    • FC Barcelona
    • 90+1 And that is it. 4-0 to Barcelona, and they are champions of the world for the second time in as many years! Lionel Messi (2), Xavi and Cesc Fabregas were the goalscorers in the Yokohama Stadium.
    • 90' A minute of added-on time.
    • 89' A TV shot of Neymar. It has not been his night.
    • 88' Pedro chests to Alves with a square one-two, but the defender shins it over the bar.
    • 86' A Messi flick for once does not come off around the penalty area, and Cabral gratefully snatches the ball.
    • 83' Ganso off for Santos, Carlos Puyol off for Barca. On come Ibson, and young Barcelona defender Andreu Fontas.
    • 82' 4-0 to Barcelona and it is Messi's second of the game, and 29th of the season. Alves bravely wins the ball and sets up Messi in the box. The Argentinian seemed to overrun the ball and was initially denied by Cabral, but he recovered to sidefoot home.
    • 81' High line defending from Barcelona, and the ball goes back to the Santos goalkeeper.
    • 80' Barcelona hit the post through Dani Alves! Santos thought he was offside, but he was onside during the second phase and Pedro was alive to that fact.
    • 79' Barca bring on Pedro for Thiago. Santos bring on Alan Kardec for Borgas.
    • 79' Fabregas is denied by the feet of Cabral.
    • 78' Elano passes the ball to Borges on the run. But Borges does not make the run and it rolls back to Valdes.
    • 77' Mascherano, under pressure from two Santos players in his own box, calmly dribbles past them rather than hoofing clear.
    • 76' Dani Alves' free-kick bounces off the wall to safety.
    • 75' Edu Dracena then fouls Messi, and gets a yellow card.
    • 74' Ganso sees a half-chance charged down by Puyol.
    • 73' A yellow for Ganso for a mistimed challenge on Sergio Busquets. That is Santos' first yellow of the game. They haven't really got near enough to even foul.
    • 72' A VERY late flag on Dani Alves as he ran on to Messi's pass through the centre. It was tight, but probably offside.
    • 71' A deserved yellow card for Mascherano for a tackle on Borges, as the studs were showing.
    • 69' Messi penalised for a high boot as he tried to reach a cross. Though he is only a little fella, so it cannot have been that high.
    • 68' Alves careers into the box and cuts the ball back to Xavi, but he is unable to get the ball to Messi. But a fourth is on the way, you can feel it.
    • 67' One-touch triangles by Barca around the Santos box, but this time the move breaks down.
    • 65' Barcelona's possession stat is still 73 percent, so maybe they are not dropping the pace that much!
    • 63' We are seeing a little more of Santos now, as Barcelona seem to be dropping the pace a bit. There was a flash of talent from Neymar as he attempted to beat Puyol.
    • 61' Elano shoots wide, off the studs of Abidal. A corner to Santos, their first of the game. It comes to nothing.
    • 59' Edu Dracena body checks Messi, though there is no yellow card. It was certainly worse than Pique's first-half challenge on Neymar, which did get a yellow.
    • 58' Dani Alves is caught offside again.
    • 57' And Mascherano makes a mistake immediately by losing the run of Neymar, but the youngster shoots straight at Valdes.
    • 56' Javier Mascherano on for Gerard Pique.
    • 55' Iniesta and Xavi combine with one-touch passes, but Iniesta's shot flashes wide. But this is PlayStation football at the moment.
    • '54 A poor first touch by Borges, and a chance for Santos goes awry. Ganso runs at the Barcelona back three, and releases Elano to slip in Borgas, but his control is heavy and Valdes saves.
    • '51 Dani Alves heads across goal at the far post when it seemed easier to score. Messi was again the instigator with a run from midfield.
    • '50 Puyol has a headstart on Neymar to field a ball over the top and pass the ball back for Valdes.
    • 49' Dani Alves is adjudged offside, from another lovely Iniesta pass.
    • 48' A rare chance for Santos, but it comes off Neymar's shoulder rather than his head. Ganso sets up Borges down the right, but the 19-year-old makes a mess of the header from the cross.
    • '47 Fabregas so close, but denied by the goalkeeper. The midfielder wins the ball and sets up Messi down the right channel, but Fabregas is put off by Rodrigo as he shoots.
    • 46' Second-half underway in Japan.
    • 46' And the torture is over for at least 15 minutes for Santos. Barcelona are 3-0 up, and on another level from the Brazilians.
