    • 40' GOAL! Club Brugge 2-1 Newcastle (Anita)
    • 38' Tavernier looks to release Sammy Ameobi with a ball out to the left, but it just skids off the surface and out of play for a goal kick.
    • 37' The game has just gone slightly flat in the last few minutes. Newcastle perhaps need half time to regroup.
    • 35' Tiote in the book for a silly foul on Trickovski. He's now suspended for Newcastle's next match
    • 33' At the other end, Shola Ameobi turns his man well and fires a low cross across goal. Newcastle threatening to pull one back here.

    • 23' Alan Pardew, arms folded at the edge of his technical area, looks somewhat concerned.
    • 22' Club Brugge having some fun out there now, as Bacca drives in from the left and tries to catch out Krul with an ambitious effort with the outside of his right foot. Krul saves.
    • 21' Marveaux's dangerous free-kick causes some indecision in the home defence, but Brugge eventually hack it away after it pings around their box.
    • 20' How will Newcastle respond now?
    • 19' Newcastle in crisis as Krul is somehow beaten by a tame shot from 20 yards. The shot was hit more in hope than expectation, but somehow bobbles beyond Krul, who was slow to get across. Bizarre goal. 2-0.

    • 16' Newcastle are certainly capable of breaching the home defence, which looks very frail at times.
    • 15' Newcastle are behind for the first time in the group stage of this year's Europa League. How will they respond?
    • 14' The home side lead through a classy finish by Trickovski, who takes down a high ball on the edge of the box. The excellent first touch bamboozles Coloccini, who can't stop Trickovski's low finish past Krul. 1-0
    • 13' GOAL! Club Brugge 1-0 Newcastle (Trickovski)
    • 12' Huge chance for Obertan! The Frenchman is played clean through, but his shot is too close to Jorgacevic, who makes the save. Obertan has to score there.
    • 11' Marveaux's free-kick is cleared and Club Brugge mount a blistering counter attack. Ball is played wide to Trickovski, whose cross is only half-cleared to Donk - who hammers it wide from 20 yards.
    • 9' Krul is too casual as his clearance is charged down by the lively Bacca. With Krul out of position, Bacca tries to cut the ball back to the waiting man - but Coloccini gets back to intercept.
    • 8' @Milonewton on Twitter: "Can see a Toon victory, with both Ameobi's getting on the score sheet, along with a Coloccini header from a corner to pay back his red" Tweet me here
    • 7' Trickovski drives forward, but this time Tavernier deals with him easily. Newcastle being forced to do their share of defensive work here.
    • 6' Bacca causing problems again. He tries to shift the ball onto his right foot as he drives into the box but Coloccini, then Anita, combine to deny him.
    • 5' A very open start in Belgium. Both sides with chances already.
    • 4' Newcastle concede possession easily and Bacca drives at goal, but slices his shot wide from 20 yards.
    • 3' Obertan ghosts infield from the left and a space opens for him to shoot - but he drags his effort wide. Big early chance for Newcastle.
    • 2' Much of the play in Club Brugge's half as Newcastle start confidently.
    • 1' KICK OFF. Club Brugge get us underway.
    • 17.55 The players have emerged from the tunnel and we're about to go in Belgium. Who's going to win this one? Who do you fancy to score? Tweet me your predictions here
    • 17.50 Newcastle coach Alan Pardew: “It’s an opportunity to get the qualification sorted, and that’s what we want to do. But it’s easier said than done because we’re all aware of Brugge’s qualities after the first game and we’re carrying three more big injuries after the trip to Liverpool at the weekend. The squad is really being stretched at the moment, and there’s no doubt that events at Anfield at the weekend have hurt us."
    • 17.45 Club Brugge coach Philippe Clement: “I do not believe there were saboteurs who wanted Georges Leekens out of the club. However, there were groups in the squad who were like islands. The commitment of some of those players on the islands was limited. We must now get back to playing as a unit again.”
    • 17.40 Club Brugge have one long-term absentee, with Victor Vasquez not expected back from his collarbone injury until the end of the year, but caretaker boss Philippe Clement - overseeing his first game following the recent sacking of Georges Leekens - has just 18 fit first-team players at his disposal with Jesper Jorgensen and Vadis Odjidja the only available midfielders. Macedonian forward Ivan Trickovski and Israeli international Lior Refaelov failed fitness tests this week.
    • 17.35 Fabricio Coloccini and Cheick Tiote, both serving domestic bans for their red cards against Liverpool and Sunderland, start in an experimental side named by boss Alan Pardew. Marveaux, Bigirimana, Obertan all start as Ba and Ben Arfa are rested.
    • 17.30 The big Newcastle team news is also a little bit of history as Shola and Sammy Ameobi start, becoming the first brothers to start a game for Newcastle in 60 years.
    • 17.25 CLUB BRUGGE: Jorgacevic, Hogli, Almeback, Hoefkens, Donk, Jordi, Jorgensen, Odjidja, Lestienne, Trickovski, Bacca. 1. Ca #$%$ complete load of shyte from you,you know MANY Scots who dislike being called Jock, you probably dont know any !! No one, just shut up "slapper", Ha Ha Ha !!What a boring git you are !!

From Joseph, on Sat 10 Nov 15:13
  2. closed-minded, seeing as all you have is typo-picking; your worst comment ever Joseph btw - i expected better.

From cameron, on Fri 9 Nov 20:17
  3. Absolute bilge, but i expected nothing less. You have not taken in a single word i typed; i realise i am wasting my time with you. For your information, 'Frog' is a derogatory term, and i know many Scottish people who detest being labelled a 'Jock', and many Irishmen who despise being labelled 'Paddy'. You are a close-minded, blinkered old fool stuck in the Dark Ages. You shame your club, your City and all OAPs. This thread is closed. Have it.

