    • 90+2 The final whistle goes as a Rubin corner comes to nothing and Chelsea have one foot in the semi-finals after a 3-1 win. The job is only half done though - Rubin do have that away goal! All set for a cracker next week.
    • 90+1 In the first of two added minutes as Chelsea fans cheer Benitez as he retrieves the ball from his technical area.
    • 90' Azpilicueta with a cross aimed for Torres but even in this form he won't reach that. The loose ball drops for Ramires but his shot is well off target.
    • 89' Chelsea looking to string some passes together in the latter stages. Rubin standing off now.
    • 88' All a bit scrappy now - Chelsea happy with 3-1 and Rubin seemingly knackered.
    • 87' Cech claims the ball after a slip from Luiz allowed Karadeniz to cross.
    • 86' Booking for Orbaiz after a late slide into the back of Ramires.
    • 85' A long aimless ball from Rubin lands in Cech's arms. They've been poor this second half.
    • 84' Navas with a slide tackle on Marin that pleases all 19 Rubin fans.
    • 83' CHELSEA SUB: Marin replaces Benayoun; RUBIN SUB: Kuzin comes off for Kasaev.
    • 82' Torres could have a hat-trick here but he is offside after Ramires's shot is deflected into his path. Correct as when the Brazilian struck the initial effort, Torres was past the last defender.
    • 82' Taken short and Benayoun wins another corner. Some activity on the bench but the corner is taken, short again and another corner won by Lampard off Karadeniz.
    • 81' Corner to Chelsea as Hazard is challenged on the left after a driving run.
    • 80' Rubin very much on the back foot now as Chelsea stroke it about confidently. Luiz almost releases Oscar but the visitors clear.
    • 79' Terry's powers may be on the wane but he is one of the best headers in the world, showcasing that skill with a big clearance from the edge of his six-yard box.
    • 78' CHELSEA SUB: Nope, Benayoun stays as Oscar replaces Mata.
    • 77' Benayoun is booked for a late challenge. Could be his last act as Oscar is coming on...
    • 76' Gokdeniz is played in but he is marginally offside.
    • 75' Terry with a foul on Rondon as the Colombian gets the better of him.
    • 74' Chelsea now looking to keep as much possession as possible. Rubin not getting a sniff right now.
    • 72' Chelsea have had 14 efforts on goal today, Rubin 9. Fair scoreline so far.
    • 71' I said 3-1 beforehand and I'll stick with that prediction, although I can see Chelsea getting one more with Hazard on the pitch.
    • 70' Getting different stats on Torres's record - turns out THAT was his 19th of the season. Must be a dodgy own-goal in there.
    • 69' Lampard wide to Mata, he skips into the left AND DELIVERS A FANTASTIC CROSS FOR TORRES! 3-1! Bullet header into the top left, he leapt like a salmon and just powered it home!
    • 68' Fine challenge from Lampard on Eremenko. If he is going to sit deeper he may as well make interventions like that.
    • 67' Chelsea corner but the Rubin keeper gathers well. A bit of the 'oomph' has gone out of this match.
    • 66' CHELSEA SUB: Moses, who scored the second, is replaced by Hazard. I'd have taken Lamps off, but what do I know (awaits inevitable 'banter').
    • 66' Lampard is having a limited impact in this match - he has his strengths but should probably come off soon.
    • 65' Rondon picks it up after nice play from Natcho to put him in - his shot is weak and straight at Cech, who fumbles it but claims the loose ball.
    • 64' Mata is playing in fits and starts here - that was not one of them as he miscontrols it on the right, giving the ball straight to Ansaldi.
    • 63' Rubin now playing it around the back. They'd see 2-1 as a decent result.
    • 62' The ball drops for Ramires but his shot is well wide. Chelsea need a third really, 2-1 not really enough going to Russia.
    • 60' Torres now with a speculative effort but that is blocked.
    • 59' Mata with the corner AND TERRY FLIES IN BUT HIS HEADER LANDS JUST OVER! Keeper got a touch, but the final touch came off Terry says the ref.
    • 58' Corner Chelsea after Karadeniz flicks a Torres cross behind, good intervention as Moses was lurking.
    • 57' Spurs-Basel is a game and a half by the way - Sigurdsson has just made it 2-2, with Parker having missed a total sitter earlier. Tottenham Hotspur v FC Basel LIVE
    • 56' Cech flaps at the corner as Sharonov flies in, the loose ball could go anywhere but it lands on the roof of the net! Nervy moments for Chelsea.
    • 55' Corner to Rubin now. Better from them.
    • 54' The replay shows that there was contact between Moses and Eremenko, but it seemed accidental and Moses was on his way down anyway after slipping.
    • 53' Chelsea come again through Moses on the right, he goes down but he stumbled over his feet and no penalty says the ref.
    • 52' A diagonal ball from Rondon almost releases Eremenko but it's a shade too long.
    • 51' Mata's near-post corner ricochets about and Moses almost gets on to it, Azpilicueta puts a low shot in but it's cleared too. Better from Chelsea.