    • 45' One minute of added-on time.
    • 45' And inevitably Barcelona score, this time through Cesc Fabregas! Rodrigo cuts out Alves' cross to Messi, but the Argentinian keeps the ball alive with a backheel. Alves cut the ball back, and though Barbosa saves the first effort, Fabregas is able to sidefoot home the loose ball.
    • 42' The tempo has dropped a little in Japan. Barcelona probably have an eye on the clock and on half-time.
    • 41' Great chest down and control from Messi, but his overhead pass runs out of play.
    • 39' Dani Alves is adjudged offside when he receives the ball on the right touchline. The decision is met by howls of anger by his Barca team-mates.
    • 38' Valdes is able to punch away the ball from the resulting free-kick.
    • 37' Pique brings down Neymar, after the defender had lost the ball sloppily. He deservedly gets a yellow card, his sixth in succession.
    • 35' Thiago handles, as a Barca move breaks down.
    • 34' Borges is on the floor after getting a bang on the head from Puyol. But he is soon up. He must have been tempted to stay down and spare himself the misery of another hour of this.
    • 32' Thiago's simple pass through the Santos is just cut out. But at the moment, Barca seem to be able to cut apart the Brazilians at will.
    • 29' Former Manchester City star Elano coming on for Danilo. It may well be tactical, though Danilo has a slight limp. It could be an invented one, to save his embarrassment.
    • 28' Fabregas hits the post, after being set up by another scooped pass by Xavi. The running behind the Santos defence from the Barca midfield is sublime.
    • 27' Borges has a shot on target that is easily saved by Victor Valdes. Iniesta did well to come back to cover and hurry the Brazilian striker up.
    • 26' Andres Iniesta has just miscontrolled the ball in midfield, which is probably a first in this game!
    • 25' Messi is set through the centre by a reverse pass from Fabregas, but Edu Dracena does brilliantly to recover.
    • 24' 2-0, and this time it is the creator of the first, Xavi, who scores the second. After a great spell of passing, Dani Alves crosses low towards the edge of the box. Rodrigo commits himself too early, and Xavi slams home his seventh goal of the season.
    • 21' Barcelona's possession stats are over 70 percent! It looks like a training-ground exercise at the moment.
    • 20' Fabregas breaks down the left and puts in Thiago down the left channel, but two Santos players deny him.
    • 19' Abidal denies Ganso with a tackle 40 yards out.
    • 16' Messi makes it 1-0 to Barcelona, and it is a beauty. Messi looks to be running the wrong way, then checks back and sets up Xavi, who in turn releases the Argentinian through the legs of Durval. Messi's finish is chipped, composed and in the back of the net, despite the best efforts of Rodrigo.
    • 15' Neymar flicks the ball for Ganso, but his left-footed shot is weak and wide.
    • 14' A foul by Pique on Ganso on the right-hand edge of the box. This is a rare opportunity for the Brazilians.
    • 12' Messi denied by a good save from Santos goalkeeper Barbosa. He drifts past Enrique, and shoots left-footed. Thiago shoots the follow-up straight at the goalkeeper.
    • 9' Fabregas denied as he tries to play a one-touch pass in towards Messi. But Barca look in danger of over-complicating things and trying to fashion an extra pass where none is needed.
    • 7' Referee Ravshan Irmatov waves play on as Thiago goes down in the box trying to run on to a one-two with Messi.
    • 6' Neymar denied by a Puyol tackle, as Santos counter-attack. Wasteful from the youngster, as for a second there was a 2-on-1.
    • 5' Alves makes space down the right, but Rodrigo heads clear the cross at the near post.
    • 4' Messi almost plays in Cesc Fabregas down the left channel. As expected, the European champions are making the early running.
    • 3' Fine move down the right between Messi and Dani Alves, before Rodrigo stops the Argentinian on the edge of the box with a thudding tackle.
    • 2' Barca are playing three centre-backs in Gerard Pique, Carlos Puyol and Eric Abidal, though Abidal has licence to roam.
    • 1' Kick off in Japan. Santos in the white, kicking from left to right. Barca in their traditional colours.
    • 10.30 And all the talk is of Neymar against Messi. This is a chance for the 19-year-old to make his mark on a world stage. Barcelona have selected their strongest team, proof that Pep Guardiola is taking this tournament very seriously.
