    • - Thanks for joining us here on Eurosport, hope to see you again soon.
    • Paraguay head into the final without winning a game, they don't deserve it and they won't have won any new fans but they won't care, they face uruguay on Sunday.
    • - Veron wins it for Paraguay with another excellent penalty
    • - Miku keeps Venezuela in it with a confident strike into the top left corner
    • - Martinez with a thunderbolt of a penalty clips the underside of the bar and goes in, I think it would have called Vega if he was in the way
    • - Lucena with the first poor penalty as his shot lacks power and accuracy and Villar saves easily down to his right
    • - Riveros powers home another great pen, top left corner, unstoppable
    • - Rey levels things up, Villar guessed right but it was far enough into the corner
    • - Barrios puts Paraguay back into the lead sending Vega the wrong way
    • - Maldonado levels things up for Venezuela with an equally good penalty, hard into the bottom left
    • - Ortigoza with a sensational penalty there, unsaveable into the top right corner
    • Paraguay keep up their record of being unable to win a game, but can they progress nonetheless?
    • 30' There is the end of extra-time and we go to penalties
    • 28' Arango puts in a good cross from the right towards Rondon, Villar out well to punch clear though
    • 27' This match is destined to end goalless, Venezuela 100% deserve to be ahead but it just isn't happening for them
    • 26' Venezuela still pushing as Rosales sends a long throw into the box, it is well cleared though
    • 25' Martinez shows Paraguay's desperation as he shoots from near enough the half-way line, needless to say it goes over the bar
    • 24' Paraguay time wasting now, they must be confident about their penalty taking abilities
    • 23' Decent effort from range from Maldonado, his left-footed strike is dragged just wide of the post though
    • 22' Rondon the latest to break into the Paraguayan box, he does Da Silva for pace but his ball across the box is sliced out of play
    • 21' Paraguay hanging on by their fingernails here, they are getting hammered by Venezuela but their goal is living a charmed life
    • 20' Cichero with a lovely jinking run beats three players but eventually loses it as he gets into the left hand side of the box
    • 19' Tremendous throw-in from Rosales set Miku off down the right, he got to the bye-line and Rondon was free in the box but Villar does well to block his cut-back
    • 18' Booking for Veron after he shoved Miku over off the ball, could have been another red there
    • 17' Venezuela win a corner and Arango beats the first man, I can barely type I am that shocked but it is easily cleared on the penalty spot
    • 16' Second half of extra-time commences
    • 15' Paraguay will be hoping for penalties now
    • 15' There's half-time in extra-time. Venezuela have brought the game to life at this late stage and are favourites to win this now especuially since Santana's sending off
    • 14' Rondon tries an acrobatic overhead kick after a flick-on from Maldonado, it is easily saved though
    • 13' Rey floats in the free-kick but Riveros heads it clear
    • 12' Santana gets his marching orders for a second bookable offence. He goes in late on Rondon and can't have too many complaints, Paraguay in trouble
    • 11' Santana at the other end produces a pop shot from the edge of the box, but it is straight at Vega
    • 10' It is all Venezuela in extra-time as Rondon gets to the bye-line but Villar does well to block his cut-back
    • 7' Miku with another chance for Venezuela but his volley from inside the box is tame
    • 6' Piris takes out Gonzalez thirty yards out, Arango tries a shot which comes crashing back off the bar. Arango should really give up crossing and just carry on shooting
    • 5' We can all guess where Arango's delivery ends up. That's right, cleared at the near post.