    • 50' The hosts have a corner, won by Moses. Can Terry make up for his earlier error?
    • 49' Bertrand crosses for Luiz to knock it down, he finds Mata who plays an inadvertent one-two with Moses before drilling a low finish that the keeper somehow keeps out! The loose ball is scrambled away and Rubin survive!
    • 48' A Chelsea free-kick on the right is cleared but the hosts come forward again...
    • 47' Chelsea need to get back to the play they managed for the first 33 mins. Let's see if Mata can get on the ball again.
    • 46' RUBIN SUB: Rondon makes his entrance, with Dyadyun exiting.
    • 46' The second half is underway!
    • - @ChaneyGeorge: "John Terry is world class! He is not second choice. He will always be a Chelsea Legend!"; @Coombesybaby: "Eurosport are so unbelievably transparent when it comes to their dislike of Terry. one of those players where fitness is crucial. Benitez isn't playing him. Quality player."; @RayanHarfouce: "thought you weren't supposed to be biased !? State facts and don't blatantly hate" Twitter
    • - I expect to get it in the neck from the JT brigade, but he had no business sticking his arms out there. I suppose that's why he's second choice these days! Anyway, have your say on Twitter @Reda_Eurosport if that's your thing. Follow on Twitter!
    • 45' Half-time and Chelsea lead 2-1. Good match at Stamford Bridge.
    • 44' Ansaldi gets forward from full-back and curls a dipping drive just wide! Looked like Cech got a touch but a goal kick is given!
    • 43' Rubin have been sparked into life by that goal, and indeed they've looked a different side since conceding the second. Great cup tie this now.
    • 42' Torres with a dangerous cross from the left but Sharanov gets it clear.
    • 41' GOAL RUBIN! Natcho guides the penalty cente-left with Cech going the wrong way. 2-1 and all Terry's fault.
    • 41' Terry is booked for the handball - had his arms out, now complaints!
    • 40' PENALTY RUBIN! Terry with a handball after Ansaldi hammered a shot on goal!
    • 39' Chelsea are sitting back a bit and as a result it's opening up for Rubin, who have another corner. Ah no, a foul on Ramires, Chelsea free-kick.
    • 38' Eremenko has a dig from range but that's well off target.
    • 37' Torres is buzzing now, fine touch from him once more to play Lampard into space.
    • 36' Azpilicueta guides the ball to touch for a Rubin corner. The best spell so far for the visitors, but they are being well beaten.
    • 35' Chelsea fans will be pleased to hear that, while they lead Rubin 2-0, Spurs are trailing by the same scoreline at home to Basel! Very much a smash-and-grab in that one. Follow Spurs v Basel here!
    • 34' A long ball sees Luiz fly out to get there just ahead of Dyadyun with Cech flapping! Dyadyun is down hurt, and Rubin have a corner.
    • 33' GOAL CHELSEA! 2-0 and Moses thrashes the ball into the top left after Rubin failed to clear Torres's cross. That came from the initial header by Torres seconds earlier!
    • 32' Lampard with a nice pass wide to Mata, who in turn plays a cute reverse ball to Azpilicueta, his cross is flicked towards goal by Torres and the keeper palms it away!
    • 31' Bertrand is looking very composed at left-back, certainly going forward. I see no reason why he can't replace Cole should he decide he needs a new challenge.
    • 30' Mata with some gravity-defying skill and poise to wriggle away from three challenges.
    • 29' Luiz goes on a run down the right but he is penalised and Rubin have a breather.
    • 28' That spell of Rubin pressure was the exception not the rule and Chelsea are coming forward again...
    • 27' Natcho with a dangerous ball in but Chelsea get it to touch for a throw. Bertrand and Benayoun clear that and Torres gives chase.
    • 26' Orbaiz fouls Torres but Lampard's free-kick is cleared.
    • 25' Mata and Torres combine but the visitors have men back in numbers as Navas blocks. Torres squeezes it wide to Moses but Rubin clear for a throw. And now Moses wins a corner, much to Ansaldi's chagrin, he felt it was a goal kick.
    • 24' Natcho with another long-range effort but this one is even closer to Cech, who takes it into his midriff.
    • - Correction - 16 NOT 19 goals for Torres. Me no read good. Still a decent return.
    • 23' The corner is taken short and Mata swings a high cross that a leaping Torres heads well wide.
    • 22' ALMOST A WONDER-GOAL FROM BERTRAND! Fantastic run from left-back, beating three men and clipping it over an onrushing Ryzhikov, but hacked off the line by Sharonov!
    • 21' GOOD SAVE CECH! Natcho with a thunderbolt from range with his right foot after a nice passing move from the visitors.
    • 20' Lampard leads another Chelsea charge but Mata loses out to Navas.
    • 19' Great touch by Torres to leave Navas on his backside but his cut-back is just beyond his team-mates and Rubin scramble it clear.