From cameron, on Fri 9 Nov 20:11
  4. Joseph the girl. Shut up for heavens sake. Stop making a fool of yourself, oops to late. Dumb slapper.

    From no-one-is-no-one, on Fri 9 Nov 17:48
  5. CaMORON, for starters, where and who classes "frog" as "racist"?I dont see it that way, a Jock is a Jock, Paddy,a Paddy and so on ! As for studying at Sunderland Uni, big deal, so do lots more people who do nowt with their lives ! ,cant have been in English, you cant even spell "zillionth" and cant have done you much good career wise ,youre on here all day ! By the way you can put SAFC as opposed to 5afc,Never wish defeat on SAFC, who are you kidding ! Every week you come on here with your "mark my words ",craic. hoping SAFC get thumped !! What a liar you are ! As for a dump ,Sunderland is no more of a dump than your rough areas of Newcastle !! Tiote, he is a dirty player whose record speaks for itself ! Hardly a skilful player ! Finally,Im not an OAP who shuffles about,Im in my 50's, I play golf,go swimming each week, go cycling, walking, watch SAFC, work part time and have a good works pension.! Now then Mr. Mauron thats enough of this is my life, as I said , the nastiness started in your comment 36, Im not a nasty person I just stick up for bitterness towards Sunderland and give the same back !! Difference is I dont tell lies, I want the mags to get beat every week, though I dont forecast them to do so !

From Joseph, on Fri 9 Nov 11:43
  6. Yes, calling Cabaye a 'frog' is classed as racism . . .. . .duh! Now then, for the zilionth time, read and digest. I studied for 3 years at Sunderland University. During this time i made many friends, many of them mackems. I graduated, (with First Class Honours btw), at the Stadium of Delusion (sorry couldn't resist), where i had a bit of craic with Steve Cram (a 5afc diehard as you know) who presented me with my scroll. I owe the city (?) of 5underland a lot, and even though it is a dump (in my opinion) i will always have fond memories. I never wish defeat on 5afc, although i do admit to laughing my big cok off when they do, as it gives me ammo for the likes of you. A lot of the stuff i post is bait, and you are always the simple one that takes a nibble. As for Tiote being an 'animal'; from someone with Clattermole in his team you've got a nerve - now there is an animal. Difference is, Clattermole couldn't tie Tiote's bootlaces when it comes to footballing skill. Oh, and please don't call me mate. Here endeth the lesson Mister Four Fifths, now be a good OAP and shuffle along ;-))))

From cameron, on Thu 8 Nov 22:32
  7. CaMORON, WHICH racist comment would that be? calling Cabaye a frog,(slang for a Frenchman.) Tiote an animal? well he is ,is isnt he?Can only call it as I SEE it !!! NO BITTERNESS,you lying toe rag! every week you call SAFC , the club , the supporters ,the city, you want them to get beat every game, what the 4-k are you talking about you clown. Look mate I can be civil when I want, its people like you and your cronies who raise the bar ! I think you'll find your comment with spiteful wretch (36 )was the start of any nastiness !!

From Joseph, on Thu 8 Nov 21:59

  9. WELL DONE NEWCASTLE

From CHRISTINE, on Thu 8 Nov 21:43
  10. Oh, and as i have stated zillions of times, i hold no bitterness whatsoever towards 5afc, the city or the people. Got many who will back me up on that as well, including mackems. So have that old man; and i noticed the racist comment tonight as well. Naughty, naughty - looks like i shall be reporting you again DOHseph . . . . . .aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahahhahahahhahahahhaha!

From cameron, on Thu 8 Nov 21:39
  11. I even called you Joseph, trying to be more adult yet you couldn't rise to it could you. You did NOT watch the game; i repeat, how was it 'flukey'? How should we have 'been buried'? A patched-up side, decent result so i am delighted. By the way Joseph, you do know that if by some miracle your lot ever qualifies for this competition, you will be excluded due to the new Financial Fair Play rules don't you?

From cameron, on Thu 8 Nov 21:36
  12. CaMORON, how the 4-k do you know what I can or cant afford ? Ha Ha Ha !! Thats the best yet !! Yes Im bitter towards NUFC like you are to SAFC , dont tell me you arent ! As I said you should have been buried ,youre own fans have said it was a penalty, come on Mauron, have what ?you only got a draw !! My word you are a bit touchy tonight, you need some work to occupy your mind son !!

From Joseph, on Thu 8 Nov 21:21
  13. Well done in the Mickey Mouse Cup, as the Geordies called it in 2006 when the Boro got to the final

From MARK, on Thu 8 Nov 21:08
  14. Joseph, your comments have really made my night. I can just see you squirming watching the commentary. No way you would've watched the game as you can't afford ESPN. What a bitter man you are. By the way, what was 'flukey' about it? 'Buried'? Like i say, you obviously didn't watch the game. Newcastle United: proudly continuing to represent England and the North East in Europe. Have it you spiteful wretch.

From cameron, on Thu 8 Nov 20:22
  15. Finish the job at home against Maritimo; then we must take this competition seriously and field our strongest possible side.

From cameron, on Thu 8 Nov 20:15
  16. Another flukey result for the dirty Toon, should have been buried, living on their luck again !

From Joseph, on Thu 8 Nov 20:01

    From no-one-is-no-one, on Thu 8 Nov 19:51
  19. Ronnie as one of the toon boys making constructive criticism I stand by what I said despite coming back from two down We do not have strength in depth and the continous selection of certain players who do not have it by the management baffles me

From Duncan, on Thu 8 Nov 19:19
  20. 1 or 2 fellow toon boys maybe wishing they hadn't made a comment it's not over until the fat ref sings
