    • - Thanks for joining us this evening!
    • 90'+4 FULL TIME. Liverpool take victory 1-0 but only after a thorough test from Hearts.
    • 90'+3 Last roll of the dice for Hearts as they push forward and Paterson tries his luck from about 35 yards, shooting a foot or so wide of the right post...
    • 90'+2 Webster floats a cross into the area but it's overhit. Borini makes way for youngster Adam Morgan as Liverpool make their final change.
    • 90'+1 Into additional time... Three minutes to play.
    • 90' SAVE FROM REINA! Paterson lashes a volley on the turn from the right on the angle, and the ball flashes across the face of goal, helped on its way by Reina!
    • 89' Hearts working the ball forward once again as they put together a last few attempts to equalise...
    • 88' CHANCE FOR HEARTS! The ball comes into the area from the right as McGowan crosses, and somehow the ball breaks for the substitute Driver who spins and shoots, but the effort is not composed enough and it's a simple enough save for Reina.
    • 87' Hearts make their final change of the evening as Scott Robinson replaces Darren Barr.
    • 85' Sterling again comes in off the right and runs all the way along the edge of the area, creating some nice space for the shot, but it's just too weak. Nice work from the winger nevertheless.
    • 84' Dale Carrick comes on for Novikovas as Hearts make another change.
    • 83' Liverpool trying to make some inroads down the left side now, and then they switch play to the right. Just passing the ball around nicely now. Sterling goes for an audacious curling shot but it's wide.
    • 81' Liverpool just looking to slow the pace of the game down a bit, but they'll surely look to add a second if they can.
    • 80' Harsh for Hearts to fall behind like that. Can they respond inside the final 10 minutes?
    • 79' Driver comes on for Hearts who take off Templeton.
    • 78' GOAL FOR LIVERPOOL! Webster puts the ball into his own net under pressure from Borini! Kelly's low, pacey cross from the right reaches Borini who gets the weakest of touches on it and Webster can't adjust his feet quick enough as the ball cannons off his shin and past MacDonald.
    • 77' A few long balls being peppered about as we head towards the final 10 minutes... Hearts preparing their first dub of the evening and it looks like Andrew Driver will be coming on...
    • 75' Hearts putting some pressure on Liverpool's back line but there's no cutting final delivery. Liverpool not helping themselves by hacking the ball away aimlessly, and Reina takes control by slowing things down next time he takes possession.
    • 73' Downing tries to whip a cross in from the left but it's deflected and falls kindly for MacDonald who gathers it up.
    • 72' Nice turn from Templeton on the left, then Hearts win a free-kick which Grainger puts into the box but Reina rises to collect.
    • 71' Novikovas wins a corner for Hearts up the other end as McGowan overhits a cross from the right...
    • 70' Liverpool push on again in attack but there's a lack of final ball and incision. They need to get Sterling back on the ball again...
    • 68' Second sub of the evening for Liverpool, and it's Joe Allen coming on. Jay Spearing makes way for him.
    • 66' Adam wins a free-kick in midfield and Shelvey floats the delivery into the danger zone. MacDonald collects but spills under pressure from Borini, but gathers again at the second time of asking.
    • 64' Novikovas tries to send the ball in from the left but it's cut out. Borini and Webster go up for a header together in midfield and the Italian wins a free-kick out of the defender, much to the Hearts man's dismay.
    • 62' First change of the evening and Downing comes on in place of Robinson.
    • 61' Novikovas floats a coner in as Hearts apply some pressure again. It's cleared and the danger dissipates. Been impressed with the 21-year-old Novikovas this evening.
    • 59' Novikovas runs at the Liverpool defence and sends a rasping drive over from about 30 yards... He just couldn't get it to dip enough...
    • 58' Adam comes in off the left and fires a shot wide by about a yard or so from outside the area...
    • 57' Sterling caught off down the left. He's still burning Hearts' defence for pace every time, even after an hour.
    • 56' Paterson races onto a loose bouncing ball inside the Liverpool area and flashes a shot high and wide from a tight angle. Not a bad effort at all...
    • 55' Liverpool starting to get on top, and Sterling has his heels clipped as he tries to race onto the ball inside the Hearts area. It's missed by the referee...
