    • 23:10 Iker Casillas lifts the King's Cup aloft, completing his own personal silverware collection, and Real Madrid are crowned the 2011 Copa del Rey winners! That's all from me tonight, have a good evening!
    • 120+2 The free-kick is cleared... and the whistle goes! Mass celebrations from Real Madrid, and rightfully so. What a contest, and what a dramatic finale. Ronaldo's goal the difference, and it's advantage Madrid in the Clasico Gauntlet Series!
    • 120+1 Real Madrid have failed once more to finish a game with 11 men, but I doubt they'll care. Di Maria brings down Messi to stop a Barcelona break. Pinto is forward for the free-kick...
    • 120' Final minute now. Carvalho burns more time with a slow trudge off the pitch where Garay will replace him. Adriano has also been forced off.
    • 119' Adebayor, brilliant to beat his man! Shoots, saved by Pinto but Ronaldo has the rebound - takes a touch and it proves pivotal as Alves gets an inteception in to put it over the bar!
    • 118' Ronaldo bursts forward on the counter once more. He has Adebayor for support, but chooses to keep going and he forces a foul from Adriano, who goes into the book for his troubles.
    • 117' Messi finds a bit of space, feeds Pedro - shoots! Closed down! Had to be, too!
    • 116' Speaking of the makeshift attacker, he collides with Carvalho, who makes the most of it to kill precious seconds on the clock.
    • 115' Pique is up front. Yes, it's desperation time for Guardiola, who can't be used to seeing his side fail to find the back of the net.
    • 114' Adebayor impresses by coming back to dispossess Messi before putting a decent long ball forward to Ronaldo on the break. It's dealt with, but it was a rare side of the Togo striker that very few people see!
    • 112' Granero also came on for the 2nd period of ET, in place of Khedira.
    • 111' Adebayor bursts forward to the right side of the Barca penalty area, and tries to hold it up long enough for backup to arrive, but his control is poor and the ball goes off for a goal kick.
    • 109' Di Maria tracks back well to thwart the overlapping Alves.
    • 108' Keita now enters for Busquets, who'd just ended a Barca attack by catching Carvalho mid-clearance.
    • 107' Ibrahim Afellay has come on for the 2nd period in place of out-of-sorts David Villa, by the way.
    • 106' Here we go again. Barcelona kick off needing at least one goal to keep their cup hopes alive.
    • 105+2 Half-time in extra time, and Real lead. We're in for a big 15 minutes, I suspect.
    • 105+1 Sloppy defending by Di Maria allows Pique a cross, but it's overhit.
    • 105' Barcelona have a mountain to climb now. Guardiola has three subs remaining still, but there's a lot of tired legs out there.
    • 103' 1-0 REAL MADRID! RONALDO! Header from a pinpoint Di Maria cross after good interplay with Marcelo on the left. Could that be the winner?
    • 102' And now it's Pepe's turn to ride his luck, snapping at the heels of Villa far too late. The referee has struggled to keep on top of a lot of these incidents, or perhaps he just doesn't want to cause yet another Real red card controversy?
    • 101' Free-kick is played short to Messi by Xavi, but his attempt to loft it over into the box is poor and cleared by the white back line.
    • 100' Alonso impedes Iniesta, who was working well with Messi in a tight space. Looked like it could easily have been a second yellow offense. Would the ref have booked him for that if he didn't already have one?
    • 98' RONALDO! Low shot just wide from the right! Great break as Pepe robs Xavi and great pace by the Portugese winger to beat Adriano and get the shot on. Alonso with the through ball, which was a trademark Xabi precision one at that!
    • 97' Two hours of football tonight will take it out of both sides. Real are back here at the weekend against Valencia, though they're inexplicably going back to Madrid first. Barcelona host Osasauna.
    • 96' Messi has it inside the Madrid area again, he's sheperded out by Pepe but he's not done yet and wins a free-kick deep on the left flank, which the champions once again work from short.
    • 95' Khedira gives away a free-kick near the half-way line by fouling Iniesta.
    • 94' Good bursting run down the centre by Iniesta, but his short ball to Villa inside the 'D' triggers the offside flag, even though the striker looked level.
    • 93' Speaking of lucky, Adriano gets the pendulum swing in his favour when he slyly nudges Ronaldo out of collecting the ball on the right side of the Barca box.
    • 92' Arbeloa slides in late and his foot catches Adriano in the... well, you can imagine the rest. Between that and the stamp in the first half, the right-back has been quite lucky tonight.
