeaten run came to an end against Peterborough in the League One showpiece.
    • 15.35 Reading have won 33 and Swansea 28 of the previous 73 matches between these two sides. However, the Swans did the double over Reading in the Championship this season and the team that finished third in the table has won in the final in three of the past five years.
    • 15.30 So how did it come to this? Well, Reading surged into the play-offs after being 12th in February and defeated Cardiff in the semi-finals. Meanwhile, Swansea saw off Nottingham Forest to reach the showpiece event.
    • 15.25 The headline team news is clearly Jimmy Kebe's inclusion for Reading. The winger has missed the club's past six games with a thigh injury but has the chance to add to his nine goals and seven assists this season. There are no surprises in the Swansea side.
    • 15.20 Team news - Reading: Federici, Griffin, Mills, Khizanishvili, Harte, Kebe, Karacan, Leigertwood, McAnuff, Long, Hunt. Subs: McCarthy, Tabb, Church, Robson-Kanu, Howard, Cummings, Pearce. /// Swansea: De Vries, Rangel, Monk, Williams, Tate, Dyer, Britton, Dobbie, Allen, Sinclair, Borini. Subs: Ma-Kalambay, Pratley, Beattie, Serran, Moore, Gower, Richards.
    • 15.15 Reading were in the top flight as recently as 2008 but, like Swansea, they have only enjoyed two seasons of top-flight football in their history. Leading them out is Brian McDermott, who worked as chief scout under Rodgers during his opponent's brief spell at the Madejski Stadium.
    • 15.10 The Swans, who have won plenty of admirers thanks to their attractive passing style in recent seasons, will become the first Welsh club to play in the Premier League since its inception in 1992 if they can secure a victory at Wembley today.
    • 15.05 So, in a quirk of fate, 17 months after an unhappy and truncated spell in charge of Reading, Brendan Rodgers is now aiming to curtail the hopes of the club he served for 14 years as a player, coach and manager by leading Swansea into the top flight for the first time since 1983.

That is the financial prize at stake for the winner today, though the sporting glory of securing a place amongst the elite should be reward in itself.