    • 53' The delivery comes in but MacDonald helps the ball on by tipping it clear and Hearts eventually win the goal-kick...
    • 52' Sterling with some fantastic work down the left as he runs in off the wing and wins a corner for Liverpool.
    • 51' Borini flagged offside, and it's marginal as Shelvey picks him out with a great pass forward.
    • 49' Templeton appeals for a free-kick in vain as Robinson dumps him on the Tynecastle turf. Hearts have started this second half with fire in their collective belly... Can they convert it into a goal though?
    • 48' Hearts with an early free-kick, but the attempted delivery into the area from Taouil is not a good one.
    • 47' No half time changes to report, by the way...
    • 46' KICK OFF... Hearts get the second half underway.
    • - The teams are heading out for the second half...
    • - Standout player for Hearts in the first half definitely Templeton. For Liverpool the young Sterling has been excellent.
    • 45'+1 HALF TIME... And that's the last action of the half. Goalless it at the break. A decent first half.
    • 45' LIVERPOOL HIT THE POST! Taouil gives the ball away with a terrible short pass and Sterling bears down on goal, Unslefishly he squares it for Borini who only has the 'keeper to beat from 15 yards but the Italian thumps it against the right post! Hearts escape...
    • 43' Liverpool put some pressure on from a corner. Adam puts the ball in, and it makes its way back out to him on the right from where he runs it in and forces a clearance.
    • 42' PENALTY APPEAL FOR HEARTS! Turned away as the ball strikes Carragher's arm from a header by Webster. The Liverpool defender did have his back turned and didn't know much about it.
    • 40' Great volley attempt from Templeton as he lashes a lay-off not far over from just inside the area! Hearts threatening again with five minutes until half time...
    • 38' Taouil mis-controls the ball and it goes through to Borini who looks set to bear down on goal and shoot, but he's flagged offside... Strange, seeing as it was Taouil who played him through, but the decision stands.
    • 36' Novikovas sends a free-kick in from the right but the delivery is nowhere near penetrative enough and Liverpool head clear. Ten minutes to the break...
    • 34' FIRST CLEAR-CUT CHANCE OF THE GAME! Henderson comes down the right and curls a great ball inside for Borini, which the Italian meets with a perfectly-timed run, but he just can't get enough of a touch on it - or the right kind of touch - to trouble MacDonald. Great chance.
    • 32' It all gets a bit scrappy in midfield as possession swaps hands a few times, but eventually Liverpool get the ball under control and Shelvey plays Borini in with a neat pass which the Italian takes on and shoots from. It's blocked and Liverpool win the corner.
    • 30' Hearts come back at Liverpool and win a corner, but the visitors deal with it.
    • 29' It seems to have clicked for Liverpool, that Sterling is an excellent channel for them to trouble Hearts through. MacDonald parries a shot from outside the area as the youngster cuts in off the left and pings one with his favoured right foot. Good, lively and positive stuff from Sterling.
    • 28' More pace from Sterling down the left and Webster is being worked hard by the Liverpool prospect...
    • 27' McGowan bounds forward with the ball and looks set to shoot from the edge of the area before a stumble sees him lose control momentarily, and that's enough for the Liverpool defence to deal with the danger.
    • 25' Sterling causes a panic in the Hearts defence! He knocks the ball around Webster and the hearts defender pokes it past his own 'keeper MacDonald in an attempt to clear the danger, but very nearly puts the ball in his own net. It just trickles wide...
    • 24' First yellow of the game goes to Barr after the Hearts man pulls Adam back as the Liverpool midfielder races away... Told you that battle would heat up!
    • 23' Great ball out wide from the middle by Spearing to Sterling, and the youngster cuts in off the left and tries to get a shot off. It's blocked, but that's enough of a warning for Hearts and enough of a prompt for Liverpool to try and bring the wide man into the game more...
    • 21' Taouil steams in on Henderson in midfield and gives away a free-kick. Henderson saved by the referee a bit there, he had a poor first touch and two Hearts players were all over him...
    • 20' Really impressive opening 20 minutes from Hearts, for whom Templeton has been a standout...
    • 18' Templeton with a decent effort from the left side! He picks the ball up inside Liverpool's half, advances and fires an outswinging shot towards the far top corner which sails wide, but not by a country mile. Spearing needs to get on top of him if Liverpool are to stifle this strong Hearts spell.