    • 91' Real Madrid kick off the first period of extra time at the Mestalla.
    • 90+2' Full-time. We will have 30 more shortly to decide this cup final. While not on par with the 6-2 and 5-0 games of recent years, this non-scoring war of attrition has been compelling and hard-fought from start to finish. And it's far from over...
    • 90+1' Di Maria twists and turns on the left to find space for a cross, he does but it is marginially heavy and Khedira cannot keep it alive.
    • 90' DI MARIA! Tipped over! Exquisite drive that may or may not have clipped the head of Pique en route...
    • 89' Ramos bravely dispossesses Messi inside the Real box - a split-second later and it would have been a penalty. The defending tonight has been top drawer.
    • 87' Adebayor does extremely well to take the ball forward with four striped shirts hovering around him. He tries to thread Ronaldo through... he's onside... and it takes a superb interception from Alves to deny the Portugese forward!
    • 86' Now Di Maria and Alves collide out by the left-hand touchline.
    • 85' Pinto gets involved in the Barca play now, coming out of goal to collect a loose ball and leaving two men back closer to his goal to get the game moving for his team again! The pressure is off when a pass is handballed by Di Maria, anyway - which earns him a caution.
    • 84' Xavi chips a ball into the box which Messi collects but Marcelo does well to force a corner before Messi can turn to goal with it.
    • 83' Alves' deep cross is headed out of danger by Carvalho, but Barca still have it...
    • 82' Talk about a game of two halves!
    • 81' ...but as soon as I say that, Messi feeds Iniesta! Casillas puts it past the post!
    • 80' Barcelona put together another lengthy string of possession, but Real - led by the performance of Carvalho - are keeping them out of the 18-yard box...
    • 79' Could the first Clasico Copa final in 21 years be heading towards penalties?
    • 77' Alves looks up for it from here, but comes nowhere near Casillas' goal.
    • 76' Messi embarks on a trademark run and leaves three white shirts in his wake. One of them is Marcelo, who upends little Lionel for a free-kick 30 yards out.
    • 75' Alves up again, cuts back, finds MESSI! Saved! Rebound is fluffed by Villa but Barca rally on the other flank now... Pedro cuts inside Arbeloa and almost chips Casillas at the far post! The keeper gets a hand on it!
    • 74' Adebayor goes up with Macherano, who milks minimal contact and gets Adebayor booked. Poor conduct from the makeshift defender.
    • 73' As you'd expect, it's Ronaldo and Di Maria flanking Adebayor now.
    • 72' Villa 1-2s with Messi but can't cut inside the excellent Carvalho. Attacking throw Barca is wasted.
    • 71' I have to say, the assistant made the right call. Pedro was just - JUST - offside.
    • 70' It's Ozil off for Adebayor, which is slightly surprising as the youngster has been one of Real's most creative players, certainly moreso than Di Maria.
    • 69' Pedro put through clnically by Messi... AND SCORES! Or does he? Offside flag up! Looks a photo finish on the replay!
    • 68' Alves concedes a foul inside the centre-circle, no booking.
    • 67' Adebayor is stripped off and ready to come on for Real, we're just awaiting to see who for. It's a positive switch though, with no actual strikers currently on the pitch in white, and it'll be just what Madrid need to get back into this game.
    • 65' Messi! Half-volley off target off the back of more Barca pressure.
    • 64' Messi's in the book now. Encroachment on a Real free-kick attempt. Silly yellow to pick up. Alonso on target from the set play but can't beat Pinto.
    • 63' Pedro buys a corner off the sliding challenge of Arbeloa, but Casillas deals with the long delivery.
    • 62' More Barca pressure... closed down as far as Pedro and Real break for all of 5 seconds before the men in red and blue have it back. Regular business is resuming it would appear.
    • 61' Messi takes the free-kick himself, 30 yards out, smashes it straight into the wall.
    • 60' Cynical challenge by Alonso on Messi earns the Spanish midfielder a yellow card.
    • 59' A superb interception from Carvalho denies Villa from breaking after Real lose possession in sloppy fashion.
    • 57' Villa finds the side netting. That's twice in ten minutes for Barca, but I don't think Casillas has had to make a serious save yet.
    • 56' The winner of this match will take a massive psychological boost going into the Champions League semi-final, that's for sure.
    • 55' Alves weaves his way past a couple players, playing a lot more central than you'd find most right-backs, before moving it short to Messi. The playmaker tries to return the pass to finish the move off, but it's cleared.