    • 18' Mata with an uncharacteristically loose ball after picking it up on the left.
    • 17' That is Torres's 16th goal this season in all competitions. Not bad given his 'decline'.
    • 16' GOAL CHELSEA! Torres completes an old-fashioned route-one move by taking down a long ball and bravely sliding in to bundle the ball home. Luiz with the up-and-under!
    • 15' Kaleshin with a fine touch on the right to knock it inside to Natcho. Better from Rubin as they now look to build a passing move, but ultimately Chelsea have it back.
    • 14' Chelsea get the ball back on the ground as they seek to pass through this organised Rubin side.
    • 13' A few long balls are traded with Chelsea coming out with the ball in the end. Terry won't mind them!
    • 12' Chelsea are dominating possession in this match, as you'd expect. Still nothing of major incident for the keeper, as Torres takes a high ball nicely on the chest before shanking a shot well wide.
    • 11' Great one-touch play by Chelsea that culminates in Mata bursting in from the right, skinning two men including a nutmeg on Ansaldi, but his cut-back is short of Benayoun and the chance is gone! Top skill from Chelsea's Spanish wizard.
    • 10' Torres, wearing that scary facemask, takes a high ball on the chest but it bounces out wide and he has to race left to keep it in. Chelsea keep the ball until Mata misdirects his cross into the arms of the keeper.
    • 9' A half-hearted long shot from Ansaldi goes miles wide of the Chelsea goal. A touch of intent I suppose but that was never beating Cech.
    • 8' ... Which breaks down as Benayoun coolly brings the ball away. Woefully underused in my view, should have gone somewhere else in January.
    • 7' Decent-ish start for Chelsea but they've not managed to get any efforts in on goal yet. Now Rubin with a spell of possession...
    • 6' Here comes Moses down the right, he has great pace and stretches the game nicely but Chelsea don't support him quickly enough and the momentum has gone. Terry spreads it wide again to Moses, whose cross causes some problems but Ramires commits a foul as he chases the rebound.
    • 5' Benayoun with a great first touch and a sweet turn to leave Kaleshin for dead but, as he goes on a driving run inside from the left, he overruns it slightly and the keeper Ryzhikov gathers.
    • 4' Benayoun with a flick-on before completing a one-two with Mata, but the Israeli slips and the chance has gone. Now Azpilicueta crosses in for Torres but Rubin clear.
    • 3' Long balls from both sides so far as they feel their way into the match. Expect a bit more fluency after a few minutes...
    • 2' The pitch is looking a touch scruffy around the lines - it's been snowing but not settling in London today. April!!
    • 1' The first half is underway!
    • 20:00 The teams are out - and there are none of the usual anti-Benitez chants that I can hear. Benefit of the doubt after beating United?
    • 19:55 @AnIrishTrueBlue: "Can't see Chelsea beating this Rubin team, they're too solid as a unit" -interesting theory. I see Chelsea having too much going forward for any other result.

    • 19:40 English clubs may have flopped in the Champions League but Chelsea, Spurs and Newcastle make it three teams in the quarters of this tournament. Last year there were three Spanish teams at this stage and one of them - Atletico Madrid - won it; the year before there were three Portuguese teams in the quarters and one of them - Porto - won it. In both cases they beat compatriots in the final. Spooky.
    • 19:35 Chelsea could become the first team to win both European club competitions back-to-back in reverse order. That would also put them in an elite of clubs to have won all three historic major European titles, including the Cup Winners' Cup, which is now defunct.
    • 19:30 What are your predictions? William Hill have Chelsea as 8/15 favourites, with Rubin 11/2 and the draw 14/5. I can see the Blues winning 3-1. Let me know your predos on Twitter @Reda_Eurosport. Follow on Twitter!
    • 19:25 Kurban Berdyev: "Rubin got I suppose the strongest team from all the possible sides. Playing Chelsea will give us additional motivation and this match will have heightened interest."
    • 19:20 Rafa Benitez: "My priority is the top four and trying to win the next game, in the Europa League. The race for the top four will be until the end of the season. We're in the top four with one game in hand so we're in a very good position. We're in the semi-finals of the FA Cup, quarter-finals of the Europa League. It's a great season at the moment. It could be even better."
    • 19:15 For Rubin, forward Salomon Rondon is surprisingly dropped to the bench with youngster Vladimir Dyadyun coming in. Alexander Ryazantsev makes the bench having been a major doubt, but Alan Kasaev misses out. France midfielder Yann M'Vila is also injured.
    • 19:10 Chelsea make six changes from the team that knocked Manchester United out of the FA Cup on Monday. Striker Demba Ba is ineligible, Ashley Cole out for a few weeks with a hamstring problem, while Eden Hazard, Branislav Ivanovic, John Obi Mikel and Oscar are rested. John Terry, Ryan Bertrand, Frank Lampard, Victor Moses, Yossi Benayoun and Fernando Torres all come in. Gary Cahill is also injured, while Oriol Romeu a long-term absentee with a knee injury.