    • 4' So close for Venezuela. Maldonado with a bit of skill outside the box makes himself some space, his shot is going well wide but Miku sticks out a leg and deflects it on to the post. Da Silva puts it out for a corner
    • 3' Vega makes an excellent catch from the delivery
    • 2' Martinez tries a shot from range which is deflected behind for a corner
    • 1' Extra-time begins
    • 90' It really has been a shocking game, especially the second-half. As favourites Paraguay should have taken the game to Venezuela but they were terrified of making a mistake and were timid throughout. They might be good at keeping clean sheets but they're making no friends amongst neutrals
    • 90+2' Estigarribia wins a free-kick on the left but the referee doesn't let him take it there's the end of the 90 minutes
    • 90+1' Two more painful minutes will be added on
    • 90' Arango is just useless, another corner cleared at the near post
    • 89' Cichero's shot is deflected behind by Da Silva, corner kick
    • 88' Vega showing at least the intent of Venezuela as he spends no time on the ball and plays the ball long towards Miku, he can't control the long ball though and Da Silva clears it
    • 87' He looks like he is running it off, as if he has any choice
    • 86' Cichero has gone down off the ball, worrying for Venezuela who have made all their changes now
    • 85' Venezuela have about as offensive a team on the pitch as they could field, they ahven't created anything for a long while though
    • 84' Maldonado replaces Gonzalez
    • 83' Lovely bit of build-up from Paraguay there but spoiled by Barrios as he strays offside before Piris can cross
    • 82' Miku trying to inject some energy but he runs down a blind alley and is crowded out on the edge of the Paraguayan penalty box
    • 81' That is Paraguay's final substitution and they must rely on those on the field to produce now
    • 80' That's the end of Santa Cruz after all of five minutes, on comes Osvaldo Martinez
    • 79' Santa Cruz is down holding his hamstring, his career is really being hampered by injuries at the moment
    • 78' Arango goes for the shot this time from all of 45 yards, at least it was on target, but comfortable for Villar
    • 77' Yellow card for Santana as he goes in late on Rondon
    • 76' Add no ambition to that list, Barrios does well to hold up play on the edge of the box for a good 30 seconds and when he looks up there is still no one in the box
    • 75' In all honesty this second half has been absolutely dire, no quality, no tempo, no efforts on goal, no entertainment
    • 74' The substitutions seem to suggest both teams are going to try and win thie before extra-time, they aren't showing it yet though
    • 73' Here comes Roque Santa Cruz, repacing Valdez
    • 72' Gonzalez goes down very heavily after going up for a header, I think he's just winded though
    • 71' Miku comes on for Moreno for Venezuela
    • 70' Veron plays a hopeful and lazy ball forward for Valdez to chase but it is far too long
    • 69' Marcelo Estigarribia comes on to replace the very hit and miss Édgar Barreto
    • 68' The pace has completely gone out of the game, build-up from both sides is painfully slow and by the time the ball gets forward there are huge numbers of defenders in the way of the attack
    • 67' Barrios and Valdez link-up well in the box, but Valdez is off balance when he hits his shot which ends up a long way wide
    • 66' Valdez trying to run at Rosales but he stands up well and puts the ball out for a throw-in
    • 65' The game is really lacking quality now as rather than relaxing the two sides seem to be tensing up over the 90 minutes
    • 64' Rosales is a threat bursting forward from right-back, he tries to find Rondon with an early cross but Da Silva defends it well
    • 63' Barreto has a go at a corner and that is even worse, it not only didn't beat the first man, it barely reached him, absolutely pathetic
    • 62' Barreto with a low ball in which Riveros does well to win a corner off
    • 61' Barrios taken out late by Vizcarrondo twenty-five yards out, good position for a free-kick
    • 60' The resulting corner was taken by Arango who must be the worst crosser of a ball I have ever seen, he is incapable of beating the first man and if the manager doesn't take him off corners then he is mad
    • 59' Hopeful lob into the Paraguay box bobbled around in the box, Gonzalez entered the fray and got a toe-poked effort in on goal which was well blocked by Villar
    • 58' Venezuela get out of their own half for the first time in a long while but are failing to find any gaps in the Paraguayan defence
    • 57' Barreto swings in the corner from the left and Valdez meets it but it was slightly behind him and very difficult to direct on target
    • 56' Barreto's shot hits the wall and goes out for a corner
    • 55' First booking of the night as Valdez races on to a chipped through ball, Rosales had got the wrong side of him and dragged him to the ground, definite yellow card
    • 54' Paraguay having a good spell of pressure here, but they have showed a lack of cutting edge througout the tournament, can they change their ways?