    • 17' Barr strikes first time on the volley as the corner meets him on the edge of Liverpool's area, but it's blocked on the penalty spot. Hearts really buzzing here....
    • 16' Novikovas is proving to be a nuisance for Liverpool and is keeping the visiting defence busy. Hearts win a corner...
    • 15' Adam and Barr exchanging a few words but nothing more as they part ways after going in for a crunching 50:50. Great little tussle developing between them... That'll progress as the game goes on for sure!
    • 14' Kelly carries the ball down the right as Liverpool come forward and he wins a throw in Hearts' half.
    • 13' Hearts with a bit of wind in their sails and Sutton now tries his luck from the edge of the area with a turn and shot. It flies well wide, but that effort from Novikovas a couple of minutes ago has really given them a lift...
    • 11' Liverpool clear the danger and come away with the ball... But Hearts win it back in midfield and some great skill from Taouil sets Novikovas up for a shot from about 30 yards... It has Reina peddling and the Liverpool 'keeper tips it behind for a corner - that was heading for the top-left corner!!
    • 10' Shelvey pumps in a couple of corners in quick succession but they're both dealt with well by the Hearts defence. The home side go up the other end and win one of their own...
    • 9' Liverpool win a corner as Adam advances quickly with the ball and fires a low shot which MacDonald gets down to parry. Borini reaches the loose ball and fires it back towards goal from an angle but it's cut out.
    • 7' Carragher risks it with a very short backpass that has Reina pounding out of his area to clear!!! Very close there for the Liverpool veteran...
    • 5' Spearing's been getting on the ball a fair bit inside these opening five minutes. He looks like he wants it every time. Could be a key man for Liverpool this evening.
    • 4' Charlie Adam looks fired up in midfield for Liverpool, chasing everything down early on as both team try and impose themselves on the game in the opening minutes...
    • 3' Shelvey takes Taouil down with a meaty challenge in midfield which draws a free-kick...
    • 2' Sterling gives a demonstration of his pace down the left with a driving run early on. The sides just settling down after a few long balls are played around.
    • 1' Early head on the ball from a long one forward for Sutton, and he'll be the target man for Hearts this evening.
    • 19:45 KICK OFF... Liverpool get the game underway...
    • 19:44 The teams are ready for action, kick off just moments away...
    • 19:40 The teams are heading out onto the pitch now...
    • 19:35 The Edinburgh crowd are getting vocal and it's a great atmosphere building inside Tynecastle.
    • 19:30 15 minutes to kick off...
    • 19:25 Brendan Rodgers just clearing up Andy Carroll's omission by saying the big striker was feeling a hamstring strain, so to avoid any risk he's been left out.
    • 19:20 Martin Skrtel and Glen Johnson have also both been rested ahead of Sunday's Premier League match against Man City at Anfield. Raheem Sterling is handed a start... Jamie McDonald starts in goal for Hearts after Peter Enckelman had been given special dispensation to start despite signing after the registrations deadline...
    • 19:15 So the first talking point is that Andy Carroll has been completely left out of the squad. Steven Gerrard and Luis Suarez were expected to be rested, but Carroll's omission raises the eyebrow... On his way out of Anfield then? Only Brendan Rodgers knows the answer to that one, but the Liverpool boss did say yesterday he'd be a 'nutcase' to let the striker go without cover lined up...
    • 19:10 Liverpool: Reina, Kelly, Carragher, Agger, Robinson, Henderson, Adam, Spearing, Shelvey, Borini, Sterling... SUBS: Jones, Coates, Downing, Lucas, Allen, Flanagan, Morgan.
    • 19:05 Team line-ups are in, so let's start with home side Hearts: MacDonald, Ryan McGowan, Webster, Zaliukas, Grainger, Paterson, Barr, Taouil, Novikovas, Templeton, Sutton... SUBS: Enckelman, Robinson, Driver, Gordon Smith, Dylan McGowan, McHattie, Carrick.
    • 19:00 Good evening and welcome to LIVE coverage of Hearts v Liverpool, as the sides take one another on in the first leg of their Europa League play-off first leg at Tynecastle. Kick off is at 19:45 UK time...
