    Time:90'
    • Birmingham City
    • Cardiff City
    • 90+5' And there goes the final whistle! 1-1 and after a cagey opening half the second was full of action. Although both teams went into this match hoping for the win, a point apiece will not cause too much heartache for either manager.
    • 90+4' One final chance for Birmingham...nope. The ball is now out for a throw-in to Cardiff. That must be it.
    • 90+3' Hands on hips from most of the players on the pitch which tells you they've all played their hearts out today.
    • 90+2' A bit more head tennis as this game is coming to a close.
    • 90+1' Houghton is asking his players to stay calm and not concede a late goal.
    • 90' Five minutes of injury time guys. Definitely enough time for someone to make a name for themselves.
    • 89' Cardiff struggling to get Kenny Miller in the game as a draw seems the most likely outcome now.
    • 88' Long from Cardiff but straight out for a goal-kick to Birmingham.
    • 87' Inswinging corner by Whittingham but away it goes once more from Birmingham.
    • 86' Powerful run by Whittingham who shows good strength to win a corner.
    • 85' The game is disjointed currently. Are we gonna see a grandstand finish?
    • 84' Both teams looknig edgy now. A mistake now could prove costly for either side.
    • 83' That substitution by Mackay - bringing on a striker for a midfielder - surely means Cardiff are going to go for the win in these closing moments?
    • 82' CARDIFF SUB: Kenny Miller replaces Stephen McPhail.
    • 81' Good save by Myhill after substitute Rudy Gestede takes it early after being set up by Gunnarsson.
    • 80' Despite Cardiff taking the game to Birmingham throughout the game, Marshall has been the busier of the two 'keepers.
    • 79' Important save from Marshall as Burke's bullet hits the goalkeeper in the face!
    • 78' It must be said, that's a deserved leveller from Cardiff. Now, who's for a winner?
    • 77' Equaliser from Mark Hudson! Set-piece from Gunnarsson eventually falls to Hudson who hits it first time into the corner giving Myhill no chance! That's the striker - I mean, defender's! - fourth goal of the season.
    • 76' McPhail to Lawrence who tries to whip the ball into Myhill top right-hand corner but the midfielder's effort fails to find the target.
    • 75' Hudson is back on his feet and off we go again.
    • 74' The break gives the two teams a water break as the sun is still shinning.
    • 73' Play resumes but is quickly stopped as Mark Hudson is down injured.

    • 71' BIRMINGHAM SUB: Morgao Gomis replaces the injured Pablo Ibanez

    • 69' That's nine goals from Huseklepp since joining on loan from Portsmouth.
    • 68' 1-0 to Birmingham! Great run by Chris Burke whose cross near the byline finds Huseklepp and the forward side-foots it past Marshall to put the hosts ahead. That goal was gift-wrapped by Burke!
    • 66' Whittingham with the corner...that's easy for the home side. And here Birmingham come on the attack...
    • 64' McNaughton with a dangers cross but that's somehow cleared away for a corner.
    • 63' Although the home side would welsome the win, a draw still moves them into the play-offs. But I'm sure Cardiff have something to say about that.
    • 62' Goal-kick for Myhill. Little in the way of openings since King's penalty miss.
    • 61' Cardiff have players warming up on the touchline and may well be making a change any time soon.
    • 60' Poor final ball from Birmingham which has let them down time and again today.
    • 59' Corner kick for the Bluebirds but that's poor from Lawrence who knows he can deliver better than that.
    • 58' Cardiff with possession now and look to create a chance of their own.
    • 57' King will rue that missed opportunity as it really could have kick-started his team's belief and performance. Cardiff now have their tails up.
    • 56' How Birmingham haven't taken the lead against the run of play, well, only David Marshall knows!
    • 55' Then Marshall saves from Huseklepp when one-on-one!
    • 54' Terrific save from Marshall! Not the best from King from the spot but credit to Marshall who reacted smartly there to keep his team level.
    • 53' Penalty! To Birmingham! Blatant penalty for the hosts as Cardiff go to sleep and Mutch is flatened by Taylor inside the box. There can be no complaints from the visitors.
    • 52' Mutch tries his luck from distance but that ain't testing Marshall.
    • 51' The home support is flat but who can blame them. Their team haven't really got going so far.
    • 50' Davies with a commanding clearance for Birmingham as Cardiff start positively in similar fashion to the first half.
    • 49' Penalty appeal from Cardiff! N'Daw clusmily charges into Gunnarsson inside the Birmingham box. D'Urso waves play-on but I've seen plenty of those given.
    • 48' N'Daw caught in possession by Gunnarsson but the Iceland midfielder finds Mason in an offside position.
    • 47' The Blues have it back but attempts to catch Cardiff off-guard fail miserably.
    • 46' Birmingham clear and it's an early throw-in for the away side in the second half.
    • 45' Cardiff get us off and underway for the second half.
    • 45+1' And there goes the half-time whistle. 0-0 at the break but Cardiff City will wonder, after a hatful of chances, how they don't go in ahead.
    • 45' The fourth official has indicted there will be a minute of injury time.
    • 44' Players are down to a walking pace as the sun continues to grace St. Andrew's.
    • 43' Andrew Taylor covers well with King lurking and plays it calmly back to Marshall.
    • 42' The game has settled down somewhat as half-time approaches.
    • 41' Resilient defending by the away team as Birmingham are finding it tough to test David Marshall in the visiting goal.
    • 40' Cross by Mutch is hoofed clear by Cardiff but here come Birmingham again...
    • 39' Houghton may want to make a change upfront as King and Haseklepp have failed to link up well in this opening half.