    • 53' Barreto with a clever chip in to the box which creates some havoc in the defence but it is eventually hacked away
    • 52' Barrios and Valdez find themselves two-on-two and Valdez gets in on goal on the right of the box, Vega dashes out and Valdez could have chipped him but just blasts it straight at him
    • 51' Gonzalez breaks down the right and puts in a clever cross with the outside of his boot, it was heading onto the head of Rondon but was just cut out in time
    • 50' Arango has yet another chance to swing in a cross from the left and yet again his set-piece delivery is absolutely woeful, terrible from the captain
    • 49' Riveros is felled from behind just inside the Venezuelan half, they play it short this time which is probably a good idea judging on their previous crosses
    • 48' Barreto has a good opportunity to swing in a free-kick from the left but it is really poor and straight into the hands of Vega
    • 47' Venezuela have substituted Grenddy Perozo for their record appearance holder Jose Manuel Rey at half time
    • 46' Paraguay kick-off for the second half
    • 45' It has turned out to be a very even first half, Paraguay had the better of the early stages but Venezuela were all over them towards the end of it
    • 46' There is the half-time whistle
    • 46' There will be just one minute of injury time
    • 45' Gonzalez takes this one but it is even worse than Arango's attempts as it flies straight out of play over the crossbar
    • 44' It's another free-kick for Venezuela as Caceres goes through the back of Arango on the left flank
    • 43' The reulting corner is again very poor indeed from Arango not beating the first man
    • 42' Two great chances for Venezuela as Moreno heads a cross from the right against the cross bar from 12 yards, then Rondon pounces on the rebound but it is well saved by Villar
    • 41' Valdez manages to break into the opponents half but he is very isolated and he does well just to win a throw-in
    • 40' Arango drives it in but it again doesn't clear the first man, unimpressive
    • 39' Silly foul from Veron on di Georgi in the middle of the park and Arango is over it again
    • 38' Venezuela continue to break at pace when they have the opportunity, Rondon being slid in on the left, he is challenged but wins a throw-in
    • 37' Barreto loses out on the right wing again trying to do too much and concedes a throw-in
    • 36' Venezuela get a free-kick on the left as they come back into this now, Arango's delivery is disappointing again though
    • 35' Venezuela have the ball in the net but it has been ruled out. From nowhere a deep cross found Cichero at the back post, his header back across goal found the big centre back Vizcarrondo who found the back of the net. His effort seemed to deflect off a team mate who perhaps was offside on its way in, harsh decision though
    • 34' Barreto proving a bit of a weak link in open play, his set-piece delivery is excellent but he is giving the ball away alot in midfield
    • 33' Paraguay having the better of things now, in terms of possession and territory, they can't fashion much by the way of clear-cut chances though
    • 32' Riveros and Barreto play a clever one-two by the right bye-line but Barreto's cross is really poor and easy for Vega to claim
    • 31' Arango is back on the pitch but he doesn't look too comfortable at all on his right ankle
    • 30' Barreto swings in another good cross to find da Silva at the back post but his header should have been back across goal instead of straight at the goalkeeper
    • 29' Caceres goes down very easily on the right under a challenge from Cichero and wins a free-kick
    • 28' He's being stretchered off and that is terrible news for Venezuela, he isn't being substituted yet though as they will give him some time to recover
    • 27' Juan Arango is down inside his own penalty box and it isn't clear why, perhaps he landed strangely after his clearing header moments ago
    • 26' Barreto puts in the corner but Arango defends it well on the penalty spot
    • 25' paraguay break at pace and Barrios finds Valdez who was in on goal but from a tight angle, he tries a shot but it is easy for Vega, he spills it though and it goes for a corner
    • 24' Gonzalez takes it but he can't beat the man at the near post
    • 23' Rondon showing great pace and power down the left, eventually winning the corner
    • 22' It's become quiet scrappy now as the impetus has gone out of both teams, neither can string much together and this is how I expected the first 10 minutes to be really
    • 21' The game continues as the ball is played back to Villar
    • 20' Similar situation as Moreno and Da Silva jump for the ball and Moreno comes off a lot worse and is down holding his face, there wasn't a foul though
    • 19' Barrios gets an arm in the face from Cichero as they challenge for a throw-in, there was no malice but he gets the free-kick
    • 18' Valdez and Barrios very nearly link up on the edge of the box as the former produces a clever reverse pass which the latter can't quite get on the end of and it runs through to Vega
    • 17' Paraguay are trying to play a nice passing game but they seem to get bored quickly and resort to the ball over the top to chase which isn't coming off at the minute
    • 16' An Ortigoza cross towards Barrios is cut out but it falls straight to Barreto on the edge of the area, it was a decent chance but his volley went well over the bar
    • 15' The game calming down a bit now and slowing in to a more sustainably pace
    • 14' Valdez comes deep to get on the ball but tries to do too much as he breaks forward from the centre-circle and loses possession
    • 13' Very high tempo and a lot of space for both teams, and it seems like the final fifteen minutes rather than the opening.