    • 54' Messi wins a corner off Carvalho trying to play Villa through. The man himself takes it short, and again it's worked backwards...
    • 52' Wrong side of the roof, I should clarify...!
    • 51' PEDRO! Roof of the net! This is more like it from Barca.
    • 49' Alves steals possession from Di Maria, is fouled by the Argentine soon after but has advantage... which disappears when his cross attempt is blocked off for a throw. Nothing comes of that, either.
    • 48' Villa cleverly flicks on for Iniesta to latch onto, but he's felled by Arbeloa. Penalty, perhaps? The referee tells the World Cup match-winner to get up, though a replay shows he was fouled - but outside the box.
    • 47' Barcelona have started the second half a little sharper than in the first, can they keep it going?
    • 46' We're back underway as Real Madrid kick off the second half of the 2011 Copa final!
    • 45+1' It's half-time at the Mestalla and I'd like to know who saw the first half unfolding like this. Real Madrid have been the better of the two rivals and Barcelona probably haven't lost possession this many times in a game since Guardiola took charge.
    • 45' Great cross, even better leap by Pepe... beautifully timed to beat Alves to the ball and Pinto was helpless. The chance of the half, which is almost over.
    • 44' Ronaldo, Ozil... cross to PEPE! Heads onto the post! What a passage of play!
    • 43' Villa has won a few free-kicks so far, but he is not having much fun out there at all. The way this game is going isn't suitable to his style of attacking.
    • 42' Di Maria tries to dink a ball over the back line to Pepe, who is somehow Real's most forward player at the time. He's offside, to boot.
    • 41' Ramos cools the pressure by seeing Iniesta's dogged pressure off and Real have a defensive throw.
    • 40' Xavi's delivery is headed clear, Barca try again and Marcelo gives away another corner. This one is worked short and they win a third straight corner from it.
    • 39' Barca attack, a little more like them with Messi deeper to help get something cooking... foul by Madrid but advantage played and Barcelona hacve a corner.
    • 37' It was a foul by Pepe on Busquets. I don't think it was a yellow for the Barca man, more of an argument that the foul should have been Pepe's second. My apologies, ignore that yellow icon below.
    • 36' Ronaldo put through on the right this time, kept wide by his man though and his shot is parried. Busquets is booked in the aftermath, though it isn't clear what for.
    • 35' This isn't the Barca many expected to see turn up... a little jaded tonight, so far.
    • 34' Pedro fouls Carvalho, and is booked for an angry reaction while the duo are still grounded. He almost had him in a wrestling-like body scissors!
    • 33' Marcelo skips between two striped shirts and puts Ronaldo through on the left... flag goes up again, but that didn't look offside to me.
    • 32' Ronaldo is offside trying to latch onto another long pass. He's adapting well in his new role, but can't get the mechanics just right enough to make an impact.
    • 30' Superb chipped early cross from Ozil finds RONALDO! Again he can't connect and Pinto collects.
    • 29' I do not envy this referee one bit. He's going to have a long night, by the evidence of the first half hour.
    • 28' Powder keg situation at the Mestalla as Villa tries too hard to win a free-kick against Arbeloa. It works, despite looking soft, but the two clash after the incident. Replays show a stamp by the right-back on Villa.
    • 27' Xavi rescues a Barcelona attack and feeds Alves, whose cross is blocked and Real break.
    • 26' Pedro and Pepe race for a loose ball, and the Portugese enforcer is booked for bringing the forward down. That was nowhere near the worst foul in the game so far, and yet it's got the first yellow card.
    • 25' Real show a little Barcelona flair of their own, before Marcelo spoils the party with a rash final ball and a foul when trying to regain possession.
    • 24' Madrid are currently enduring their longest spell without a Kings Cup victory - 1993, their last successful domestic cup campaign.
    • 23' A Madrid attack ends when Pepe's long pass goes astray.
    • 21' Messi gives away a free-kick in the Real half. Deep free-kick attempts to find Ozil one-on-one with Pinto, but the German forward can't bring it down and it's a goal kick.
    • 20' Di Maria and Marcelo team up on the left, with the former winning a corner off Alves.
    • 19' Pedro recieves a pass cleverly to invite a foul from Khedira. Xavi tries to pick up Busquets' run into the box with the free-kick, but Casillas collects safely.
    • 18' Barcelona get a corner, but work it short to keep possession. Real press well to send it back to the Barca half.
    • 17' Di Maria handballs Busquets' attempt to clear. Free-kick.