    • 38' Curtis Davies with a timely interception and Birmingham look to attack but that's over-hit and out for a goal-kick to Cardiff.
    • 37' Another offside call. This time Jordon Mutch is the guilty party following a King flick-on.
    • 36' Whittingham tries a clever chip to put Mason through on goal but the midfielder's ingenuity was a tad too quick for the forward.
    • 35' Birmingham look long to King who went a fraction too early and is called offside.
    • 34' The home side are in danger of falling behind here, as Cardiff create chancer after chance.
    • 33' Mason flashes wide! The striker should have made more of that and put Myhill to work there but, again, superb play from the visitors.
    • 32' ...great run by Cowie only his cutback is a little too far fro Mason who just needed a toe on that and it could have been the opener. Birmingham caught napping.
    • 31' Silly foul there from Birmingham from the corner kick. And Cardiff break...
    • 30' Huseklepp with a lovely flick-on to King who, after initially losing out, manages to win his side a corner.
    • 29' Cardiff back on top and passing the ball around with confidence in Birmingham's half.
    • 28' Another offside as Mason is a little too eager to get in and behind the Blues' defence.
    • 27' Liam Lawrence links up well with Whittingham only another clever delivery from the winger is missed by everyone.
    • 26' Corner taken short but Boaz Myhill is out quickly to deal with the cross as Gunnarsson was waiting to pounce.
    • 25' A bit of head tennis fronm both sides, as Mason wins the vistors a corner.
    • 24' Quick throw-in by King inside Cardiff's half, efficient defending from Turner though. Danger evaded there.
    • 23' Patient play from Cardiff as they probe and then wait to carve open Birmingham's defence.
    • 22' Marlon King appears frustrated as does his strike partner Erik Huseklepp, who is yet to put his stamp on the game.
    • 21' Free-kick to Birmingham as Don Cowie is caught offside.
    • 20' Another Gunnarsson long throw. But, again, the Birmingham defence deals with that comfortably.
    • 19' A succession of throw-ins for Cardiff. The game is becoming more even now.
    • 18' Birmingham boss Chris Houghton looks rather nervous on the touchline despite his side slowly getting back into this game.
    • 17' Corner is cleared, but falls kindly to Guirane N'Daw whose effort is well saved by David Marshall.
    • 16' Chris Burke with a deflected strike, out for a corner. Better from Birmingham.
    • 15' Gunnarsson with a long throw and more pressure. But Curtis Davies clears the danger.
    • 14' Goalkeeper Myhill with possession now, which will give the Birmingham defence time to reorganise.
    • 13' Great chance! Again for Cardiff. Swift break ends in Ben Turner smashing the ball just wide. All Cardiff at the moment.
    • 12' Just over the bar from Mark Hudson! The defender frees himself from his marker but can only head over a decent delivery from Pete Whittingham.
    • 11' Corner for Cardiff. This could prove costly for Birmingham...
    • 10' Nice turn by Mason but his snap-shot flies well wide of Boaz Myhill's goal.
    • 9' Cardiff - in their black away kit - have settled into this game like duck to water. Birmingham - in all blue - look a little sluggish so far.
    • 8' King outmuscles Ben Turner but the Cardiff defender does well to clear for a Birmingham throw-in.
    • 7' Home crowd already getting restless as Cardiff's dominance continues. Birmingham need to pick up the pace if they want to win this.
    • 6' Penalty appeal there from the lively Mason who goes down - rather easy it has to be said - under a challenge from Steven Caldwell. D'Urso correctly waves play on
    • 5' Cardiff having plenty of possession in these opening moments and are taking the game to the hosts. Mackay's side look really up for this.
    • 4' Joe Mason called offside, as Cardiff went route one which almost proved effective.
    • 3' Marlon Kind holds the ball up well there but teh move breaks down.
    • 2' Early on, it looks as though Birmingham have lined up with an orthodox 4-4-2 formation, with the away team preffering what appears to be a 4-4-1-1 with Joe Mason leading the attack and Aron Gunnarsson floating off the striker.
    • 1' Referee Andy D'Urso gets this match underway in what is a glorious day in the West Midlands.
    • 11:55 But Birmingham will be quietly confident of gaining the win here. St. Andrew's is a fortress this season for Chris Houghton's team, having lost just one and conceding only 10 in 19 home encounters.
    • 11:53 In what would be an historic victory for Malky Mackay's men, it would also give them their first double over the Blues in 45 years.
    • 11:50 Today is the 60th league clash between these clubs. A quick quiz for you; when was the last time Cardiff beat Birmingham at St. Andrew's in the league? Yep, you got it, 1966!
    • 11:45 Both teams go into this match not in the best of forms. For Birmingham City, it's only one win in six, their last being a thumping 4-1 away defeat to bottom of the table Portsmouth. While for the Bluebirds, it's one win in seven - that win being a 2-1 away victory versus Bristol City.
    • 11:40 For the away side, midfielder Stephen McPhail has recovered from a rare immune system condition in time to play today as Cardiff City remain unchanged from the 2-2 draw at home to Coventry City in midweek.
    • 11:35 A host of changes for the home side, as manager Chris Hughton is without the suspended David Murphy, while Stephen Carr (knee) and Jonathan Spector (thigh) are still nursing injuries and miss out. Pablo Ibanez is drafted to the Birmingham defence and there is also a return to the starting XI for Erik Huseklepp, who replaces Nikola Zigic in attack.
    • 11:30 Matchday odds: Birmingham City 20/21, Draw 12/5, Cardiff City 14/5.
    • 11:25 So, the teams are in as both Birmingham and Cardiff have their sights on promotion to the Premier League this season, which means a win will be a massive boost for either side.