    • 12' Paraguay break down to the other end and are presented a chance by some sloppy defending but Valdez's left-footed effort is well over the bar
    • 11' Barrios easily cuts out Arango's cross in and Paraguay clear it comfortably
    • 10' Venezuelan free-kick on the left-flank which Arango will take
    • 9' It's an incredibly open start to the match and promises goals at this stage
    • 8' Caceres wins Paraguay a free-kick on the right wing, Barreto puts in a great delivery, somehow Veron is completely unmarked eight yards out and his header is brilliantly kept out by Vega
    • 7' Venezuela getting forward now with a flowing counter attack that saw Cichero played in on the left, he hit it first time on the edge of the box but it was comfortable for Villar
    • 6' Barreto swings in a great deep cross from the right towards Caceres who was steaming in at the back post, it just evades his head though
    • 5' Barrios tussles with Vizcarrondo as they challenge for a header and the Paraguayan is penalised
    • 4' Paraguay break themselves as Valdez races on to a long ball over the top, his first touch was poor and forced him wide and his cut-back couldn't find Barrios
    • 3' Vega shows what the Venezuelan plan is there as he claims a cross and immediately hammers it forward towards Rondon, they are looking to catch Paraguay unawares and break at speed
    • 2' Paraguay the first team to get the ball down and begin to control possession, you would expect them to dominate the play and Venezuela to play on the counter
    • 1' Venezuela belatedly get the game underway after a tv related delay!
    • 01.44 It is very odd that Paraguay haven't won a game in normal time yet and find themselves in the semi-finals, they certainly won't care though
    • 01.42 The Venezuelen anthem a more traditional number, but equally enjoyable
    • 01.41 The national anthems are underway and we are not far from kick-off, I must confess I've not had the pleasure of the Paraguayan anthem before, it's very jolly
    • 01.40 Venezuela's star man Juan Arango is making his 98th appearance for his country tonight
    • 01.35 The two sides met earlier in the competition in an incredible Group B contest which saw Venezuela score two very late goals to come back from 3-1 down and snatch a 3-3 draw
    • 01.30 Paraguay are the odds on favourites to qualify for the final with the bookies, but there have been so many shocks in this year's competition it might not be wise to put too much money on it
    • 01.25 Team News: Venezuela: Vega; Rosales, Perozo, Vizcarrondo, Cichero; Lucena, Cesar Gonzalez, Arango; Maldonado, Miku, Rondon.
    • 01.20 Team News: Paraguay: Villar; Caceres, Da Silva, Veron, Piris; Santana, Riveros, Ortigoza, Barreto; Barrios, Haedo.
    • 01.15 No player on either team has scored more than a single goal so far this tournament, Venezuela have six different goal scorers compared to Paraguay's five.
    • 01.10 Paraguay have won the competition twice in the past, firstly in 1953 and most recently in 1979, the last time they reached the semi-finals was in 1983.
    • 01.05 This is the first time Venezuela have reached the semi-final of the Copa America at the fifteenth time of asking.