    • 16' A quarter of an hour in and I'd suggest that Di Stefano's 'mice' comments have had a psychological effect on some of the men in all white. This is a strong start, despite the possession stats growing against them.
    • 14' Busquets comes in heavy on Alonso... my, that should have been AT LEAST a yellow. Studs may have been showing there, which could easily have been worse than a yellow - but just a free-kick as it stands.
    • 13' Mourinho's men still appear to be galvanised from their strong finish to the league clash at the weekend. Barca have looked stylish in possession so far but didn't expect this kind of start from such a defensive Real line-up, it seems.
    • 12' Ozil to RONALDO! Cleared just in front of the line by Mascherano! Arbeloa has it, his cross is heavy. First big chance!
    • 11' Pedro chases a long ball down the right, but Marcelo sees it out for a defensive throw-in.
    • 10' Marcelo jumps into the back of his man, and no free-kick there, either. I'll say this much - the physical early start of Madrid is working, even though it really shouldn't.
    • 9' Ramos flattens Villa with a premature jump for a high ball, and appears to also hold back the forward when he attempts to pull himself free of the wreckage to salvage the still-in-play ball. But for some reason, the free-kick goes Madrid's way. Baffling.
    • 8' It will be interesting to see how Madrid attack before subs come into play. Ronaldo has assumed the role of their 'number 9' target man attacker, which of course isn't his style of play at all. Khedira gets in a low cross, it's cleared.
    • 7' Xavi caps off the spell with a 20-yard speculative drive which flails well wide of Casillas' right-hand post.
    • 6' Now it's Ramos' turn to foul Messi at the other end. Barca chose to work the free-kick instead of attacking directly, and begin a spell of their trademark lengthy possession.
    • 5' But he fakes it and chips it into the box... Ramos on the volley! Did Adriano handball it? Replays show the desperate pleas from the Spaniard are ridiculous, nowhere near hands.
    • 4' ...or is it? He is squaring it up!
    • 3' Early handbags as Di Maria is checked by Dani Alves. The referee does a good job of diffusing the scene. Free kick coming up, but it's a little far for Ronaldo to have a dig...
    • 2' Mascherano, playing at centre-back tonight in Puyol's absence, trips Ronaldo up. Alonso takes the free-kick deep on the left... but it flies past the crowded box and off for a goal kick.
    • 1' Barcelona kick off the 2011 Copa del Rey final!
    • 20:30 The teams are out. It's almost time. Madrid watched their Liga hopes pretty much end with the draw on Saturday - can they take the cup as revenge? It's time to find out! Xavi and Casillas shake hands as respective captains and kick-off is moments away...
    • 20:25 The total score of the last six Clasico clashes combined is Barclona 17, Real Madrid 4. Wow. This will be the first Copa Clasico in nearly 15 years, however. Will the formbook go out the window?
    • 20:20 We've just ten minutes to go until kick-off at the Mestalla - but if the clock is ticking far too slowly for you, kill some time with our ULTIMATE Clasico Cup Final preview! Link
    • 20:15 So Ramos shifts to centre-back with Albiol sent-off on Saturday, with Arbeloa at right-back and Ozil starting at the expense of Benzema. Mourinho has attacking options in the French striker as well as Adebayor, Kaka and Higuain on the bench, and the travelling Madrid fans will want to see more attempts to breach the Barca defence than at the weekend.
    • 20:10 REAL MADRID: Casillas, Arbeloa, Ramos, Carvalho, Marcelo, Pepe, Alonso, Khedira, Özil, Di María, Ronaldo. Subs: Dudek, Garay, Kaká, Granero, Adebayor, Benzema, Higuaín.
    • 20:05 So it's a change of goalkeeper for Pep Guardiola, while Puyol isn't quite fit enough to keep his starting berth after limping off at the Bernabeu.
    • 20:00 BARCELONA: Pinto, Alves, Pique, Mascherano, Adriano, Xavi, Busquets, Iniesta, Pedro, Messi, Villa. Subs: Valdes, Puyol, Milito, Maxwell, Keita, Thiago, Afellay.
    • 19:55 And with the league all but destined to remain at Camp Nou, Jose Mourinho will be extra determined to strike back as Real pursue the domestic and European cups - particularly after the criticism following his tactics on Saturday. Article: I'm Madrid coach, not Di Stefano
    • 19:50 This season's Kings Cup has come down to 1st v 2nd in the league, at the home of 3rd placed Valencia. It's also the second 'Clasico' in a matter of weeks, with the first ending 1-1 in La Liga at the weekend. Read the full match report here
