    • 2' Liverpool have set up fairly attacking with Shelvey, Assaidi and Borini up front.
    • 1' We’re underway here at Anfield and what an atmosphere.
    • - The referee for tonight's clash is Stefan Johannesson (Sweden).
    • - Guidolin: "The atmosphere will be impressive and the lads might not be accustomed to that pressure-cooker atmosphere. Still, I think our focus ought to be on Liverpool. Atmosphere is all well and good, but the games are played on the pitch. Liverpool haven't had the best start to the season, but that is because they are settling in to a new way of playing with a new coach who did very well at Swansea last year. They paid a price for those changes, but I have to focus on my own squad."
    • - Brendan Rodgers, there, in the build-up to the match talking about how he was going to pick the team he thinks will win the match. Novel approach, Brendan!
    • - Rodgers: "I will do what I've done in most of the games and I will have a look at the group. I always look at each game and pick a group and team to win it. Udinese will be a very strong team, they've got some excellent players and have had some excellent results this season so far - they've beaten AC Milan and are unbeaten in their last five games. We need to ensure we have a group that is strong enough to win the game, but those players [Steven Gerrard and Luis Suarez] will be involved"
    • - Udinese captain Antonio Di Natale is back in the team returning to the side after being omitted from the club's last two games for disciplinary reasons. Maurizio Domizzi, meanwhile, returns after injury
    • - So, there is no place for Joe Cole, who was in contention for the first time since picking up an injury in the very first match of the season.
    • - Udinese, on the other hand, look like this: Brkic, Benatia, Danilo, Domizzi, Faraoni, Agyemang-Badu, Pinzi, Pasquale, Pereyra, Di Natale, Armero. Subs: Padelli, Ranegie, Coda, Lazzari, Fabbrini, Heurtaux, Willians
    • - The teams are in and this is how Liverpool line up: Reina, Johnson, Coates, Carragher, Robinson, Henderson, Allen, Shelvey, Downing, Borini, Assaidi. Subs: Jones, Sahin, Suarez, Gerrard, Sterling, Skrtel, Wisdom

  3. I don't really get to watch Lpool matches these days, but as much as i know, Lpool has a huge problem with its defenders. their defenders (as much i know) very often score own goals that leads to Lpool losing games.

  6. Kools your post @ 130 where you state or make some very good points but then spoil it by missing the obvious fact which is that we're not winning many matches playing the supposedly BR way. You make the point that we are playing this great football under BR, well I have news for you sir we've always played this type of football we're supposedly meant to be playing now under BR. Mr Kools playing the passing game or type of football BR wants us to play isn't anything new to Liverpool. As you're supposed to be a fan you'll know that this type of football has always been played at LFC since the days of Shanks. It's not about playing pretty football like Barca it's about scoring goals, that's what wins you matches. Liverpool football club needs someone who will score goals and also we need to play at a much more higher tempo it's as simple as that! It's not rocket science and what's going on with our team right now is almost like taking a step backwards if the truth be known. Sometimes the facts and truth needs to be aired or told. Argue all we want on reflection what KD was trying to do was firstly build confidence within the side and apart from a few bad results towards the run in to the end of last season, the side was making some improvement, more so than this current side. I personally see no improvement on the way we're playing because we are still not converting our chances or putting the ball into the back of oppositions net. Our tempo needs to get quicker because all the other managers now know how BR will setup his team to play and then they prepare their side to counter act that. We need more than just one option or style of play and we need to act right now before the Liverpool we all love sinks further down the league table.

  8. cos are team and manger his just not good enough for liverpool fc and in all of are hearts we all know are team and manger his not good enough so its time we need br out and a big clear art before its 2late so are owners need to dig deep in jan and buy two world class forwards who can get goals regular and 2 world class midfielders who can get goals regular and we would be alright with a better manger

    From 3Dog, on Thu 4 Oct 22:59
  9. Benitez, wasn't he the one that wanted Barry and sacrificed Alonso in the process. He had great ideas but in reality we never played football in the manner we do now! As a fan I would be happy losing if we play like we are now rather than under Dalglish & his merry men. Hodgson and his second raters. Honest Roy etc; the future is bright! Going in the right direction.

From Kools, on Thu 4 Oct 22:49
  10. Carra has never been the best reader of a game, passer or defender and now is not a time for sentiment, Wisdom is up and coming and should be playing in front of Carra. We look like a team and in time those doubters will eat there words. BR is laying foundations. If at the end of the season we are not consistent, then a time for a re-think. Not another new manager but the finances to make LFC once again the mighty REDS!!!!!!!!!!!

From Kools, on Thu 4 Oct 22:45
  11. we need a big clear art and a new manger fast

  13. like are stand by my words like are said from day one br his a joke he his not good enough for liverpool fc and its time are owners wake up and get some one better cos all the money and all the time in the world and br wont get us to win pl or nothing cos only place where going his the championship and thats the truth like where not going forward where going backwards like we still got the same problems we have add for years are forwards cant sore or get goals to save there life half time and there on 45 50 and 60 grand and more a week and nearly half of um have only got one foot and they could not sore if they add open net so it does make me feel sick a bit to think what money there on and all we look good at his just passing ball about and thats about it so yes its a joke br

  15. Non of the Thicko Pool Fans will admit that the Players are #$%$..They blame the Owners, the Manager, Man U, Yearn for Benitez to come back...or is it Jesus Christ The want? ? ?

From COLIN, on Thu 4 Oct 22:29
  16. The sad fact is LFC need to have more options on the bench and secondly you can't have or play with the same game plan every match you play unless your name is Barcelona and you have players in your team such as Messi and the other great players they have in their team and on their bench. Our passing game which we are trying to play under BR is much too slow in the build up and not of a quick enough tempo to hurt other teams who then get players behind the ball and defend. At the same time they can hit us on the break which we saw tonight. We also need other options than just passing the ball around then not being able to get it into the oppositions box unless we pick out the right pass on the ground, this is reflected more so when we have corners. Brendan we need to have other options and you need to get a striker who can at least hold up the ball and also head the ball. Carroll comes to mind so if I were you I would hope that you have already told West Ham that we need him back come Christmas.
